Biography:
Back before the second World war, lived a woman who was always caring for her sick grandparents. One day, a man from Rome had entered China, with the job of trading with China's well known spices. The woman, working along side the  man for a few days, had eventually fallen in love with him, however, she was unable to leave Shanghai due to her parent's illnesses. Thus, the man stayed in China, writing letters to his family in Rome. The woman herself was a half blood, while the man was a Muggle-born. On January 23rd, 1930, a small blessing to the small family was born.

Reina lead a life that was quite hectic, as Shanghai was a busy, busy city. Her parents ran a market in the area, and so she lived in the building, usually going out to play, or staying in and studying. She was aware about the use of magic at the age of 4 years old, and her mother always talked about it with her. Her father appeared to sometimes be left out, as he didn't learn much magic as a child, while the mother did. However, Reina was just a little bottle of happiness, trying her best to cheer up her parents when something went wrong. They lead a nice life as a small family of three, even though everything was always so loud, merchants yelling onto the streets every morning, the sounds of cars driving around, and the such.

Aside from her parents, Reina had a very close bond with her grandparents. They taught her about all the myths and legends passed from generations, much to Reina's delight. Reina was always helping her parents by treating her grandparents and keeping them company when mother and father were out. At the time, she was unable to attend school, and fairly little people spoke english. However, she was able to learn basic mathematics, along with the Chinese, and Roman languages with the help of her family.

In 1937, Reina's grandparents had passed away, causing her mother to grieve for a long, long time. Reina, 7 years old at the time, kept crying and crying, almost as hard as her mother when she was alone. After watching her mother cry for longer than she had, Reina came to the conclusion that she mustn't cry anymore, to be strong for her mother. Her naive little mind convinced her that if she stayed happy, everything would be alright. Sadly, the little girl thought wrong, and her parents began constantly fighting. She would always have to huddle in her bed, covering her ears as the screams and the crying were heard in the other room, pretending that she couldn't hear it. What made things worse was that she understood them clearly, and every night, she was listen to the arguments until both parents calmed down and went to bed. As much as Reina wanted to do something, she could not.

In 1938, at the age of 8, Reina's parents have been thinking about a divorce however, they don't dare say anything about this to the naive and innocent Reina. They refuse to say anything to the child and they have stopped talking to each other all together. Reina had found that strange, and the once bubbling child had quieted down, due to witnessing the cruel reality, even though there was magic.

On March 5th, 1939, 9 year old Reina's parents have divorced. Her father returned to Rome, while her mother claimed guardian ship over their only child. They continued living as a family as two, however, her mother slowly fell into depression from the loss of her parents, the years of stress, and finally, the divorce with her loved one. Reina continued speaking with her mother, however, their conversations slowly died out with time.

Once Reina had turned 11, she and her mother started arguing more often since she was 'at that age' at this point. She wanted to study magic, and other languages. Not just Roman and Chinese; she wanted to go to school. Her mother greatly opposed to this, asking why she would want to go to a school, when she could stay at home and help her at the market? Her mother started spouting nonsense from her poor mental state, and eventually snapped, refusing to talk to Reina all together. She eventually gave Reina permission to do whatever she pleased, which also meant that she was allowed to attend a magic school. Later that year, she had received a letter from Hogwarts, explaining that she was able to attend the school. She was right on time for the train, and so was able to make it for the term.

Through her first few years, she was more silent, as she didn't have much experience around others her age, being surrounded by adults all her life. She was much more interested in the arts of Summoning and Conjuring, however on the other hand, she was weak with charms, since she could never get them for whatever reason despite doing well with Transfiguration. That was when she was determined to become a better witch, after witnessing all the other student's hard work.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: She has learnt basic english from attending Hogwarts and interacting with others, and so is able to speak and write in complete sentences. She is also learning a little bit of Scottish, due to being in Scotland.

