Biography:Nila Smith, the eldest of the family, lives with her parents in England. Being born to an English father and an Indian mother, Nila was exposed to both cultures, which also made her bilingual. Her position as a big sister to her three siblings taught her responsibility and tolerance from a very young age. However, not so much, as she herself was a kid. Nila always had a thirst for knowledge and an eagerness to learn more, which also made her question more, and that sometimes annoyed the questionee more. An end to her doubts and answers to her questions—that's all she wanted. As a muggle born, she's about to enter the wizarding world with a whole lot of doubts and... insecurities, which she wouldn't admit.

Personality:Nila is a curious kid who has a thirst for knowledge. She is a kind little girl. Nila likes to be surrounded by people. She is friendly, but her studious side sometimes forces her friends to study with her. Nila is always seen with a calm smile, but there's a volcano hiding behind it. Nila is a loyal person who'd do anything for her people. A disciplined child—that's how the elders described her. But that disciplined child can be mischievous sometimes.
Appearance:Nila has black curls, which almost all the time look messy even when tied into a ponytail, and a pair of sharp blue eyes. Her dimples stand out when her face brightens with a smile. Her ears are pierced, and she is almost seen with her pearl stud. The little girl, who is not so tall or short, is considered to be averagely built. She has a calm and confident walking style with a hint of a smile on her face.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.
The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.
Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.
Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.
If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.
Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.
"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"
The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Nila was meandering around the castle that day. It was different. All her life, she was always around her family. And suddenly, Hogwarts happened. She managed to make some friends; however, her homesickness made her days more tough.
The old Nila always liked to be surrounded by people, but now, being a muggle born here, she feels inferior to many others here. Some gave her dirty looks. To face the dungeons all alone felt better than facing those people.
All of a sudden, a voice made her nearly jump. The voice of a scared girl. Emma birch... It sounds familiar. Nila laughed inwardly without making any noise as she realised who Emma Birch supposedly was. Of course she didn't know if there's a ghost here, but she didn't come across one... Yet. Nila suppressed her laugh. "Who dared to say my name?" she asked in an eerie voice.
