Biography:

He’s just 11 years old, but he’s already forced to learn and take care of himself, alone. Why, because of him being part of family full of highly superstitious people. It was Alfonso’s seven years birthday when they found out about it all – yes, his magical skills didn’t show up before that day. It all happened, when Alfonso was opening up his presents, he had been hoping to get a brand new game console, but no matter how many presents he opened, that never showed up. He got angry, and all of sudden, the silver plates his mother was using to serve the birthday dinner from, were falling into thousands of pieces. Couple of smaller presents Alfonso didn’t like seemed to have vanished during that night, too, as nobody found them afterwards… But the main thing is, Alfonso’s family freaked out. They believed that their son was cursed. Next day, Alfonso’s father took his son to the center of London and told him they weould send him money once in a week. He could pay the rent for a room with that money, as well as buy something to eat with it. But basically he was left alone.

Alfonso’s parents, as well as the whole family are muggles. His father works as safety guard in a local super market, and his mother is an office worker at the local, small business. His big brother, also muggle, just entered university, majoring with psychology. And then there’s Alfonso, young wizard, waiting for his first day at Hogwarts.

Boy’s appearance is pretty typical for a boy like him, one with a Scandinavian roots. There’s something about the shape of his face that is screaming about the fact that his whole family is originally from Denmark and that they’ve just moved to the UK later. He’s got bright, blue eyes that will, together with the most awesome smile he has, do the kind of magic that will get the girl. He’s also got an orange, almost red hair, that he loves more than anything else about his looks. He’s got couple of moles on his upper body and his left arm, but they are usually hidden under his clothes, so you can’t really see them, which is fine because he’s a bit of ashamed of those. He’s slightly shorter than the boys around his age are on average, which make him feel a bit awkward around other people; it makes him want to stretch out for being able to seem at least a bit taller than he is, for real.

Personality:

Alfonso really enjoys being in the center of attention! He’s got a high self-esteem and he just loves attention. His emotions tends to shift rapidly, which means that one second he can seem to be really happy about his life, and then on another second, he suddenly feels like he hates everything about his life. Sometimes, even though he’s still young and he probably shouldn’t put that much focus on it, he’s really concerned over his looks! He can easily spend a lot of time in front of the mirror just adjusting his hair.

His weak point is the fact that he can’t make decisions, and it’s been like that since he was little kid. He spends way too much time thinking about which move to take and most of the time the opportunity isn’t waiting for him to make his move, that way he’s left out again.

He’s a hard working student, as well, which can be easily seen by the fact that he spends a lot of time at the library, reading more about the topics he had been recently speaking about with other people, whatever it was. It’s no wonder, if you’ll meet him at the school’s library after the classes, basically taking a closer look at all the many things he’d been learning about during his classes.

My response for option 1:

With his stomach rumbling Alfonso walked towards the Great Hall, he felt a bit sad for not seeing the quidditch game today but then again, he didn’t really care about sports that much. He was more fan of a muggle sports, such as football, and he only rarely went to see the quidditch games. Everyone else just seemed to think of him as some sort of an weirdo for not wanting to spend the every moment of his life at the quidditch pitch either playing or watching others play. Today, however, he had heard that the match have been interesting, and every time something was described with that word, it woke up his interest.

Closer he got to the Great Hall, the louder his stomach became, and he really couldn’t pay attention to things happening around him. He didn’t see any other people even he was possibly just staring at them while walking through the corridors, and passing through the doors. That’s why it was a pure shock to him, when he heard someone almost yelling at him right as soon as he got near his destination, Great Hall. He turned to look at the boy that had been raising his voice, and saw boy’s eyes shining with tars. He also paid attention to the fact that this boy was wearing muddy quidditch robes on, so it was easy to see the boy was part of the losing team of today’s game. But he still didn’t quite understand boy’s reactions; maybe he was just stressed after the game? Or did something really happen during the game? Something that had made the game so interesting, as they spoke?

He listened to the boy calmly, not even taking a step back even that was his first thought after the boy started yelling. He just listened to him and tried to smile him the way that could possibly make the boy calm down a bit. And then, he understood what he had said; ‘Why don’t you just take a picture?’ he repeated in his mind, wondering what would the boy mean with that, he had never heard anyone saying such things like that, but it was possibly just because he had been living all alone and not socializing with anyone really.

“Take a picture?” he asked feeling confused, but trying to hide that from the emotions showing up on his face, “Why would I do that?” he added, forcing a smile on his face. Knowing that those were probably the wrong kind of words to tell someone who was about to fall into slight depression was hard, he didn’t know how would the boy react, would he understand that Alfonso wasn’t just cruelly joking about it, that he really didn’t know? “Do you want to talk about it?” he asked, after staring into his watery eyes for a moment, deciding it would be best to try and have a conversation about it. That could be counted as the good act of the day and he could focus on being purely himself for the rest of the evening, not feeling bad.

But then, the time warp happened, and Alfonso got even more left out. One day he just noticed that the muggle guesthouse he was living in was gone. What made it even more complicated to him, was the fact that his favorite clothings were gone as well, as well as his favorite CD records, DVD films and all the things such as that. It took him couple of days of confusion, but with time, all the memories faded away and his head was starting to fill with new memories, that were there to replace his past. But nothing seemed to be able to take away the pain from his heart, knowing that he had lost his family, not just knowing why.
