Short Description (50 words max): A premier flying academy in Hogsmeade, Speedy’s Flying School trains students of all ages and levels in broom handling, Quidditch skills, and aerial agility.
Long Description (200 words min): SPEEDY'S FLYING SCHOOL
Nestled in an open space just outside Hogsmeade, Speedy’s Flying School remains a hub for aspiring flyers of all skill levels. While Richard Garrison’s legacy still lingers in the school’s foundations and name, its new owner, Kai Knightlock, has brought in his own competitive, high-energy coaching style. Under his leadership, the school is no longer just about learning to fly—it’s about mastering the skies.
The Pitch & Training Grounds
The Quidditch pitch, slightly smaller than regulation size, remains the heart of the school. The goal hoops are magically adjustable, allowing for customized training exercises. While beginners learn on toy brooms, advanced students tackle aerial agility courses, reaction drills, and tactical formations designed to mimic real-game pressure.
Two (not so) grandstands flank the pitch, while four tower stations mark the corners. At the edge of the field, a Hall of Flyers now replaces Richard Garrison’s personal trophy showcase. This new display honors student achievements, from first successful takeoffs to advanced tactical mastery, ensuring every student has a shot at making history.
Main Building & Facilities
Kai’s Office (Formerly Richard’s Office) – A modest but well-used space. The old oak desk remains, but the bookshelves are now filled with coaching journals, training schedules, and Quidditch strategy books. A notice board features team rosters, practice drills, and the occasional bluntly worded critique from Kai himself. His old Quidditch gloves sit in a display case—a quiet reminder of his past.
The Classroom – With seating for 25 students, this space is designed for both theory lessons and strategic breakdowns. A magically animated Quidditch model hovers in the center of the room, replaying famous plays and allowing Kai to map out real-time drills.
The Broom Shed – Home to both toy brooms for beginners and a mix of Cleansweeps and Comets for serious trainees. While Richard once had a personal broom enclosure, Kai has removed it, replacing it with a restricted section for elite brooms, only accessible to top students. His Nimbus 1001 sits there, though he rarely rides anymore.
The Ball Room – A storage closet filled with Quaffles, Bludgers (locked, of course), and a selection of training Snitches. Some Quaffles have been enchanted to dodge mid-air, forcing students to improve their reflexes.
Changing Rooms – Separate locker rooms remain for boys and girls, stocked with Quidditch robes and protective gear. Kai enforces a strict rule—no one steps onto the field without full gear.
The Student Lounge (Formerly ‘The Hut’)
The old hut by the pitch has been transformed into a student lounge, where trainees can relax after practice, analyze Quidditch plays, or track live matches from around the world. A massive enchanted Quidditch scoreboard updates in real-time, and the walls are still lined with team banners and moving posters. Kai has added moving portraits of legendary players, who often provide unsolicited advice—or, occasionally, mock students’ technique.
The School’s Philosophy Under Kai Knightlock
Kai doesn’t just teach students how to fly—he pushes them to be better. Whether a trainee dreams of going pro or just wants to feel confident in the air, he demands focus, effort, and dedication. He’s not the easiest instructor, but he knows how to get results.
What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun? Speedy’s Flying School isn’t just a business—it’s an interactive training ground where characters can:
Learn to fly – From first-time flyers to advanced Quidditch drills.
Compete in aerial agility courses – Including obstacle runs and speed challenges.
Engage in Quidditch strategy sessions – The lounge provides real-time match updates and play analysis.
Interact with other trainees – Students can form teams, rivalries, and friendships through training sessions.
Have mentor-student dynamics – Kai is a strict but skilled instructor, offering character development opportunities.
Have a Picnic - It does have a grassy ground which Kai is ready to share with anyone (on payment of course).
