Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Clio Rolfensen

Birthday: July 22, 1922

Hometown: Zell, Bavaria, Germany

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Year: Sixth

Biography:

Clio is a most unusual child. Born to a rather surly pureblooded Bavarian woman named Hildegarde and an extremely effeminate British squib named Jeremiah (a prodigal son so to speak), she's the unique combination of both parents. Thankfully, she takes after her father in terms of appearance and personality, but possesses her mother's unique build. (There have been rumors that her mother is half Giantess, but all have proven unfounded.)

How the match between her parents came about is anyone's guess, but they've lived amicably in a small cabin upon the border of the Bavarian Forest for years and both dote upon their daughter. Mutti would venture out to train dragons or hunt, while Papa would stay at home and fashion play clothes out of old curtains. Clio spent a fair portion of her childhood either traversing the forest or listening to fairy tales.

When Clio first showed signs of possessing magical talent, her father was positively ecstatic while her mother stoically grunted her approval. Most had assumed that her magic would be stunted like Jeremiah's, but fortunately she took after Hildegarde in that respect. Much to Clio's personal dismay, she discovered she was a witch and not the princess that Papa had always told her she was. After coaxing her with the affirmation that there were, in fact, witches who were both good and pretty, Mutti shipped her off to Durmstrang for studies.

With the sudden confusion of the time warp at the beginning of the new year, the world began to change. Troubled by the turbulent Muggle society that surrounded them and the renewed bias within Durmstrang against halfbloods, it was with great reluctance that Hildegarde yielded to Jeremiah's urging for a school transfer to somewhere that was slightly more tolerant.

Sent to remain under her staunch Uncle Henrik's care while abroad, Clio has enrolled with Hogwarts with the hope of a fresh start. Thankfully, both of her surnames have roots within old pureblood society and what no one knows won't harm her.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Slytherin. Mutti said "don't come home if not serpent" and what Mutti says, Clio does. Besides, it's always best to hide in plain sight.

Personality:

A bubbly airhead with the attention span of a gnat. Lives life like it's her own personal fairy tale and she's the featured princess looking for her prince charming. Has asked for a unicorn for Christmas ever since she was old enough to talk. Still does not have a unicorn. Adores her Papa. Fears her Mutti. Likes tea and cookies. And her grumpy Uncle Henny.

Appearance:

Unusually tall for her age/gender and just starting to develop curves. Long strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles. Typically seen sporting an obliviously happy smile. Or snacking. That explains all the growth spurts.

OPTION TWO

Clio loved food. In fact, a good majority of her morning was spent in deep debate over what delicacy she would choose to have for lunch. The selection here was leaps and bounds above the slop they served at Durmstrang. Well, she supposed that was because Durmstrang was a bit like a prison and were hoping to weed out the weaklings of the bunch. If you couldn't stomach their food, there was no hope for you.

The uniform was also a drastic improvement. It wasn't stiff or starchy, but soft and downy like a favorite blanket. She felt more like a girl here and less like an inmate, which was a nice change. Everything at Hogwarts was nice. The castle, the students, the staff, the uniforms, the food, the - ...well, yeah, everything. She couldn't wait to write to Papa about all of the nice things in her next letter, but first things were first - lunch.

Arms swung at her sides like she was marching, but really it was a skip and the instructors at Durmstrang had always scolded her because her movements were too willowy. Whatever that meant. Her eyes closed as she caught the scent of pumpkin wafting down the hall and increased her speed. If there was one benefit to being as gangling as a baby giraffe, it was that she had long strides. Unfortunately, it also meant that whoever was tailing her had to walk twice as fast.

"Hey! Wait up! It's for the paper!"

"Um...?" Heels clacked as she came to an abrupt halt, twisted to face the opposite direction and blinked several times in confusion. The other girl seemed a bit out of breath and was babbling something about frog legs. She passed the other girl a blank look, then rolled her eyes up toward the ceiling in thought. "Gosh, you can eat those?" Her head cocked this way and that as if mentally deliberating something, then rolled her shoulders in a shrug. "Why just the legs, though? Why not the whole frog? Why would anyone want to eat a frog anyway? What if you get warts?" It was a valid question. Was there a poultry that she should know about?
