Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Jun Koayashi

Birthday: December 25th 1927

Hometown: Nagasaki, Japan

Bloodline: Muggleborn

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Divination

Year (pick two): 1st year or 2nd year

Biography: Nagasaki was a fishing town, and as far as anyone knew. It was rather closed off to outside folks no one who didn't own a boat got in. It was a harbor, a fishing port, not a swimming hole. The Navy headquarters sits in the dead center of the entire harbor, and regulates all the trade and commerce that came into town. In Nagaski you were either a net maker, or a fisherman. Those were the only true two careers you could have in Nagaski that made anyone a profit. Luckily, Jun's parents were both.

Father was a well to do captain on a fishing boat, while mother worked for one of the best net producing factories in the Pacific ocean. Father was away constantly away at sea, and mother worked long hours in the factory. When Jun was born, she was left in the capable hands of their elderly grandmother, who lived in a humble shack near the water. Her grandmother wasn't... well in the head. So, Jun often left to go do things on her own. The world was her magical place. Jun would take sticks and pretend she was magical. At the time she had no idea what 'witches and wizards' were. She was just magical.

Her mother and grandmother thought it was cute, and sometimes joined in on the play. However... One day... It was all gone.

Jun woke up from her sleep and found herself in a strange place... An alley. Someone was telling her to get up. He was telling to get up, it was all over. Everything felt and looked different. Jun attempted to find her way back home and it wasn't there. In fact, none of the usual signs and buildings stood in her the place. She was lost, and started to cry on the spot where she thought her home was. He kneeled down, and asked the girl if she believed in magic.

She was whisked away, and dropped off right in front of St. Mungos. He patted her head, and looked down at her. He promised she would be safe here, and then turned and left. Lavender couldn't stand the idea of being alone, and followed him. He noticed and chuckled. He lead on a wild run around the strange England style town. Finally, he gave up. He brought her back to his small apartment, and let her sleep on the floor... Kept her there till he learned her age, only two days later. He grinned and said it was fate.

He took her shopping for some second hand clothes, and her first wand and then sent her on her way to Hogwarts. Jun never saw him again...

House Request: Ravenclaw

Personality: At first meeting, Jun is shy. Only because the real world of magic is new to her. Everything is confusing and new, but Jun also likes it. She enjoys the unknown and often wanders where she shouldn't be. Rules that are placed in front of her are sometimes meant to be broken in the pursuit of knowledge... And thats knowledge for herself. Jun enjoys books, and has always been competitive when it comes to knowledge. Perhaps its her Japanese nature, she wants to be first in class, but doesn't want to step on too many toes along the way. She'll study, study, study, and if she finds out someone else is gunning for the same spot... She'll get a few problems wrong on purpose.

Appearance: Her long hair seems to be black sometimes, other times a offset of red. Her hair is kept long, about shoulder length, and her bangs always frame her dark brown eyes and cute eyes. She has a sweet and innocent look to herself.

Watched from behind closed doors as the blonde girl down the hallway. Jun's tiny little heart was beat in her chest... She wondered why she was being chased... Jun had never been chased before, unless it was by her mother or her grandmother during one of her fits. However... Tiny little tears filled her eyes as she looked down at the ground and stepped out from her hiding place.

Her family was gone now... Forever gone. Someone had explained everything that had happened to the world, and had to spell it out in every color just why she wouldn't ever be able to see her parents again... Even if her father wasn't around much, it was no reason to not miss him.

Suddenly... Footsteps... A voice. Ohnoohnoohnoohnoohno! Her heart was starting to pick up again, she wanted to run away from the girl Jun wanted nothing to do with the older girls newspaper thing. English was hard enough to understand, she didn't want to be IN the english paper!

Jun turned slightly, blinking trying to get rid of the tears from thinking about her parents. She was going off about... frog legs...? Jun bit her lip and looked around her surroundings trying to figure out just how to get out of this... This cold silence could not last forever. "Konichiwa!" Jun waved and started to back away slowly, "Kunainode, watashi wa sakini bakkuappu shite imasu." As Jun backed away from the girl, she shurgged her tiny shoulders as if she was agonizing for not being able to speak the girls tongue.

In reality she was saying 'Good afternoon' and 'I don't want to speak to you, so I'm backing away.' Jun was hoping this girl didn't know to speak Japanese. If she did know... Well, then she would run away and pray that this girl didn't have any classes with her. Jun knew how to speak English, but... She just couldn't bring herself to talk to everyone...

Application for Salem Institute

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Jun Kobayashi

Birthday: 1/1/1922

Hometown: Saint Clair, Michigan

Bloodline: Believes she is muggleborn, but is infact a pureblood Witch.

Magical Strength (pick one): Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Freshmen or Sophomore

Biography:
When a man of high social standing in Japan falls for a woman who isn't his wife, bad things happen. The man can claim its love all he likes, and the woman can cry big crocodile tears for the rest of her life. When the man's family matriarch finds out, no one can save them... To a degree at least. Even the matriarch can have a heart at strange times.

The woman gave birth on the start of the New Years so it felt fitting to give the child to someone who was heading to a new Continent. The girl, named Jun in hopes she wouldn't end up like her father, was given to a family headed to America to start a new life away from the strict ways of Japan.

That's all that can be said about the true blood family in Japan... Nothing else is known about them, at least nothing Jun is aware of.

