Biography:
The first enemy that Castor had ever known was his own father.

From the earliest age where his brain could process what feelings were, the only thing he felt more acutely than his father's hatred for him was Castor's own loathing for Richard Ricardus.

Castor might be the man's only son but in Richard's mind he was also the reason his wife was dead. It had always been clear to Castor that his father blamed him for his mother's death. It was true that his birth date was the same as her death date but even Castor, as young as he was, understood that there was no way it was his fault. If anything, it was Richard's. Castor's oldest sister, Estella, had been old enough at the time to remember how much Richard had talked to their mother about trying for just one more child, desperate for a boy, disregarding her poor health.

In the end Richard had gotten that boy but it cost him the only thing he'd ever seemed to love. At least other than himself.

Despite their more than eleven year age difference, Estella was the sister he was closest to. He wouldn't go so far as to say he loved her or even felt much in the way of a sibling bond; she had been away at school most of his life, but when she was at home Castor witnessed her being treated only slightly better than he was. While Richard showed occasional warmth and some form of strained affection to his other three sisters, Castor watched as Estella was given everything she wanted with no more than a few words and not so much as a glance in her direction. Which was probably what she really wanted; love from the only parent she had left.

Instead of expressing how she felt about their father's actions, however, Estella had always hid behind her bubbly, whimsical personality. He could tell his oldest sister would rather live in a fantasy world than face reality. Which probably made her even more broken on the inside than he was.

He often wondered if Estella could guess the reason she was treated differently than the other girls. Castor wondered too, for a while. As the grew up, the reason became pretty evident to him. With nothing more than photographs to know his mother by, Castor had spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours studying her face. As Estella aged it was apparent that she looked more like their mother than the other three girls.

It was just another thing that Richard punished one of his children for when it was completely out of their hands.

Being almost completely ignored by your only parent did have its perks. Castor may have grown up hardened with very little empathy for everything around him, he did grow up being able to do just about anything he wanted.

He was still part of the Ricardus family, though, and if watching his male cousins was any indication he wouldn't be able to get away with doing whatever he wanted for too long.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Probably best to go with Slytherin

Personality: Cool and calculating, Castor is convinced he doesn't need anyone in his life unless he can actually see the advantage for himself in having them around. He likes to think he doesn't feel anything but really he pushes everything away for as long as possible.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Standing atop a random, rickety bench in the gardens to increase the boy's height, icy blue eyes narrowed to slits surveyed the layout surrounding him.

Castor took note of where the various paths that he could see led, which paths converged with each other and, most importantly, which paths led out of the gardens. His eyes also took in the different plants and other flora, the colors ranging from an eye-burning vibrant orange to just plain white.

He took no pleasure from what he saw, he had not travelled to the gardens to gasp over the beauty of the foliage, to wonder at how the world contained such a vast majority of different organisms and how he was lucky enough to be able to experience it all right here at Hogwarts.

No, his trip to the gardens was simply a means to an end.

Knowing it would take a very long time, Castor hadn't wasted any in setting out to study Hogwarts. He liked to know his environment, it gave a sense of control, and as he'd be spending the better part of seven years here he wanted to learn what he could.

He had spent eleven years getting to know as many secrets of Ricardus Hall as he could and Hogwarts would be no different. Except for that there were probably thousands of more discover here.

His first days at the castle had passed rather dully. At the Opening Feast Calista had actually thought to come and congratulate him on his sorting. Castor had merely glowered at his sister and was rid of her company. She always had been a silly creature and so easily frightened.

As he was counting the number of paths and assigning them a number based on how handy they would be in an escape, one being the fastest and easiest, Castor heard some scuffling nearby accompanied with someone speaking. He paid no mind, focused on the task at hand.

His eyes had just followed path number three out to the very edge of the garden when an interruption came again, this time more acute.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Slowly, as to emphasize how little he was concerned with the person addressing him, Castor's eyes swivelled around to land on a boy standing in one of the flowerbeds. The oddity of the boy's position registered with Castor's brain but none of the curiosity showed on his face.

"No, I don't not need your help." His tone conveyed he had no interest in continuing the conversation, yet he added, "Why would I stare at you? You are probably the least fascinating thing here."

do you remember the twenty-first night of september?
love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away
our hearts were ringing in the key that our souls were singing
as we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away
