Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Disa Anastasia Amethyst

Birthday: Fifteen - 18 October 1950

Hometown: Leeds, England

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Sixth, Fifth

Biography:
Disa Anastasia Amethyst was born in the fall of 1950. She was born in what her family called the heart of England. Whether or not it was completely accurate, it didn't matter, not really. All that matters was the pair finally had a child and that she had been born where her parents had also been. Where generations of the family had been born and would live.

The only child to Nidia and Leon Amethyst, she was the sole heir to their generous fortune. Between a fashion designer and alcohol extraordinaire, there was no wanting to be had in their household. Both parents worked incredibly hard to support their lavish lives despite their own luxurious backgrounds. Both came from pureblooded families and expected exactly that for their own daughter. They demanded only the best grades, student involvement, and focus when it came to being social. Only the best for her, including less involvement with those of lesser blood. Though, it was at school? So how would they know what she was doing? That was probably the only rule she broke of her parents. It was absolutely silly, and she couldn't understand why it was there.

At the age of eighteen, it was common knowledge that she would be married off upon graduation and beginning her career at St. Mungo's. There were no ifs, ands, or buts to the conversation, and she knew that. But Disa didn't mind. She wanted nothing more than to make her parents happy and proud of her. Besides, her parents loved one another immensely despite being in a prearranged marriage at her age, so why wouldn't it work out for her as well? She was positive it would work out for her in the end.

Life at Hogwarts had been good to her thus far. There were no complaints about her grades, she chose to be incredibly focused on being able to get into her dream job. She had friends, even if they were held at arm's length. Disa wanted to continue being the perfect, obedient, (and somewhat naive) daughter. The fifteen-year-old had yet to even be kissed, much her own dismay. She wanted to branch out and experience more things but was too scared to do so. Thankfully, a new group of friends were helping her out of the shell she stayed in.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw, Gryffindor

Personality:
Disa is, to a disgusting degree, a daddy's girl. It's quite obvious she loves both of her parents, but it's also blatantly clear she favors her father. The epitome of naive, the girl doesn't have much real-life experience aside from her time within the castle walls. She steers clear of the 'rough crowd' and likes to cling to those that are familiar, mostly within the small clique she hangs with the most. She typically doesn't dabble in anything that will break school rules, but the poor girl needs excitement in her life.

Appearance:
A growth spurt over the summer put the girl at a few inches over five foot. Long, dark chestnut hair falls past the middle of her back. Typically, her hair will have a reddish tint in the summer, but it tends to fade out later in the fall. She had wide honey amber eyes that are very animated as it's been pointed out over and over that she doesn't have a poker face. Most of her emotions are easily read and hard for the girl to hide. She has a light brown birthmark in the shape of a crooked island on the inside of her right wrist.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Roleplay Response:
Term had only just begun, and Disa had already found herself pouring over texts in the spacious library. Parchment stuffed into books; a bag lazily slung over her shoulder, and a quill sticking out between teeth, the girl was already a disaster. She released a slight sigh and tried to adjust the bag as she strolled quickly down the corridor.

Disa didn't particularly like wandering around the vast castle at night. She had some pretty awful memories of the stairs moving on her and getting lost. It had been just awful to endure the lecture of her head of house. She can still feel the disappointment just oozing out of them. The embarrassment was still fresh, even if it was years ago!

As the student made her way down the familiar corridor, she must have taken a wrong turn and ended up near the dungeons. A noise of frustration was released as she threw up her hands in disbelief, she could do such a thing. But a voice stopped her in her tracks, anxiously waiting for the next thing said to try and determine who it was.

It sounded feminine, and small, and scared. Her heart ached for the person.

"Hello? Are you lost?" she called out, looking within the shadows to find them.

Hi Disa,

Your application looks good, there's just one thing we'll need you to clarify before we get you accepted.

You have requested sixth year for Disa and put her birthday as October 1950 -- this would make her 16 years old, not 15. If you could confirm that you want her to be 16 and going into sixth year (rather than 15 and going into her fifth year), we can go ahead and accept your application.

No need to repost the whole application, if you could just post below to confirm, that would be great. Thanks!

Head of Ravenclaw
do you remember the twenty-first night of september?
love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away
our hearts were ringing in the key that our souls were singing
as we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away
