Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name:Bryson Uriah Rose

Birthday: 29 June

Hometown: New York City, New York

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Transfiguration

Year (pick two):Sixth, Fifth

Biography:
Cousin to infamous Serena Rose-McCormick, and the scandal worthy Chloe Elita-Rose. As the Rose curse goes, Bryson’s beginning was just as dark and dreary, much like the thunderstorm of our favorite blondes. Much unlike his cousins, the boy attempted to have much more positive outlook, despite how dark his own past was.

Geoffrey Rose, brother to the eldest Rose heir, had four children with his beloved Vivian. Shiloh, Evvan, Bryson, and Trini were all rambunctious children, always causing a stir in the home.  All four children at one point attended Hogwarts, all in the house of crimson and gold. Their lives were the same as other pureblood children; duty, schedules, parties. Until their parents were killed in a tragic boating accident several years ago.

The four were sent to live with their grandparents, Kellen and Beatrice. It was there they spent their time, growing closer to one another, and to their guardians. Even more so tragically, their grandmother fell ill to dragon pox in 1952, and the following year, their grandfather too passed. And so, the children were sent to live with their cruel Aunt Alice. She was nothing at all like her kind, soft brother. Instead they found a cold heart, and even colder outward personality. They all had began to resent her.

Being the eldest, Shiloh is fiercely loyal and protective of him siblings, and currently works at the Ministry. Evvan, freshly graduated, believes his family is the center of his life, but is quiet, intense. Trini is the youngest, being two years younger than Brys, and the wild flower child. Always with a grin and flowers in her hair, Brys secretly loves her the most of the family.

Life at Hogwarts had been going really well for Bryson. He had made friends with a fair amount of students, finding eyes for Pilar firstly. That first summer was spent pining over her with first snogs and secret hangouts, only to be tossed aside once Bracken Thomas weaseled his way into the girl’s heart. But he was used to being looked over for those more brash, more outspoken, until Artie came along. She was his fire, his air, his world.

Until her attack.

And now they were nothing.   /i]

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Gryffindor

Personality:
Bryson is probably the nicest guy anyone would meet. Loyal and kind to almost a fault, trying to please everyone, especially those he considers dear to his heart. He’s very much a fixer, in terms of other people’s problems. He can’t control his own life, so he wants to help in any way he can to make anything easier for other people.

He knows people try to take advantage of him, and sometimes, he lets it happen. Purely because he wants to see the good in everyone, and hope they make the right decision. But once you wrong him, that’s it. There’s no going back. He won’t allow it.

He’s always very humble, despite how the few friends he has air up his ago when they can.

Appearance:
Bryson just hit a growth spurt over the summer, and now stands at just over six feet tall. His jet black hair is shaggy with some curl, reaching his ears by now, and he doesn’t like to cut it. He has hazel hues that tend to darken when he’s concentrating, so not many people notice, if any at all. When he smiles genuinely, it reaches his eyes, causing dimples and wrinkles beside his eyes.

He has a scar trailing from his left elbow, all the way to his wrist on his forearm. Along with that, Brys has little scars here and there; on his hands, legs, and lower back. For being a pureblood, his hands do have some unusual calluses that roughen them up.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Girls were simply cruel. There was no other way to say it, and boy, did it need to be said. He just couldn’t understand why they wanted to scare the poor first year walking ahead. Of course, no one really listened to Bryson Rose. Honestly, not anyone really paid attention to him until the past summer. But it wasn’t about him.

It was about them.

The upper year girls who thought lying and scaring kids were a great past time. This is why none of them ever earned his own attention, not really anyway. Because of how they acted towards one another. Who wanted to date a mean girl? (Well, Pilar didn’t count. He didn’t know she was one until it was too late.) Not him.

“Evangeline?” he whispered harshly. “It’s Brys.”

But she was probably too far to hear him. The teen turned to a quick jog in an attempt to catch up with her, fully intending on giving her a lecture on how to think with her own mind.

Godric, he sounded like Shiloh.
