Biography:

Cherry was born into the loud!

The fifth-born McCormick was right in the middle of the pack, forever unsure of where she stood in the family. She would never be the oldest and wasn’t even the littlest very long before the rest of the babies were born. She didn’t even get a proper birthday, sharing that with Jesus Christ or whatever. Christmas overshadowed her birthday always, even if her mum tried to make it special every year.

Charlotte Margaux McCormick was not one to live in the shadows, though. She grandly rose to the occasion. She would not be ignored or forgotten just because she was stuck right in the middle. So she was loud and bold and brash, barreling through life like she’d been spit out by a thunderstorm right in the middle of winter.

She never liked when things got too quiet. If there was a pot to be stirred, you could always count Cherry to be right there, laughing wickedly and stir, stir, stirring it while tossing in things that went hiss, hiss, bang, BOOM! One of her favorite pastimes was poking at things until they reacted.

Because what was life if you weren’t breaking things or starting something on fire?

Cherry was finally starting Hogwarts and she couldn’t have been happier. Sure, things at home were getting weird and strange and different, but she wasn’t going to let that slow her down. With her best brother Fin in her House (--if that stinkin’ hat knew what was good for it!--) and her best friend Elliot at her side, she was ready to take the castle by storm!

oh yea, and the rest of her siblings and cousins, they were cool, too.

Ready or not, Hogwarts, Cherry is on a runaway train headed right for ya!

Chugga chugga choo CHOO!

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet traveled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Cherry was lurking in the shadows, waiting for her friend to show up. Some people were afraid of the dungeons. But not Cherry because Cherry McCormick wasn’t afraid of a single thing in the entire world, thank you very much! So, no, the dark didn’t bother her. The warning chill in the air was shrugged away. Not a single thing was creeping her out.

But she was bored.

So bored that if she didn’t find something to do within the next 32 seconds, her brain was going to explode and leak right out of her nose and ears and eyes. Which would be less boring, but more gross. And then she’d have to go on and get a new brain. She was fairly certain that you could buy one in Knockturn Alley, but who had the time?

Luckily, her boredom was coming to an end.

Some silly girl was hollering through the dungeons, calling for that dead girl that was rumored to haunt the place. A wicked grin spread over her lips and she got to work. First she ripped one sleeve of her shirt. It was easy because there’d already been a little hole that she was picking at, making it bigger every time. Then she mussed up her hair so it looked like she’d been in a fight.

Finally, she cleared her throat. There was a beat of silence and then–

Cherry let out a bone-chilling scream and went limp-running towards the voice. One hand was pressed firmly into her side like she might be holding a wound. “S-she got me,” she gasped, “We gotta get outta–”

And Cherry fell to the ground, curled on her side so that she could hide the fit of giggles that was coming on.

Biography: (100 words minimum.)

Cherry was born into the loud!

And that was how she lived her life. Loud and big and bold! It wasn’t even really a choice for her, really. It was just the way she was. Like how some people had yellow hair and some people had brown eyes. Cherry was born bold.

Maybe it was because she had so many siblings. She didn’t know. She didn’t think too much about it really. She just barreled through life the same way she’d always done. With momma saying she was dramatic and papa letting her do anything in the whole world because he was wrapped around her little fingers.

Lily and Scar were kind of hard for her to keep up with, so much of her six years of life had been spent trying her best to keep up with her big brothers Joey and Finny instead. They were a little older than her, but she called  herself their triplet to whoever would listen.

She wasn’t a baby anymore. And she was ready to let the world know that. And the world would listen.

Because she had a plenty loud voice to make them hear hear roar.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

“What are the boys doin’?” Cherry asked, clinging to her Aunt Mar’s fingertips as they paced through the park, “I don’t wanna play in no stinkin’ park with just you, Auntie.” Glancing up at the woman, she pulled a dimpled grin on her lips and batted her lashes innocently, “No fence, only you’re a little old and plus you don’t even like to get dirty!”

She liked her Aunt quite a lot. She was good for playing dress up and buying her lots of clothes. But she also got really annoyed when Cherry scuffed up new outfits. It was silly, really. Shoes were meant to be run in! What a crazy way to think of a pair of shoes. Cherry glared down at the shiny black shoes that clip-clopped when she walked.

”You! ...Do you want to play?”

Cherry considered the girl for just a moment. She seemed to be chasing after her brother or something. “Okay!” She sat down and tugged her feet out of the shoes and took off barefoot in the grass, “But ya gotta catch me first!”
