Biography:
Hazel has always been a fiery young girl, only beginning to grow into her dreams.
When Hazel was born, she was content in her small home in Ireland, without a care in the world. But that all changed quite suddenly, when her beautiful home caught fire while her mother was cooking dinner. Hazel was the only survivor. She was five.
After that, they sent her to live with her Aunt Alice, a reclusive woman who asks horses to make decisions for her, and considers gardening a life-style. She hated it, feeling confined to the countryside with no playgrounds, no shops, and worst of all, no people. Now, this is not to say Hazel is a social creature. By all accounts, she's the exact opposite; Just as reclusive as Alice, perhaps. But you can learn a lot by watching, and listening, and Hazel felt so lost in the silence.
Over time, Hazel not only grew accustomed to her new home, but it became her sanctuary. A place where her imagination can run wild without the oppression of social standards. With no restrictions on her life, other than her studies (which Alice closely watched,) Hazel came to believe that she could do anything, or be anyone she wanted to be. She may be a little naive on the world around her, but at least she's a dreamer.

House Request: Wherever she best fits.
Personality:
Optimistic and bright, hungry for the world.
Hazel does not do so well in social situations. Maybe she's always been like that, but maybe she just grew accustomed to the farm life. It's not that she's awkward, per say, it's more of the fact that she just doesn't know how to respond. If she were talking to a horse, it might be a different story. But now she has to talk to people, not horses, and she isn't very good at it. She is easily flustered with herself and becomes embarrassed over social errors, but when she's alone, she's the most confident person you'll ever meet, a natural leader hiding behind a shy child. You see, Hazel feels safest in her own mind, where she believes everything will be okay, and she can do whatever she sets her mind to. These thoughts are usually enough to get her by. Usually.
When it comes to academics, or really anything she sees as a challenge, Hazel becomes very competitive. She hungers not for knowledge, but an understanding of the world around her. Stuffy old textbooks can only get you so far, but what you do with all that information is what really matters. In this regard, Hazel can be very determined; even ambitious. She want to use her own philosophies on life and make the most of them, and become a someone in the world. As a child, she's very optimistic about her place in the world, but as she grows older, she becomes wise, yet more determined to make a difference.
Appearance:
Cute. That's always the word used to describe her. Not beautiful, or pretty; just cute.
Hazel doesn't mind being cute. Her face is round, cherry cheeks dotted with auburn freckles, and a slightly crooked smile sitting above her chin. Her eyes are her favorite feature, small like her mother's, but expressive like her father's. Alice always tells her the whole world can be seen in those baby blue eyes.
As a child, Hazel never really sat still, leaving her unruly blonde hair a mess. This habit will likely follow her the rest of her life, and she'll probably always be known for a thick head of straw colored hair that seems to have a mind of its own. Sure, she tries to tame it, normally by tying it back with a big pink ribbon. There's not much to be done about it, but at least the curls are pretty. Maybe someday she'll be attractive. But for now, she's cute.

Option 2, Responce
Hazel loved nothing more than to explore. Especially exploring nature. It was something she had always done, tromping around in the woods or running through the pastures at her farm, the great outdoors has always been her favorite place. So naturally, she was drawn to the gardens of Hogwarts.
There was so much to see, so many beautiful things to look at. Flowers of all shades dotted the grounds around Hogwarts. Blue, red, yellow, rat, orange. . .
Rat?
Sure enough, Hazel looked again to see the tail end - literally - of a rat scampering into the flora. Without hesitation, Hazel stooped down and dove into the flower beds, grabbing at the rodent until she managed to catch a foot, at which point she scooped the little animal close to her chest. By this point, she had grass stains on her knees and dirt on her hands, but she was too focused on the rat to care. She really did love animals!
Thats when she noticed a voice coming closer, and as she began towards the sound, she caught sight of Hugh just as he was ducking into the flowers. It didn't occur to her that maybe the reason this grumpy boy was diving into the flowers was to look for something, something like a rat. So instead she just watched him quizzically, still holding the rat to her chest, who had calmed down considerably to the point Hazel forgot he was there. In fact, she was still wondering why this boy had stuck his head in the flowers when he turned to her. . .
"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."
Hazel blushed. "I'm. . . Sorry." She stammered. "I just found it odd to see you ducking in the. . . the flowers. Were you. . . were you looking for something?"
