Biography:

Maximus was never the type to cry.

He had never shed a tear since the day his father left him and his mother seven years ago. The boy was only eight and didn’t understand how a man can turn his back on those he loved for the lust and hunger to be with another woman, perhaps he really didn’t love his family after all. He had never really paid any attention to his son and often left on work trips. Max did not know what his father did as a profession, his mother seemed ok with not knowing either so it didn’t really bother the young boy. The man would leave money for the pair at home before going off to the office to finish a presentation or prepare a speech, or even write an important document, these were always the same excuses.

Max didn’t understand why his mother and father married in the first place, he was such a successful man with a large house and almost everything the man wanted, while Max’s mother was the daughter to a farrier who worked in the countryside, shoeing farmer’s horses. She came from a poor background and did not give the man anything valuable or important. Perhaps it was her beauty as a young maiden that caught the wealthy man’s eye. But soon after they were married, he got bored of his toy and left inside the house to do as she wishes, she was a caged bird, who’s only purpose was to sing sweet song’s and look pretty. Yet when Max was born, thing’s changed for the woman.

She was now occupied with a child and it pleased her greatly. Max was brought up with the care of his mother alone, never the maid’s and nannies that his father hired to look after the child. As a toddler, Max was a sweet boy with a curious, thoughtful nature interested in nature and the animal life he found in the gardens. He collected moth’s and butterflies which he kept hidden from his father underneath his bed where he would examine them each and every night before he slept, often dreaming that one day he might sprout his own wings and leave the cage he called home. He really never expected that one day his dream would come true and he would leave his home, however, dreams can quite quickly turn to nightmares.

He received his Hogwarts letter at the age of eleven and his father was generally pleased that his son had something unique about him, insisting that his magical side came from the wealthy part of the family. Max’s mother no longer saw her son as often as she liked too as the man found private tutors for the boy to teach him magic in the safety of his own home where his father could watch the boy’s progress with interest. Max was thrilled to learn that he possessed some sort of unique power and plotted to one day take his mother and leave the house, with his magic, he could do anything, right? He soon discovered that using magic without the company of a professor could lead to severe consequences in the ministry and saddened, as his only plan to leave with his mother was lost.

At the age of thirteen, he finally managed to take his mother and escape to England, after all, it was only a short ship from Ireland and he would finally be safe with his mother without having a man who cared nothing about him or his mother watching their every move, threatening to slip them up if disobedience accord. They settled down in a cheap tavern and during the cold, windy evenings, while his mother slept, Max would work as a shoe shiner for the extra money and when the chance was upon him, he would snatch the wallets out of the pockets from distracted Englishman. It was easy to make money this way and Max soon depended on the money he earned by stealing. The next few months were difficult, however the pair survived and even though Max’s mother knew about his evening work, she remained silent. The woman soon fell sick and Max had to abandon his work and take care of his sick mother, caring for her every need.

However, one new years evening, thing’s changed and people started disappearing. Max’s mother was gone and even the innkeeper seemed to have no memory of her. The time warp took everything from the boy and Max soon turned rogue once again, attempting rather dangerous crimes to get his hands on something to eat or a place to stay. After numerous successful pickpockets, Max was captured and taken to a nearby police station where he remained for two weeks until he was released due to little evidence of his crimes. Luckily for the boy, things seemed to look up when he received another letter inviting him to Hogwarts where the boy enrolled with the help of his grandfather and grandmother who both revealed to the boy to be magical.

He now resides in London with his grandparents and attends Hogwarts as a normal wizard.

The Quidditch game turned out to be a huge flop.

Max pouted slightly, sulking over the loss of his team while he eyed the cheering Slytherin’s throwing around green banners and singing song’s about how wonderful Slytherin is. He rolled his eyes and leaned against his arm and sighed, Slytherin’s were way to full of themselves and he wouldn’t be surprised if one of them died for having too much pride, if that were even possible. Max yawned and stretched his arms out, it was a tiring game and he played his very best until it all came down to James who accidently, to Max’s horror, dropped the Quaffle causing it to fall right into the hands of the Slytherin team who, to his disappointment, won the game.

It had been hell trying to walk though the hall avoiding the green house who seemed to smirk each time they caught a glimpse of a Gryffindor, as if they had no self control whatsoever. Even though Quidditch was just a game, the Hogwarts students had always treated it seriously and used every possible way to win the Quidditch cup. Max felt especially sorry for that James kid who sat nearby. The kid was utterly devastated and Max could tell just by looking at him that he had had enough of the Slytherin houses crap.

James stood up and quickly evacuated the room. Max sighed once again and slurped a mouthful of his pumpkin juice before standing up to follow the kid. James seemed pretty down and it wasn’t fair that he was too take all the blame for one silly mistake, it could have been anybody, sadly it just happened to be him. Max broke into a jog and almost caught up to the boy when James turned and snapped at him.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Max’s heart softened slightly as he tilted his head down towards the younger boy. He lifted a hand and to lay it on the boys shoulder before speaking, “Come on James, you did brilliantly out there. I mean, did you see those passes? The lousy Slytherin’s had no idea what hit them! You just made one mistake, it’s no big deal. Merlin, I’m glad they didn’t see me, I almost fell from my broom twice today!”
