Character Classifieds / A child to adopt
« on: 06/07/2022 at 21:15 »
Hi everyone!

Isabella is looking to adopt a child in the next term or two. I'm planning on plotting her this summer to set the seeds. And I was hoping that somebody would be willing to play that child. I have no notions of who that character needs to be or what they need to look like. The character can be whoever you want them to be! As long as they are younger than 18 and need a parental figure, then this can happen!

I would like someone who would be willing to maintain a long-term relationship between the two characters and would be willing to continuously thread.

If you're interested, please PM me on my Dylan account or message me on Discord.

She lives in a run-down fixer upper apartment in a posh area London of London. She doesn't make a lot of money, but she wants to project the image of a posh lifestyle. Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Isabella Pickering was not supposed to happen. She was the youngest of four children, and her parents only wanted three children. While they tried their best to not exclude Isabella, she definitely felt the pressure. In order to curry favour, Isabella began to observe her siblings to tattle on them, and point out their shortcomings. This was a skill that proved useful to young Isabella, and a skill that would prove her well later on.

As she was growing up, Isabella grew up in a very posh environment. Thus, until she went to Hogwarts, Isabella did not understand how fortunate she was. It came as a shock to her that others could not afford to travel abroad every year, or did not have the opportunity to partake in hobbies. But the one thing she was singled out for was her skin colour. She was the only black girl in her posh school. She made up for this by always being impeccably dressed.

When Isabella turned 8, she began to feel the pressure to seem magical. Her older brother turned out to be a squib, something which ensured that Isabella was not the last picked anymore. And she desperately craved that to continue. So for two years, she desperately hoped that magical signs would appear for her. And finally, her wish came true.

Isabella went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin for her ambition, and her willingness to point out the flaws in other people. She excelled in Divination and Charms. She was far weaker in Transfiguration and Conjuring and Summoning. She played Quidditch on the Slytherin team and wrote in Spellbound for her time in Hogwarts. She made some friends, mostly from outside of her house. She was particularly fond of Ravenclaws. Other Slytherins did not like her, as she would be constantly snooping through their stuff. For spellbound, she would write gossip columns and point out others missteps. She graduated in the upper middle of her class.

During her time in Hogwarts, a terrible streak of misfortune befell her squib brother. Ever since, Isabella was determined to become an auror to fight for justice.

Once she graduated, Isabella applied for the furor training program. Her hawk like eyes and general nosiness and prying benefited her in the program, leading her to thrive. As she was not terribly confident in combat (partially due to how short she was), Isabella rose to the Investigations External Affairs division at the Auror office. She is considered to be very competent at her job, despite her distractibility, and the fact she is always seeming to be going to a new destination and drinking fine wine.

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
Blasted reporters, Isabella thought as she was walking through the alley. Noticing the reporter pestering some poor man, Isabella's brown eyes narrowed. She was on duty today, so she was trying to blend in. Therefore, she was only wearing a black suit. But if someone cared to notice, they would see the suit was made of the finest material.

She was on her way to interview a witness who had critical knowledge of a case, so she didn't have time to stop. Not today. There was too much riding on Isabella Pickering making it to the interview on time. Plus, she heard that the pub they were meeting at served a rare kind of wine, something Isabella wanted to taste badly.

The woman was planning on walking right past the reporter when she tripped and fell. And started to make a huge racket. Isabella bent down and hissed in her posh accent "That's what you deserve for being out here pestering the innocent people here. If I wasn't in such a rush, I'd hex you right this minute and arrest you for disorderly conduct." She then begrudgingly offered her hand to help the woman up.
