Biography:
Very little is known about Declan Anthony. The name itself was only given to him so that the Werdsworth family had something to call him other than “hey kid”. Almost two years prior he had fallen into their arms. He was found near the River Teith while the family was picnicking. He was stumbling around barely coherent babbling something about a wolf. Fearing that one of the creatures may have wandered onto the river bank, the Werdsworth clan quickly gathered up the boy and brought him to be examined by the families physician. Once he was finally able to string intelligible sentences together, he was questioned mercilessly about his where he had come from, his family, any bit of information that he could remember. The only thing that seemed to have stuck with him was the wolf, but aside from that there was absolutely nothing. Shock was the only answer that the family was given. That he must have experienced something so horrible that his mind had shut off in an effort to protect itself. The best thing for him now was to give him a stable environment and hope that something would jog his memory.

Being good hospitable people, Douglas and Anabel Werdsworth welcomed the boy into their home. The lord had not blessed them with a child of their own and while the child was not the bouncing babe that they had originally hoped for, the now middle aged couple believed him to be a gift and one that they would willingly accept. They named him Declan after Anabel's great grandfather and immediately began their life as a new family. However things with Declan wouldn't not be exactly what they had expected.

They realized he was different than most children upon enrolling him in school. It was hard for him to fit in. Even though he could remember things such as talking, basic movements, tying his shoes and the like, he had little recollection of anything else. He was constantly being picked on for his lack of intelligence. He was often bullied by the other children, and thats when it all started. At first it was little things. Sinks spraying them without anyone touching the faucet, shoe laces getting tied together as they chased him down the hall, locker doors flying open spewing their contents into their paths and tripping the menaces up. All of which were written off as mere coincidences at first. It wasn't until one of the bullies was found on the school roof after backing Declan into a corner just mere seconds before that people began to question what was happening.

No one more than Declan himself. He couldn't understand what was going with him. As far as he knew, (which wasn't much), magic did not exist. And yet here all of these strange things were happening around him. Prior to these events he had only a slight interest in finding out where he was from, but as things progressed he longed for someone to explain to him what made these things happen. It wasn't until after his eleventh birthday when he heard an odd tapping at the window that he received and answer. From an owl of all things.

House Request: N/A

Personality:
Declan is an extremely loyal individual. He is a fierce friend to the few that he has made since he was found by the Werdsworth clan, and will do just about anything to protect them and their interests. With this loyalty however comes a bit of an edge. Declan does not take rudeness too kindly and has yet to learn that you can't always fight fire with fire, which tends to get him into trouble. He has an affinity for forests and if there is even the mention of one near by, chances are he can be found there within a matter of moments. He can spend hours just climbing trees, sitting in their branches and enjoying the sun as it shines down through the leaves. It's the one place where he feels truly safe, where he can be himself, where he can sit and ponder all of life's important questions. His biggest fear happens to be the wolf. A creature that seems to haunt his dreams. While it terrifies him, for some reason he feels like it is the key to unlocking where he was from and what brought him into the hands of the Werdsworth's.

Appearance:
At the moment he is a bit of a bean pole. Average height but built like a rail. Short cropped dark hair and dark eyes with an abundance of freckles that he wishes he could hide.

Response 2:
Declan marched through the school, a bit of parchment clutched tightly in hand. He had paid an older student three sickles for paper. It was supposed to be an enchanted map that would help him find his way around the castle. When it was first shown to him, it showed what Declan assumed was a perfect map of the school. Now all it flashed at him were obscenities and rude remarks about his freckles and how sun spots were meant for the elderly. Balling the useless thing up in his first, trekked on in search of the doors leading to the courtyard.

He had heard that there was a forest on the edge of the school grounds. Technically he wasn't supposed to be there but the stress of being in a new school was getting to him. While he generally considered him to be an adventurous sort, finding out that he was in fact a wizard and that he would not be allowed home for a year was a bit nerve wracking. And while he hoped that being in a school for wizards would be different than going to school with muggles, (as they were so warmly called), Declan was quickly finding out that magical children were no different than the children in his old school. While he had established a small base of friends he still felt like he was getting teased for being new or for his lack of memory. And this joke with the map was what finally got him. His cheeks stung with anger as he attempted to make his way toward the nearest exit, where ever
that was, so that he could spend some time within nature and clear his head.

“Hey!”

Declan barely heard the girls voice as he made his way passed her in search of the schools lobby. However it wasn't long before the older girl was standing in front of him, quill at the ready. “What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross.”

As he looked up at the girls shark like smile, he let out a heavy sigh. He was not in the mood for this right now. He needed to be in the brush, hiking the trails, up a tree where he could just shut out the world. And here was this girl asking him about food. He tightened his fist around the ball of parchment in his hand and let out a huff.

“How about we talk about this schools welcoming committee? Cause I ain't too keen on it,” he said waving the paper in her face. “Now how about you move those stems and let me go,” and with that he made an attempt to move around the older girl.
