Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Elowen Aurora Vartan-Devell
Born:
June 30, 1964, at 2:18 PM
Weight: 7 lb 10 oz
Length: 20 ½ inches

Elowen Aurora Vartan-Devell came into the world on a bright summer afternoon, her arrival greeted by a flock of sparrows fluttering outside the window of the family estate. From the moment she opened her wide, curious eyes, it was clear Elowen would follow her own path, one that valued freedom and beauty over rules and structure.

As a baby, she was remarkably easygoing, happy to entertain herself with whatever caught her attention. Her favorite moments were those spent in the garden, where she would babble gleefully at the birds darting through the trees.

Elowen is free-spirited and imaginative, a dreamer who often prefers the company of nature to the bustling energy of people. Much like her mother, Emerson, she has a love for avian creatures and an almost instinctual connection with them. Whether feeding wild sparrows or sketching owls in her notebook, Elowen feels most at peace when surrounded by the winged beings she adores.

Despite her gentle nature, she can be a bit aloof and unpredictable, drifting in and out of conversations or projects as her interest wanes. She’s not one to follow strict routines or plans, often leaving others scrambling to keep up with her whims. Yet, her warm smile and lighthearted charm make it difficult to stay frustrated with her for long.

Unlike her older brother Kaius, Elowen rarely concerns herself with the weight of expectations. She is happiest carving out her own space in the world, often retreating to the family gardens or the nearby woods with a sketchbook in hand. Her parents have learned to let her wander, knowing she always returns with a new story, drawing, or feather tucked into her pocket.

Elowen’s fascination with birds goes beyond a casual interest; it borders on magical. Though she lacks her father’s Parseltongue heritage, her connection to avian creatures feels just as extraordinary. She often claims she can understand their emotions, reading their chirps and flutters as though they were a language only she can hear.

Elowen Aurora Vartan-Devell is a soul untethered, a bright and whimsical presence in the lives of her family. While she may never share her brother’s focus or ambition, her boundless creativity and natural affinity for the world around her promise a life of wonder and discovery. As the sparrows that greeted her birth once foretold, Elowen is destined to soar in her own way, carried by the winds of her imagination and curiosity.

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Elowen had been sitting cross-legged on a patch of soft grass, idly weaving blades of green into a loose braid. A sparrow chirped nearby, hopping closer in tiny, cautious increments as if it knew she’d never harm it.

Her gaze occasionally wandered to the broomsticks zipping through the air above, watching the boys’ loud chase with faint interest, but her focus was more on the quiet harmony of the park than their game.

When the girl’s sharp voice cut through the air—“You! ...Do you want to play?”—Elowen blinked, startled out of her reverie. She glanced up, meeting the girl’s seething eyes, and tilted her head thoughtfully, taking in the discarded broomstick and the obvious frustration etched across the stranger’s face.

“Play?” she echoed softly, her voice light and curious. She set down the half-finished braid of grass and stood, brushing off her hands. “What sort of game?”

Elowen’s eyes flicked skyward again, following the tiny glint of the snitch as it darted between the larger brooms. A faint smile tugged at her lips, a touch of amusement softening her usually distant demeanor. “I don’t think they’d share, if that’s what you’re hoping,” she said, her tone calm but with a spark of humor. “But...” She stepped forward, her fingers brushing the handle of the grounded safety broom. “Maybe we could make up our own game?”

She extended her hand, a small gesture of invitation, her free-spirited nature sparking with quiet excitement at the thought of something new.
