Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Gus was born to Rose Finch who didn't want to be a mother and Eldric Grimstone who had no idea he was a father. Rose did the only thing she could to get away from the responsibility of motherhood; she named the baby after her deceased father (in hopes that it would endear her mother to the babe) and left the baby in the care of her mother.

Eunice Finch was a retired eccentric old woman intent on becoming the neighborhood crazy lady before Gus came along. To support herself and the new kid she was suddenly in charge of, she became a WAVON representative (like AVON but for witches) and successfully supported them through that and her bingo winnings. Gus was brought up in bingo halls gossiping with little old ladies, watching her grandmother battle it out in HOA meetings, and elbow-deep in the dirt of her grandmother's garden.

Gus grew up pretty much always smiling and always down to try and make a friend-- though she tends to scare them off with her overeagerness. Only being around elders and being homeschooled didn't make much in the way of friends. Which is why Gus is overeager when it comes to her peers. At Hogwarts, she was considered somewhat of a weirdo because of this. But she eventually settled down in her third year and learned how to make friends without being crazy overeager about it. She was sorted into Hufflepuff and was always the first to volunteer for a challenge and always down to do a dare no matter how dangerous or silly it was. Some would call her reckless but her grandmother just called her adventurous.

It was at Hogwarts she discovered dueling for the first time and fell in love with it. She channeled her boundless energy and enthusiasm into honing her dueling skills, quickly becoming one of the most promising duelists in her year. Her natural talent for strategy and her fearless approach made her a formidable opponent in the dueling club. Her grandmother passed away in her fifth year and she was sent to live at the Hogsmeade Home for the rest of her school career. She was devastated by her grandmother's passing and spiraled. She started flunking her classes and not caring about anything, she even stopped dueling. Eventually, she pulled herself out of the downward spiral and started giving a shit again when she realized her grandmother would have kicked her butt for acting as she was.

When she graduated she was at loose ends. She didn't know what to do with herself or even where to start at becoming an adult in the wizarding world. The only thing she did know was that she wanted to keep dueling. Eventually, she found an underground dueling ring in Knockturn Alley called The Arena where she's a rookie duelist who fights almost every night-- she's gotta keep the bills paid somehow.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Gus was running late. She was always running late. It was the late nights that did it. If she wasn’t up so late then she’d be able to function as a human being in the daylight hours. She wasn’t watching where she was going so when she heard, "Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" She didn’t pay really attention until it was too late.

Down she went. Her backside hit the pavement first and then her back. Gods, she was probably covered in snow. The young woman stood up, brushing the snow off her cloak with a bemused smile. She picked a strand of tinsel off her shoulder and then another off her pant leg.

"For Merlin's sake! I am so sorry! This blasted snow!"

"No harm done," The woman chuckled, glancing at the floating box and the glittery tinsel. "Well, if you need a hand, I'd be happy to help. It’s the least I can do after our little... incident."

It was good manners to ask but she really hoped he said no because she really was running late. Gus brushed snow off her knees and then found tinsel on her shoe. She laughed again at the absurdity of the fall and held out the piece of tinsel for him to take.
