Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Claudia Dornan was born in 1928. Her father was the last of his name and was sorely disappointed in having a daughter. He had tried for years to have a child and while Claudia was a girl, she at least was alive and well. Throughout her childhood her mother had difficult keeping a pregnancy. Eventually she was able to carry to term. The child was healthy but was not male. She was named Cambria.

Her mother only lived a year after that and left a four year old and a one year old for her husband to take care of. He tried, but he was a broken man. He had lost his wife and his line was doomed to die with him. Claudia had to pick up the slack and learn to take care of herself as well as her sister. Their fortune was small but ties to the Prothero family kept their heads above water. Claudia’s father worked for Harmon Prothero, who was a generous man to those who served him well.

Still, Claudia was left to run the household. Her father’s health also began to fail and he was left unable to do much of anything. Angered by his circumstances, he took a lot of it out on Claudia, who spat it back right at him.

When Claudia was eleven, Cambria was devastated to see her go to Hogwarts. Claudia felt sorry to leave Cambria at home, but longed to get away and only have to worry about herself for once. Claudia was sorted into Slytherin and loved every minute at Hogwarts. By the time Cambria turned eleven, Claudia had made quite a name for herself. She was beautiful and charismatic. And while she wasn’t the smartest she managed to butter up her professors or the smarter students to improve her marks. Cambria was much more shy and her name was forgotten most of them time. She was known as ‘Claudia’s baby sister.’

By the time she turned 17 her father had died. After graduation she had made arrangements with the Protheros to house her and her sister. The idea behind the arrangement was for Claudia to marry one of Harmon’s grandsons. And since Claudia was now Cambria’s legal guardian she was allowed to stay at the castle as well. Cambria was only 15 at the time, but she was growing into quite a beautiful young woman. She drew more attention from the young male suitors than Claudia did. Sickened by them being so perverse as well as being overshadowed, Claudia zeroed in on Mathis. Claudia copied the mannerisms of her younger sister that attracted him. However, Claudia was not as timid and shy as Cambria was. It didn’t take long from Mathis to fall completely in love with Claudia. They married quickly and Claudia was pregnant within no time. Her first was a boy named Morton

Unfortunately Claudia grew tired of pretending for Mathis. She found him incredibly dull and started to have feelings for Octavian Prothero. He did not feel the same, but had a moment of weakness one night. He told her it was a mistake and that it would never happened again. Claudia returned to Mathis and shortly after prepared to have another child. She would be named Dahlia.

A year after Claudia became pregnant again despite the couple despising each other. Although Mathis disliked his wife, he still found himself attracted to her. About a year after Dahlia was born, they had another girl. They named her Valerie. Two years later Claudia had her second son, Hume. He was a brilliant boy, but had a difficult time relating to others. Claudia believed that Hume possible had an inner eye and that his powers interfered with his sense of reality. Mathis believed he was just unstable. Hume was kept away from the public for his own safety and was hardly seen by much of the family.

”Such a shame it took it us all these years to become friends,” Claudia said smiling at Moira before taking a sip from her glass. If Claudia wanted the seat at the head of the family, she needed someone much smarter than her. Moira was bright, and had a vendetta against her father, the current head of the family. She was perfect. And while Claudia was an expert charmer, she did not think too highly of herself. At least, not to the point where she believed her usual charms had won over her stoic sister-in-law. There had to something in it for Moira. The answer would become clearer in time.

Claudia lowered her glass and smiled. She had so many ideas she wanted to tell Moira. There was so much she wanted to do. She opened her mouth to talk on, but the voice of a young girl spoke over hers. Claudia almost kicked the child for pulling at her hem. Claudia’s smiled vanished and she quickly looked over at their waiter. What sort of establishment let stray children wander in? Claudia turned and looked the child up and down. She didn’t recognize her. Must not be a child of much importance. But they were in public and appearances needed to be kept.

“Oh my darling girl, Sambundeakin has you to look after him, he shouldn’t be scared. But I’m sure your mother is scared stiff. Tell me, when did you last see her?” Claudia asked.
