History:
Joanne "Jo" Dickinson is the only daughter of Harold and Katherine Dickinson born Dec 22nd 1932. Jo's father Harold, a wizard,  had rebelled against his pretentious pureblooded family by marrying Katherine a school teacher he had met at King's Crossing one fateful evening. He never told Katherine about his past and vowed to live the rest of his life as a member of Muggle society Having been shunned from his family and as a result from the wizarding community itself Harold pursued his law degree before having a brief career as a lawyer. During his time in school Katherine gave birth to Jo and the couple found bliss in a quiet life in the city. Everything changed however with the start of WWII IN 1939. When she was 6, Jo's father went off to war never to return. Katherine did her best to provide for Jo under enormous financial difficulties. While Jo and Katherine were able to find a reasonably comfortable life this would only last a few brief years before Jo's own magical abilities began to show themselves. One fateful afternoon, however, The Dickinson's were visited by 2 members of the Hogwarts Administration. They carefully explained to both Katherine and Jo what indeed was going on for Jo. They assured Katherine that nothing was wrong but that Jo had magical gifts that needed to grow and be nurtured to. At first Katherine was horrified about the idea of people she barely knew whisking her daughter away but soon Katherine came to accept the fact that her daughter needed to be with people who could understand her.
A few months later Jo found herself boarding the Hogwarts Express for her first year at Hogwarts . Jo, having had her whole world changed in a very short span of time, took a long time to warm to life at Hogwarts. Jo often kept to herself in the courtyard drawing. The one friend that she did make was Ed. Ed who had grown up in the wizarding world but was no less an outsider had realized that Jo was someone he could sit near without having to be overly active. In the early weeks Ed and Jo's friendship was a very silent one. One day, however, Jo was being bullied by a group of older students when Ed came to her defense. Soon the pair were inseparable.
During her years at Hogwarts Jo's curious mind grew. Having a natural talent for Potions, Jo experimented with different ingredients once or twice getting in trouble. Her professor soon recognized her gift and Jo was given advanced private  instruction to supplement her education. By the time she graduated Jo had successfully created half a dozen cures for minor aches and maladies.
As they grew up, Ed and Jo slowly began to develop feelings for one another, however both were to shy to admit anything until their final year at Hogwarts. Their time together had left both of them truly happy as they were not afraid to challenge one another yet be unwaveringly supportive. They made plans to become Healers at St. Mungo's together, however, sadly, Ed own family had other plans for his future including arranging his marriage to a rich pureblooded girl who was in their year. Unlike her father Ed didn't fight for Jo and after graduation the parted ways leaving Jo utterly heartbroken.
To make matters even worse, Katherine soon became sick with pneumonia which took her life a year after Jo graduated. Racked with mixed feelings of guilt and grief Jo moved into her mother's house and became a nanny to pay the bills. Try as she did to cut herself off from others  Jo was visited by one of her professors who told her that she couldn't waste her talents any longer. They made plans for her to sell her mothers house and move closer to St. Mungo's. Her professor had Jo promise to take a job interview at St. Mungo's and promised to check in on her now and again. A few days after is Jo will begin her story.
Jo is an intuitive and kind young woman who is very introverted. Often it will take a few weeks of being introduced to Jo that she will feel comfortable approaching you personally. Once you get to know Jo however you see that she secretly is a determined and slightly rebelous girl. She works until she gets it right and often likes to do things her way. While Jo has natural intellectual gifts and can pick things up quickly she didn't always excel at school as much as she could because she often took on personal projects that distracted her. Jo loves to help others but needs validation from those who she is helping that she is not bothering them.

Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.
“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“
Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.
Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.
She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.
Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.
“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Crowds had always been stressful to Jo. As luck would have it Jo had found herself in Diagon Alley on one of the busiest weekends of the year when students and there families were preparing for the start of term. While older students strode confidently into the stores accompanied by their friends, yoinger students peered into the storefronts with the type of wonder only found in children. Jo envied their excitement. When she had first visited Diagon Alley before her first year. Jo had been paired with a surragote family who helped her navigate the busy overwhelming stores. While Mr and Mrs. Sinclair had been lovely and generous, their  daughter Agnes was a spoiled terror. Luckily Jo had little interaction with Anges after that day.
That afternoon, however, Jo was in a frantic search for something to wear to her upcoming interview at St. Mungo's. Jo was what some might referred to as trendy. Growing up The margin of Jos notes were doodles with models in designs of Jos own imagination. To Jo wearing the latest trend made her feel prepared. Just as she was about to step into Ambrose Boutique Jo heard a cry coming from a nearby alley. Turning her gaze toward the sound Jo saw a woman who had evidently fallen over. Rushing over to aid the woman Jo gave an empathetic smile. "Oh dear let me help"' Jo bent over to move the stone that had wedged the heel. Taking out her wand from her purse Jo preformed a quick Reparo on the woman's Shoe before offering her hand. "Are you alright?"
Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.
And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.
Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.
"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.
"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.
"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Believing there to be something wrong with her daughter, Katherine sought out medical opinion, but also the comfort of her next door neighbor Betsy who she had grown close to.  Betsy, herself a witch living in London, informed the Administration at Hogwarts who soon arrived at the Dickinson's home. They carefully explained that Jo was merely a gifted child and that their school would be able to nurture Jo's unique abilities.
A few months later Jo found herself boarding the Hogwarts Express for her first year at Hogwarts her mother completely unaware of what her daughter was truly up to as it was far too dangerous for her know anything more than that Jo was a gifted child.

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past.

Just as she was about to step into Madam Malkins Jo heard a cry coming from a nearby alley.
