Biography: (300 words minimum.)
"A name is only as important as you make it," a female's voice spoke with confidence.

"Only someone with a less important name would say that," Sage echoed with a chuckle. He sat on a velvet couch across from the redhead, observing her as the pair spoke. His legs stayed crossed, and arm lounged lazily across the top of the soft piece of furniture. "It's easy to say such a thing when your name holds no weight, when you don't have expectations holding you down."

A lie. Mostly. The only expectations set upon him were what he bestowed on himself. A shift of uncomfortable silence loomed over the pair for a moment or two. Most likely for the woman to think of another approach for the issue at hand. "Tell me more about your family, Mr. Tanteo."

"My mother was a muggle, seduced by my father. She worked for his family - they own a law firm, you know, as purebloods do," he spoke, gaze intent on the woman. "Of course, it was forbidden because of her background, ya know? So, long story short, my father sends me away to live with my mother."

"And was that hard for you to deal with? As a child?"

"Well, it wasn't the best feeling," he again chuckled at her ridiculous question. "No son understands why his father doesn't want him. If they did, we wouldn't have alcoholic sons, now, would we?"

"But you've done well for yourself, have you not?" she spoke with curiosity gleaming in her eyes. "You graduated from Hogwarts; you took up magical enforcement training. And you're working on your drinking, taking responsibility. You've done well, Sage."

A hard pill to swallow, difficult to keep down. He hadn't been doing well, not in the slightest. Not if he was sitting on her couch.

"Suppose that's easy to do when you're an only child with no father and an overbearing mother," he smiled weakly.

She didn't know all of the shady dealings he had engaged in after leaving the Ministry ten years ago. He hadn't told her where he had been working for the past decade. No, Sage Romero Tanteo was not one to give the entire truth, only what he knew would please the person in question. It was how he had survived for the past thirty-five years and counting.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response: *****
The clouds moved with the crowds along the busy streets of wizarding London. Fluffy white puffs sail across the clear blue sky, a much better day of weather than the previous. The sun was shining, something Sage was grateful for. He was about over the incessant rain that seemed to plague him during the summer.

As the man walked along the busy cobblestone, he thought about the bad luck and how, perhaps, it was finally letting up. A new set of wizards chess was tucked under his left arm while his right hand carried a steaming cup of coffee. A late night called for some added caffeine, something to put a pep in his step. It seemed as if it would be needed that afternoon.

A female’s frantic voice caught his attention. A cock of his chin and Sage’s narrowed eyes searched for the woman in question. It didn’t take long for him to find the redhead sat on the ground with a broken shoe. He pushed through the crowd, slightly annoyed that he felt the need to help her. The poor man wasn’t even finished with his coffee. Teeth gripped the cup in order to offer a hand. An impatient nod followed with the movement of his hand, willing her to take it if she wanted help.

Hi Sage,

Your application looks great, there's just one thing I'll need to clarify before we can get you accepted: do you have permission from the owner of Smuggler's Cove Antiquities (Poseidon St. Oswald) for Sage to be the new manager of the shop?

Also, for awareness, please note that any darker plots require a special request, even if they've occurred in the past. You don't need to submit a special request for Sage's shady background currently or change anything in your application, but be aware that if you plan to go into more detail/specifics and his history does involve darker or more complicated plotlines, you'll need to submit a special request to thread that.

No need to repost your whole application, but if you could respond below regarding the permission for shop management, we can go ahead and get you accepted. Thanks!
cherry lips, crystal skies
i could show you incredible things

stolen kisses, pretty lies
you're the king, baby, i'm your queen
