Biography: (100 words minimum.)
As the spoiled youngest child and only son of Axel Emerson, Ox never lacked for aught. While they never quite stated they were rich, it was clear from their impressive estate, fine appointments, top-of-the-line broomsticks and well-tailored clothes that his family had means. Despite his young age, Ox makes sure to live up to the image, keeping his dark curls combed and finger nails clean.

For the most part, his older sisters, the twins -- well they're alright, except they don't seem to take him very seriously. This is a problem for Ox because he's smarter than they are, with big ambitions and bigger ideas, and he becomes quite cross and impossible to deal with the second they laugh off his complaints.

Ox Emerson does not enjoy being laughed at.

Life was grand until Tippa Lackless landed on their doorstep, his cousin who could not be less like Oxford. Constantly filthy, crass and care-free, she quickly formed the antithesis of everything he aspired to be. As long as she played outside in the summer and left him alone, he could ignore her the majority of the time.

While he can't practice magic yet, he studies it well, looking forward to the opportunity to hone his skills and reputation, earning himself the respect he deserves.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Sitting on the bench in the way his father sat, with one ankle across his knee, Oxford had no real interest in the goings-on around him. Instead, he read a book stolen from his cousin, which had a spine so stiff he doubted she'd bothered to crack it open at all. While her incomprehensive interest in magical studies was astounding, he did appreciate that her typically grubby fingers hadn't marked any of the crisp pages.

Today was yet another day he'd managed to ditch his brand new nanny, who had all kinds of notions about the things a young man should be doing, like many of the nannies before her. No, he was not interested in kicking around the football or pushing around toy cars. And she wasn't a witch, either, meaning the Statute of Secrecy forbade him from reading Tippa's discarded books in her presence.

Ox didn't understand why his mother couldn't just obliviate her when she returned from work, but whenever he pressed the subject, Mum just became increasingly exasperated, as if he was being deliberately obtuse, which was incredibly frustrating.

So, engrossed in his book, he didn't pay any mind to what the other children were doing, until a shrill "You!" interrupted his sentence about the dual purpose of tapestries decorating the halls of Hogwarts.

Peering crossly over the tome, he eyed the girl who'd asked and the broom she'd apparently been riding.

"No," he answered reflexively. Then, after a brief consideration, "Play what?"

He wasn't going to risk getting his day clothes dirty when he had no play clothes to change into, but maybe she had some decent ideas.
