Biography:
The story of Ryker Basel started long before he was born.

It started with three brothers: Richard, Garfield, and Wayne. And also, another one who was unrelated but sure felt like a sister: Elaine.

The inseparable four lived in Rome, Italy. They were well loved and incredibly adored. Their mothers would chuckle under their breaths as Richard lead them, followed by Garfield and Wayne, with Elaine lagging behind. They would joke about how the four always looked like they were planning something together.

Oh, if they only knew.

The pureblood quadruple-threat team attended a magic school in Rome and then graduated. They each had children, and they never left each other’s side. They were a prime example of friends forever. Seemingly innocent, they lead normal lives and adored their children.

But on Richard’s fortieth birthday they were caught trying to overpower the Roman Ministry of Magic and things got bad… fast. All were killed for crimes against the Ministry, but their children were given second chances, as long as they never came back to their home again.

Calliara and Richard Junior, Richard’s only children, plus the others descendants went moved to Kyoto, Japan, in order to form a new life. Ryker was born the third of seven children, and you would not believe how many cousins he had. It was crazy, if you asked him.

He had a fine life in the manor. That’s right, manor. The Basels were powerful in Rome but lost all of their money after the original four’s demise. Ryker had never known how they got all of the money to rebuild their manor and live in luxury, but with a history as shady as his familiy’s, he had learned not to ask.

He was welcomed to the world on Christmas eve to Richard Junior and a Japanese woman, Michiko. (Pureblood woman, obviously.) The two smothered him, but he had a lot of fun as a young boy exploring the manor.

His father worked for a mega cooperation, and he was caught stealing from them. Once again, the family name had been tainted. Ryker’s family moved to Chicago, all the way in America. This was it. They were finally going to go all clean. And they did. Ryker attended the Chicago School For Magical Arts. (It was a great school, really, with a fantastic wandlore program, but it never did get the same attention Salem did) He made many friends and his grades were… okay.

At the end of school last year, one of his friends did a prank so horrible he could have been expelled... if he had not blamed it all on Ryker. So Ryker was sent to live with his aunt in London and the other boy got off free.

It infuriates Ryker, the nerve of that boy to get him kicked out of school like that. Who did he think he was? Not an actual friend, Ryker supposes.

Personality:

Rkyer is fun-loving and carefree. He's loud and full of laughter, easily amused and convinced to do something. He's bad-mannered, rude, and untidy, which might make him seem somewhat uncivilized. He has a hard time taking things seriously, laughing while fighting and thinking about Quidditch when he's supposed to be working. Though he knows his edges are a little rough, he considers himself to be a good person. He takes his friends very seriously, however, and is fiercely protective and loyal.

Appearance:

He takes pride in his appearance. Ryker isn't exactly skinny, or overweight, he's lean, and he believes it suits him well. He has a puff of blonde hair on top of his head, which he uses gel to spike it. He has blue-green eyes, sort of like the color of the sea. He has a pale complexion, even though he spends a lot of time outside.

Ryker couldn't find anything good to do.

All of his friends were busy. At the beginning of the school year he and his new friends had decided to take all the same classes so they could be together all the time. It turned out to be kind of a mistake. They had a big paper due tomorrow and Ryker had already convinced his sister to do it for him, so he was on his own.

And that was the bad thing about him, he figured. He didn't have much motivation except for fun. And he was creative (which was a good thing) and he got bored a lot, and the two were a perfect mix for trouble. And to be honest, that was what he was up to. He was still angry about his expulsion last year. If he had already been branded and absolute troublemaker, why not get into some?

And, yeah, that was what he was up to: trouble. It always seemed to catch his interest. The dungeons seemed to be the perfect place. It was dark and damp, so there was a lot to get into. He was sure of it.

But then he heard the worried call of what he knew to be a firstie, so he paused for a moment. Ryker liked a good joke, but this seemed to be a little cruel. She was a young thing, and seemed scared to her very core.

"Oh, no Emma Birch here," he reported to her cheerfully. "Those Gryffindor jerks got you, huh? How about we plan a little revenge?"
