THE BASICS
Name: George P. LaFleur

Former Character's Name (if you had one): Peter Franklin-Lahm Florence Snodgrass, PW Finch.

CHARACTER DETAILS
House Request:
George is not a bookworm but he’s picked up a number of things and catches on rather quickly. He has terrific beginners luck but often loses interest if it becomes too easy or boring. If it doesn’t come naturally to him then he doesn’t pursue it unless he finds whatever it is to be imperative. He has more luck with common sense, understanding unspoken rules (and occasionally breaking them) and he is very socially adept. Then again, having knowledge of social courtesies also means having the ability to disregard them.

George is skilled at figuring out the least amount of work he needs to do to get by. He also likes frustrating people.

Year:
6th for first choice 7th for second choice

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Transfiguration

Biography:
Life is hard when your mansion is crumbling to pieces because your father has gambled, smoked, and drank the family fortune away. The LaFleur family has been forced to be creative and resourceful to keep up their good name and image, though everyone knows George's father is a mess. Or ill, his mother calls it.

George has an older sister, Jeanne. She has a dry and dark sense of humor. And though she seems stoic she can’t help but cave in whenever her mother’s eyes shimmer with tears. She wants nothing but to run away and not feel guilty about it. He also has a younger sister, Josephine. George finds it a bit disturbing how comfortable his younger sister seems in such a dysfunctional house. George’s mother is a saint according to Jeanne. And George has never understood what his mother saw in his father. To Jeanne their father, Silvain, is just a man. George thinks he’s a failure and a drunk. And Josephine likes spending time with her father, even if he is passed out in a chair.

For years George has tried to be the family hero. He succeeded more or less but during the Inter-School Games two years ago he felt he did not perform as well as he should have. In addition to that an American by the name of Wayne Ballard Clausewitz slept with his older sister, Jeanne. After making a scene at the Inter-School Ball over it, he had been on thin ice with his instructors. George's priorities changed after that, and he became a bit notorious throughout the school. His favorite vice being girls. And when he was caught in a compromising position with Manon Deschamps, he took full responsibility and was expelled.

Now his mother has had enough grief from him and his father. George and Silvain, were shipped off to England. George was sent to his Uncle's and his father to rehab. It's unlikely things could get worse. But George has learned his lesson from tempting fate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
George’s prized is a goblin made ring he inherited from his father. It’s an heirloom that’s been passed to the oldest male in the family. Though on occasion it’s been given to the favorite son.
Also George studied dance at first at Beauxbatons, but he switched to History. He doesn’t talk much about it, although he still has his moves.

Personality:
On a bad day George can be very cynical. If you have a dream, he’ll attack it and try to bring you down with his bad mood. He is not exactly self-centered, but he’s learned he can only really be in charge of himself. And even then it’s difficult to take charge now and again.
On a typical day George is fairly pleasant, a bit too playful and mischievous on occasion. He likes sleeping and being in places he’s not supposed to be. There’s nothing with some healthy banter, but he makes it clear when he’s done being poked fun of.
George likes Quidditch, dueling but has given it up, fencing, kissing girls, French toast, licorice wands, brunettes, Wayne, high fives, and challenging authority.
George dislikes his father, busy work, arrogance, injustice, Wayne, cats, beads, orange juice, flowers, and being wrong.

Appearance:
George is well built, tall, with blue eyes and short sandy blond hair. Lately he’s experimented between being a blond and a brunette. He feels he looks and acts more like his father everyday and so the brown hair is a nice change. Occasionally he feels brown looks dingy and he changes it back.
He’s fairly sturdy looking and well fit and surprisingly flexible. He has a fairer complexion and keeps himself pretty well groomed but keeps his morning routine pretty simple.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY

“Oh, come now!"

Astrid Bixby’s voice carried down the corridor, the tall blonde girl not far behind. Her interviewee – or victim, depending on perspective – turned a corner and she frowned. They were always so elusive when she needed them. Sure, they would talk as if there was no tomorrow during class, but once she actually needed them to say something, they were nowhere to be found. Gryffindors.

Flustered, Astrid stopped in the middle of the corridor and stared, her parchment hanging limply from her hand. She was a good reporter, really, and she always did her best to make sure that everything she wrote was accurate. She glanced down to the quill, eyeing it with disdain. It wasn’t her fault if her quill misquoted. How was she supposed to know? It made for interesting articles, at least, and if she had misquoted the Head Boy last term as saying he had a love for stuffed animals, then that gave him personality. Astrid sighed.

A pout formed on her lips as she turned away, discouraged. The corridor was mercifully empty, though the doors to The Spellbound – the school newspaper – were ominously closed. Corbridge was a mercifully sweet editor, but Astrid was terrified of disappointing her all the same. She had to come back with quotes.
Her eyes, blue, trailed her surroundings before choosing a new path, and she turned down a new corridor. A figure was ahead, and her eyes lit up, an impossibly rosy smile blossoming across her lips.

“Hey!” Astrid called, her voice light and singsong. She trotted to catch the person, her shoes clicking on the stone floor. “Wait up! It’s for the paper!” Her legs aided her admittedly poor running, and Astrid gasped as she came closer. “What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross.”

“Hey!”

Handsomeness was a blessing and a curse. Girls found him irresistible, and made fools out of themselves just to talk to him. Sometimes a glass was enough to quench them.  George walked down the corridor and touched his mouth, hiding his flicker of a smile. He pretended to wipe something form his mouth and with that motion his grin was removed. He placed one hand in his pocket and continued walking. Acting like the girl’s efforts at getting his attention weren’t enough.

“Wait up! It’s for the paper!”

George stopped and turned to her. Just for the paper? Yeah right. He hadn’t heard that excuse before. Well… maybe it was for the paper. He’d hear her out he guessed. He listened to her, looked down in thought, and then back up at her face. Fairly cute, a little too excited but one couldn’t hate on a girl’s spirit. He shifted his weight took in a breath and exhaled quickly.

“Seriously? This is for the paper? An article about whether or not we should serve frog legs at school? That sounds horrible. Do us all a favor and write about something else like. An article on flobberworms would be more fascinating,” George told her. No wonder she was chasing after people so desperately. It was shame, he was hoping for a reason to skip his next class. Apparently she wasn’t going to give him one.
