Biography:
“Mummy, look!”
A stubby finger pointed over to the far corner of the garden, where a pesky gnome was peeking out from under the bushes.
‘Mummy’ wasn’t listening. She never listened.
“A ‘mome, Mummy!”
She daren’t tug at mothers’ house robe - Mummy hated it when she did that, so she decided to take care of the matter herself. The three year old pushed herself up onto her spindly legs, and, as sneaky as the cat, crept up to the creature, noting, as she did so, its likeness to a “Potatty”.
She was behind it now, and with a short arm reached for its waist - she’d seen Daddy de-gnome the garden of their small suburban London home before, by swinging the Gnomes around and throwing them over the fence.
Her own aim wasn’t so good. The gnome, it appeared, didn’t enjoy being grasped around the waist, and managed to wriggle out somewhat - Octavia managed only two, uncomfortable swings (‘Heavy’, noted the girl to herself) before the Gnome wrapped its chunky teeth around her thumb and bit down hard enough to force her to let go of it mid-swing; the gnomes’ head made contact with the fence, and it fell to the floor - only to get straight back up, laughing, of all things, and, which a parting bit of the three-year-olds’ ankle, ran straight back under the bush from which it had emerged.

Since that day, Octavia has had a near-debilitating fear of gnomes.

Personality:
Cold; she is often mean for the point of being mean. She has a few select things she cares about (her pets, a dog called Cordelia she has left entrusted with her cousin, and a cat called Puddin' who belonged to her cousin, mainly). Even with people she cares about, she is often obnoxious and abrasive.

She's vain, and egotistical, but she doesn't see this as a bad thing.

Appearance:
Octavia is pretty, and she knows it. She has naturally blonde hair she wears styled, and a heart-shaped face. Even though she is only eleven, she is aware of Make-Up and uses only lip-gloss and mascara at the most (perhaps eyeshadow for a special occasion).

It was three weeks into term, and yet Octavia hadn't really made friends. She had people she sat with at lunch - people she instructed to collect her a drink (sometimes they even did it (Octavia was only surprised when they didn't ...), and people to talk to in class. But none of them, really, were worthy of her company...

Except one person. There was one boy she had seen in her first week, and he was blonde, like her. (She liked blondes, because Brunette clashed ...) He was taller, though only just, and a second year.

She wanted to be the first one in her year to get a boyfriend.

And she wanted it to be that boy.

He was distracting, really, because no-one should be that blo-

There was a sloppy noise.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!"

Octavia's first reaction was to look at the state the tomato sauce had made her powder-blue uniform; her second action was to defend.

She reached out to pull the girl in closer.

"You better hope you're sorry. I've seen you, snaking about on your own, and it won't be hard to get revenge, without a teacher seeing."

Her hand snapped back to her side and she smiled maliciously.
