Biography: (100 words minimum.)
He was four and unsure, having realized that the reason his mother cried softly at night and woke up with dark circles under her eyes wasn’t because of the messy drawings he left on the walls, but because of the man that refused to acknowledge them.

He was five and guilty, as he was sent home with another letter blaming him for the sudden mishaps that occurred around the classroom during his tantrums.

He was six and unafraid, hanging from the highest bar of the jungle gym, blissfully unaware of the blades of grass that swayed with every twist of his pudgy legs below him.

He was seven and proud, as he shoved his trophy at the face of the man who claimed to be his mother’s newest boyfriend. He’d be gone by the morning, and his mother would be as heartbroken as the last, but, still, the attention was nice.

He was eight and terrified, having wandered the city on the morning of his eighth birthday in search of his mother, and neighbor, and the old lady who sold his favorite scones across the street. 1974 was not starting out as he’d planned.

He was eight and four months when his father found him, fighting for the last stretch of blanket against the newest round of kids to enter the orphanage.

He was nine and uncomfortable, but slowly acclimating to the life of a bastard child.

He was ten and sore, as his step-mother’s cane came down on the backs of his knees for daring to sit beside his father at the table when “the servants sat in the kitchen.”

He was eleven and relieved, as he was told he was being sent to a different school than his half-siblings.

He was twelve and enraged, as his fist collided with his half-brother’s nose in a sickening crack. It seemed Durmstrang had taught him something Hogwarts had failed to teach them: respect.

He was thirteen and cocky, as he stared at the girl from across the room, knowing full well what she’d done with him behind her boyfriend’s back.

He was fourteen and trapped, as the third boyfriend that year cornered him with his friends, jumping him for the actions of a girlfriend he could barely control.

He was nearly fifteen when he’d had to explain to his father why he was kicked out for disorderly conduct, and fifteen when he met Addie Ross.

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Children were noisy, insolent beings.

If they weren’t spoilt, they were needy, and he’d had enough experience dealing with his own disgusting family members to last a lifetime.

Take the boy crying over his broken lollipop by the slide, for example. He hadn’t been shrieking half as loud when he’d stolen the candy away from another child far younger than him. But, damn, when Karma had come for him—Silas’ ears were still ringing.

The teenage boy adjusted his posture as he sat waiting for his date to arrive, lending one arm to the back of the bench he was lounging on.

”You!” His lazy gaze settled on the girl calling for attention. He’d seen her attempts at riding the child-proof broom and had tensed when she’d reared too close to the ground, all too afraid he’d have to deal with more shrieking if she fell.

An eyebrow cocked regardless. “Me?”

"...Do you want to play?"

How brave.

“Didn’t your mother teach you not to speak to strangers?”
