CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character name: Aspen Greenberg

Previous and/or Current Character(s) if applicable: Circe Blackwood, Margaux Hartley, Solanine Hartley, Echo Undergrove, etc.

Character age: 26 (August 4, 1941)

Character education:
Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft & Wizardry ‘59
Barnard College ‘63

Strength and weaknesses (details please):

Aspen’s strengths mainly lie within her curiosity. She’s an adventurous soul with a love for the unknown. She always speaks her mind, especially if the situation calls for it, and doesn’t take transgressions against her too seriously. Her problem solving skills coupled with her stubbornness are probably her most important of the bunch. It allows her to figure out the questions she and other people have. She’s loving, fierce, and loyal to a fault which causes her to keep some people at arms length even though they would never know it.

Aspen’s weaknesses are there, but she would hardly ever admit it. She’s not too keen on self reflection until someone else brings up the fact that she’s in the wrong. Her love for chaos often brings unwanted harm, but nothing that is really all that surprising. Her life is a balance of risk v. reward. Her stubbornness is one of her strengths, but it’s also one of her weaknesses. She has been known to push things and people too far.

Physical description:

Aspen’s hair is a golden blonde that can either appear as long or shoulder length depending on her mood for the day. She is 5’6”, slim with a bit of curves. She is always well kempt. Rarely a hair is out of place.

Personality (nice, rude, funny etc. Paragraph please.):

First and foremost Aspen Greenberg loves to have fun -without completely ruining her family’s reputation. A little ruining is fine? As long as it doesn’t go completely over the line. She’s the type to find fun in most situations. She’s nice and kind until a person crosses her in a negative way. Then she’s indifferent. She has a sharp tongue and prides herself on her wit. A bit eccentric and doesn’t know how to dial it down.

Hopes and dreams. Why are you teaching at Hogwarts?:

Aspen hopes to study teenage relationship bonds to aid in her study at the ministry. A bit deceitful in the why she wants to be at the castle, but she believes that the younger generation is the future and she believes that she is the right person for the job. She’s not classically trained in the medical field, but her strong knowledge of potions and herbs will aid her. She hopes to help the students and guide them in meaningful ways that will set them up for success -when she’s not studying their relationships that is.

Biography (500 words minimum. There is never such a thing as too much.):

If Aspen’s life could be summed up into one word it would be, easy. The third born and only girl in a prominent family in America. A family in finance in New York City. It was all very thrilling from the outside looking in. Her first word was daddy and by the time she was five her favorite food was caviar -or that’s how the story has been told to her anyways.

Her brothers and her cousin Izzy were her best friends growing up. She spent a lot of time during the year in London with her mom visiting Izzy and her parents. The boys were in school at that point, so Aspen got to travel with her parents most of the time.

It was all a girl could ask for really.

Until she got pulled into school herself. Who would think of such a torturous place? She missed her tutors and her own bed.Her first year was probably the toughest year of her life, but after that she flourished being around her peers. Even going as far as graduating at the top of her class.

After graduating she went to Barnard College in New York City where she studied Chemistry. It wasn’t like her, but she had always loved potion making and the like. It was a hobby.

One of her other hobbies though was dating.  Her and her friends had made a silly little list of all the eligible men and had a bet that no one would make it through the whole list. It was certainly scandalous to say the least.

She was perfectly content, at least until Jack pulled off some ridiculous stunt and got sent back to the UK. It made her feel a bit alone.

Jack was off in the UK being an auror and Robert was at their family's company. Even though Robert was in New York it's as if he was a million miles away considering how much her brother worked. It made it all the more fun on Holidays though when she got showered with gifts. Guilt from them feeling as though they weren't showing her enough attention.

Years went by and she attended galas, dinners, and parties. One year she had an engagement every night. Had to be a record of some kind. It was all very tiring and menial. Although, raising money for those less fortunate became somewhat of a hobby.

When she turned 24 her parents decided it was time for her to settle down, but her boyfriend at the time wasn't good enough according to them. Too Boston they said.

So they went through the steps of an arranged marriage before finally settling on the bane of her existence, William Astor. They were the lesser known, magical branch, of the New York Astors -a cadet house if you will. At least that's what they had claimed since the poor no-maj boat sank all those years ago.

She was just happy they agreed to the long engagement she begged her daddy for.

During that time she saved up what little she could and a bit before she was set to get married she got on one of those no-maj boats herself. Untraceable. She stepped foot in London about a week before she was set to say I do. Hopefully the Astors would definitely take it as an 'I don't'.

Upon her arrival to London, Aspen had taken up residence with a muggle man she had met in the South of France the week before. A little vacation before facing up to what she had done was very much a need. After a talk with her brother, Aspen decided to take up a job in the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. Her main position was in the love room where she worked as an unspeakable.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
(Please respond to to this in third person past tense. Do not write the other characters' reactions. Only your own.)

It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.

In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.

A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.

Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.

She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."

Explain yourself was what her face said.

Roleplay Response:

The castle was more magnificent than she had imagined it. Jack had told her stories when he would come home on breaks. Her imagination was apparently lacking. Ilvermorny was beautiful, but the Scottish Highlands were even more beautiful.

Looking at her watch, she smiled. She was on time for once in her life.

She had a few minutes before she had to be in the Headmistress’ office that was just a few feet away.

Her mind drifted as she looked through a large window. Taking in other parts of the grand castle and part of the grounds. It was magnificent. Centuries older than the school she had gone to. The history was also better in her opinion. Although she never really wrapped her head around quidditch. Quadpot was more to her liking.

Memories of her formative years cascaded through her mind as she watched. The minutes went by and then a few more. By the time she looked at her watch once more her eyes went wide. “Oh. Merlin.” She cursed under her breath.

Keep calm. She thought to herself. She was good at that. She was good at keeping herself together under pressure.

Taking a deep breath she did one last check of herself before walking into the large office.

“My apologies, Headmistress.” She stated with a confident smile. “I was just admiring the beauty of the school.” Her heels tapped on the floor as she walked further into the room. “I always tried to imagine it, but my brother’s descriptions didn’t do it justice.”

Looking at the woman, a bit of a chill went through her. The woman was intense that was for sure. “I’m Aspen Greenberg.” She said as she stuck her hand out for a firm shake like her father had so desperately tried not to teach her. Quite unladylike if one was to ask him.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
London was dull and gray. Quite like New York City, but somehow even more. Maybe it was the people. She had preferred the country home she would visit when she was little. All the greens, yellows, pinks. Grass and flowers vibrant with color.

This was just depressing.

Penny sat at a little cafe, sipping an espresso. It was really the only thing they had besides tea. The taste of the brown liquid made her miss home. It wasn't the longest she had been away, but knowing she wouldn't be able to go home for a while made her miss it even more.

To bide her time Penny enjoyed people watching. At his point in time she was watching a little, spindly woman trying to get people to comment on a story. People seemed annoyed even to be looked at in that crowd. She felt sort of bad for the young woman.

She grimaced as the woman fell over, squawking a bit. It sort of reminded her of the geese that would land near her mother's pond. It was loud and certainly not graceful.

With a sigh she got up from her seat to go and help the woman, since it seems no gentleman was about to stop and help. "Here." she said holding out her hand to help the woman up. "Never put your weight on the heel if you don't want to break an ankle, especially on cobbles." She giggled a bit.

Oh, how many times she had fallen down in the village when her and Hollis would go out. She learned her lesson more than once.
