Biography:
“Come on Lizzie, you can do it!”

At the shout of encouragement from her father, she flew higher, stretching out her arm to reach the quaffle he had thrown purposefully out of her reach. Just a little further to go. With an extra push of energy, she leap forward on the broom, grabbing the red ball and tucking it to her chest. Unfortunately, focusing on the goal of the quaffle caused her to forget that she was high in the air, supported only by a wooden broom. Her grip on the broom slipped, and as she felt the leather rest against her body, she also became aware that she was falling. Fast.

“Daddy, help me!”

Her shout rang out across the yard, except it wasn’t her father who came to her rescue. From a chair in the lawn, her mother casually flicked her wand in the little girl’s direction, casting a spell to soften her fall until she landed safely into her father’s arms.

“If you keep that up Tomi, she’s not going to be able to play quidditch at all. Don’t want to break her legs before she gets a chance to attend Hogwarts, do we?”

There was a small tone of reprimand in her voice, but also a smile as she lovingly looked at her family. She could never really be mad at them.

“Mum, I’m only 7. If I break something, it’ll have time to heal, right dad?” She looked up at her father for confirmation, who only laughed as he set the small girl down.

“That’s right. Plenty of time. Nothing for your mother to worry about. Now why don’t you run and get the bludger set? Maybe we’ll convince your mum to show you a few tricks from her days as a player.”

Lizzie looked at her mother and beamed at the confirmation in her eyes, running over to where a couple of practice bludgers were shaking in the case, itching to be released.

Eyes opened too quickly, and as they adjusted to the dark room, a sigh escaped her lips. It was all just a dream. A wonderful dream that had to be interrupted by the harsh reality of life. If only she could hang on to memories from years ago when she was awake, instead of being faced with the truth every day.

Her father was never going to play quidditch with her again. Or catch her if she fell. He would never help her with anything in her life.

He was gone. Dead. Lost to the never ending war around and her dreams were the only time she could be around him and happy.

Lizzie was happy, at times, but not nearly as often as she used to be. Three years after her father’s death, and it was still difficult to think about. Especially now that she was in school, the same place her parents had met and fallen in love. He walked those halls, sat in those classes, and everything around her was just a reminder of him.

In a way, it was good, it allowed the girl to hang on to him, to share that part of his life, and in that way, experience part of his life. But it still didn’t stop the hurt whenever she thought about the fact that he wasn’t at home waiting for her, that she couldn’t owl him with all of the great news of things happening at school.

Being at Hogwarts was both a blessing and a curse.

Still, she tried to be happy. For her mother, and for her brother. Lizzie needed to be strong, because Joe needed a strong older sister. And her mum needed someone to help take the burden from her shoulders. She saw how hurt her mum had been, how long it had taken her to even get out of the house after her dad’s death. And Lizzie knew that she needed to be strong for both of them. Because while it hurt her too, her mum had lost so much more in his death.

So Lizzie put on a smile as she walked the halls, made friends, did the best she could at school, and generally tried to be a strong person. For her family.

And for her dad, because even after his death, she wanted to think that she was making him proud.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Gryffindor

Personality: A true product of her parents, Lizzie seemed to have inherited strong traits from both of them. From her mother, she gained her strong sense of justice, and the need for everything to be fair in life. Which became problematic for herself, in trying to deal with her father’s death. From her father, she gained an adventurous personality, always looking for something fun to do. Of course, that clashes strongly with her desire to do well in classes, and to follow her mother’s path to being a Head Girl. She also tends to take the fun route more than not, trying to hold on to her sense of identity in her father, since he is no longer in her life. Overall, Lizzie is friendly, and fiercely loyal to her friends. But that loyalty also means that she can be a strong enemy to those who do not get along with her. Whatever emotion she deals with, she does so strongly, and with purposeful conviction of heart and mind.

Appearance: Besides her personality, she also gained a good combination of looks from her parents. From her mother, long straight hair and a good complexion. From her father, dark hair, and his large smile. Her eyes are soft, almond like her mother’s, but with just enough of a hint to the Japanese heritage on her father’s side of the family. She’s of average height, nothing too intimidating if you just judge her based on looks alone.

Option 2!

She always liked flowers. Their bright colors were enough to make her smile on days when she didn’t want to. Especially the red ones, because they reminded her of Gryffindor. There was always plenty of red things in their house, especially her father’s sweater, which was a personal favorite. On the saddest days, Lizzie’s mum would find her curled in bed, arms wrapped tight around her father’s old sweater.

But today, it was all about the flowers, and Lizzie was enjoying the weather while sitting close to some particularly bright red flowers, rolling a plucked one between her fingers.

Her relaxed thoughts were interrupted though by heavy footsteps, someone obviously not too worried about disrupting people. How rude. She glanced sideways and spotted an older boy, head down in the flowers, not paying attention to anything around them, but somehow very interested in the dirt.

Lizzie had to keep from laughing out loud at the sound of his sneeze. Served him right, being so harsh to the beauty around them. The laugh couldn’t be stopped though as she watched him wipe his nose on his robe. Although it was quickly stifled as he looked her way.

“Can I help you with something? It’s not polite to stare.”

Unfazed eyes blinked at the older boy, choosing in simple second to give a reply, instead of ignoring him.

“It’s also not polite to go destroying flowers, like a careless niffler on a hunt for gold. Did your nose find what it was looking for?”
