Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Calvin is a misunderstood, heartbroken young man. He grew up in a rough neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, and when he experienced harsh bullying, he had no one to tell him that it was wrong, so he in turn figured that that was an acceptable lifestyle. He turned into a monster, hurting people to avoid allowing the pain to surface that he felt deep down. His father was a drunk who told him that men never cry or show weakness, and would hit him. When he grew to be a teenager, his father’s words stuck in his mind and he lived with a harsh and rude disposition. He would promise protection to people and “rough people up”  in exchange for cigarette packs and loose change. As he grew a little older, he got into a darker lifestyle and did things he regrets to this day with a gang in Brooklyn. After betraying a fellow gang member to protect a target’s kid sister, they turned on him and hunted him down. He was conveniently offered a spot in Hogwarts, because of his deceased wizard mother, which didn’t last long. After only three years in Hogwarts, he was expelled for Inappropriate language, Rude behavior, and violence. Upon ending up homeless in the streets of Knockturn Alley, he cried for the first time in several years. Only after spending several years fending for himself and squatting in an abandoned tenement building did he realize it was time for a change. He wanted friends, a job, a home, and everything normal. He also knew he wanted love. He had gone his entire life so far without a single person who truly cared about him and he knew it wouldn’t happen if he remained a beast. He remains suspicious of knew people, but is now a trustworthy person who seeks a new life all together.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Calvin heard a young woman shout and, where he grew up, he heard it frequently, however, he knew that around here, it wasn't normal. Searching to find the source of the shout, he saw a short, redheaded lady on the ground. He slipped his way past the people trampling through like a stampede and picked up the broken piece of her heel off of the ground, then offered his hand to her. "Hi, I'm Calvin. I take it people ignore you regularly? That's awfully rude."

Biography edit:

He turned into a monster, hurting people to avoid allowing the pain to surface that he felt deep down. His father was a drunk who told him as a child that men never cry or show weakness, and would hit him.

When he grew to be a teenager, those foggy words stuck in his mind and he lived with a harsh and rude disposition. He would promise protection to people and “rough people up”  in exchange for cigarette packs and loose change. As he grew a little older, he got into a darker lifestyle  due to the faded memories of his father and already deep feelings of abandonment, and did things he regrets to this day with a gang in Brooklyn. After betraying a fellow gang member to protect a target’s kid sister, they turned on him and hunted him down. He was conveniently offered a spot in Hogwarts because of his British Mother, which didn’t last long. After only three years in Hogwarts, he was expelled for Inappropriate language, Rude behavior, and violence. He remains suspicious of people, but is now a trustworthy and changed person who seeks a new life all together.

Time Warp:

Calvin was a young man starting his education late when the time warp occurred, and he had almost no recollection of his father, which infuriated him. He began to believe he never had one, but recalled the beatings. His gang memories where foggy as well, but flashbacks repeatedly haunted him. Something about his memories of New York is off, and he feels certain people, images, and situations just aren't right.

Hey darling! Your application is looking absolutely wonderful. <3 Before we approve it, though, I just wanted to let you know that you didn't use all of the levels allotted for your use (32)—you only used 24, so you're welcome to use another 8 if you wish. If you'd like to use fewer levels for Calvin, though, then we can just approve it as it currently is—up to you. :)

(also, small thing—technically, Calvin would be a halfblood if his mother was a witch, so you may wish to tweak that as well.)

Let us know about your levels and then we can get you all set up!  :D