House Request: Ravenclaw

Personality:
Despite the harsh past, she is able to stay brave, cheery, and somewhat ditzy and clumsy. She doesn't hold grudges, and is usually one of the last people that would be made upset. However, she does get frustrated when she can't do something, but she chooses to stay quiet about it and silently throw a tantrum to herself. She still acts childish, but she can be mature when she is forced to, and can be somewhat strategic, even though it can backfire on herself. Also, she loves learning new things, let it be spells, languages, or old scripts. She can also be somewhat oblivious and insensitive at times, but only because she chooses to be blunt with what she says. She truly does care for others, even though she may hate their guts.

Also, due to her nationality, she is somewhat obsessive with her marks. She wouldn't go as far as to harm someone for her own benefit, but she would be frustrated if she were to get any marks any lower than near perfect. However, she is also carefree, and somewhat forgetful, at times, lazy. She also tends to be motherly without realizing, scolding someone even if t weren't her business, and she isn't very honest with her own emotions, and tends to be set off or shy away when complimented, unless around professors and such.

Appearance:
Taking off Chinese genes, she is petite in structure, and one may mistaken her for a Second or Third year. Her hair is a very dark brown colour, fading into a lighter hazel colour near the tips. She chose to curl it a little bit, and she looks like a doll or something. Despite being in Ravenclaw, she is quite a bright character, and does take care of her appearance just as much as she would take care of her marks and studying.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

~~~~~~
Reina had been planning a visit to the dungeons for some reason, as she didn't have much to do aside from studying and what not. Although it was out of character for her to not be studying, she thought that it would be good to pay a visit down there and 'pay her respects for the punished dead'. She was strange, but most people weren't any more 'normal' than she was. The dark haired girl began slowly approaching the entrance, just to make sure no one was watching her and a small, childish smile crept onto her face.
She, herself, had actually visited the dungeon a few times, since her upperclassmen had dared her, a wonderful time that was. At first, she was no better than a shaking, timid cat who was on their last life, but now, it was one of her favourite places, ironically, it was quiet, apart from the occasional thumping or voices from the upper floor, but she liked it. Perhaps, the last time she was down there was when she was looking for the Potions' Classroom, only to get lost and run around like a dog chasing their tail.
Perhaps it was because of the houses, since she never had to go down unless it were for classes or whatever, and she had always found that new students of certain houses had to commit some sort of act to prove themselves, like how she had to score perfect to be accepted by people in Ravenclaw.
How troublesome, she thought.
As the girl finally made her way down the stairs, her footsteps resonated throughout the hallway and the corridor. It didn't help how she wasn't walking quickly, and it made the atmosphere feel even more creepy. It wasn't her intention though, the dungeons were naturally like this; they were called the dungeons for thunder's sake. As she slowly made it to the bottom, what caught her eye wasn't the path to the Potions Classroom, even though it appeared very appealing to herself, instead, was a little girl. She was probably either a first year, or a second year, but that didn't really matter right now. Reina decided to stay silent, and that was when a name was called out by a soft voice, and she noted how the voice echoed throughout the entire dungeon.
The girl had guts coming down here, at least.
"Emma Birch?"
Wait, Emma Birch? Ah, that's probably what was happening. Reina couldn't help but to giggle at the girl a little bit, however tried her best not to come out too loudly. She was planning on letting the girl brave herself through this, since people can't grow without going through countless situations. Assuming that, she had never seen the girl before and based how she was acting all timid, searching for a ghost, Reina assumed that she was in Gryffindor, since they seemed to be proud and well known for their bravery.
Instead of coming out to greet the girl, Reina stayed silent, carefully observing her. She didn't know of anyone named Emma Birch, so it was probably just something to scare the first years to test them. Almost all the houses' upperclassmen tested the newly enrolled; and although finding it sad for the little first years, she also found it cute, how they got through things either with ease, or with hardships.
But the dungeons, man, those Gryffindors don't show much mercy, not like Ravenclaw showed any in the first place either.