Her family, the one that raised her, always felt normal. As normal as can be anyways. Her parents would tell her the story of how she came into the world on New Years, signaling the true start of their life in America. Once they got to America they moved to the most distinct landmass they could find on the map. No, it wasn't Florida, it was Michigan. Something about living in a place shaped like a mitten just made them laugh and they figured it would be a cheerful place to start a new business.

Kobayashi Cleaners was created and had its grand opening by the time Jun was two years old. At the age of four three more were opened, and when she turned ten there were at least 12 stores in the state of Michigan. Her father knew how to run a business and kept opening up more and more in the area, it was safe to say that the Kobayashi's were doing fairly well with their new life. They had enough money to buy a nice two story house in a small town with a view of a river. Mrs. Kobayashi would tell her daughter that the sight of the water made her feel more at home, as if she was back in Japan. If only Jun had felt the same way...

Jun was never a problem child, she didn't stay out late, she got excellent grades, always cleaned her room and made sure her appearance was acceptable at all times. However... She never connected with anyone. Jun was rather shy for a girl her age. Her father was a big talker, a businessman. If you got him to shut up, you were lucky. Her mother was a bit more reserved but could really get talking if it was on a subject she liked... Jun was just... there. She never seemed to speak. During parent teacher conferences all the teachers mentioned that she never ever spoke. Even when asked a direct question. In fact, a few times she had run out of the room in tears when asked questions.

Father used to just say it was nerves, mother would insist she would grow out of it. The teachers insisted she at least get a hobby, perhaps something that could get her to connect with the other kids? Mother snapped her fingers and signed her daughter up for Music lessons. Private lessons. Far away from the other children.

One thing can be known about her blood family, its a family of late bloomers. Very late bloomers. Its a point of shame among the old magic bloodline, and often they have 'squib' children. Perhaps they had thought that Jun was going to be one...

'Things' started to happen around the house. Doors opening and closing, wind blowing violently inside the house despite the fact that all doors and windows were closed. Jun once made a comment to her mother that she looked very green, and dad was blue. No one knew what she meant, and she was carted around to various doctors who poked her with needles and looked into her eyes for what felt like years.

It wasn't till a wizard doctor finally got his hands on Jun did they knew what was truly happening. When he reached out to cup Jun's face to look into her eyes, he was knocked back by a violent wind. At first he was shocked but then he laughed. Instead of testing her he sat down in his chair and talked to her. At least tried to talk to her. He managed to get half nods and a few 'yes' and 'no's' from her, which was all he needed.

He invited himself over for dinner and explained to the Kobayashi's just what was going on around their house. Jun could only feel herself sink deeper and deeper into her seat. None of this could be really be real... It all sounded so fake! A world of witches and wizards!

The doctor explained that she might have been overlooked by the wizarding schools due to some... vexing recent events, but he assured them he would get Jun a place in the school. She might be a bit behind but better to be in a school where she could be better understood.

To her parents, this was a God send. Their daughter was still strange, yes, but there was a reason for it! There was truly something magical about her and she wasn't just a mundane girl who was too shy for her own good.

As promised Salem soon got into contact with the Kobayashi's and she was packed up and sent on her way with many hugs and kisses from her muggle family.

Society Request: Rook

Personality:  A very shy girl. Its rare she ever ventures out of shell, and if she does its within good reason. She has always wished for friends but when she opens her mouth it betrays her and nothing comes out. When people raise their eyebrows at her, or even speak in a slightly mad tone she will burst into tears and run away. Jun isn't sure if she wants to have friends, she has seen all the talking it requires. She believes herself to be bottom of the barrel in every possible way. Even if she does have a natural act for Divination, its hard to see any kind of future for herself.

Appearance: A very short girl. Standing only at four foot eleven inches in height. She has straight black hair and her cheeks sometimes show off her dimples if she smiles. Jun considers herself 'plain' but she is not all that bad. Slap a little make up on her, and tape her face into a smile she could be very cute. Some say she has 'doe eyes.' She's just the right size for hugging~

Jun's mouth opened and closed at random points during the entire time they sat in the library. Each time she opened her mouth a question or a casual comment was always on the tip of her tongue. So close to being spoken and then her throat would close up. Her mouth would snap shut, making her look like some kind of strange human fish.

All Jun had wanted to do was strike up a conversation with him. Jun had nothing against Simon! From what she had seen of him in class he was nice enough. He didn't talk much, like her. Somewhere in the very back of Jun's mind she believed that maybe just maybe she could really, and finally, connect with someone! Her brown eyes peered over the edge of the book as she watched him flip through the pages of the book. He looked so sure of himself... And a bit frustrated. Was working with her so hard? She had never meant to make the job harder for the boy.

She looked down at the book in front of her and the mesh of words just blended together till suddenly there was a slam. Jun flinched and looked up at Simon as he spoke to her with wide doe eyes.

Of course he wants to do it himself... I'm no good at this. I can't do this. I'm the worst at focusing on these things. He's smart. He can do this... What does he really think of me? I'm such an idiot! I can't do anything, not even help on a history assignment.

Tears welled up into her brown eyes as she thought the worse of herself. She dropped her own book on the table and booked it out of the library, leaving behind her own backpack in the process as tears rolled down her eyes. It would be hard to see, but as she ran out of the room someone might be able to see her nodding her head agreeing to what Simon had said.

Let him do the work... At least that way they had a chance. A simple chance was all she wanted.
