Biography:
Rubina "Ruby" Dorthea Payne was born at 3:17 AM on September the 6th, 1929 to Quillan Payne and his Muggle-born wife Alice. The second of five children Ruby has an older brother, two younger brothers and a younger sister. The eldest, Mordicus Payne, graduated top of his year from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1935.
Though the Muggle's war rages all around them, the Payne family lives as they always have. Isolated and untouched deep in the depths of the Dering Wood. Villagers in nearby Pluckley refer to the area around the Payne's cottage as “The Screaming Wood”, due to the many protective charms and spells in place around the home to frighten away non-magical people.
Her wand is 35 and ¼ centimeters long and made of dark Snakewood, with a thestral tail hair core. Once belonging to her father's great-great-grandfather, the wand had whispered to Ruby when she was a child, leading her to its hiding place in the family's attic. The old wand sometimes does things of it's own accord, but has proven to be excellent at all forms of spells, charms and hexes.

Personality:
Though she has a large family, Ruby has always been a bit of a loner. A shy, quiet girl, she doesn't have many friends. Intelligent and desperate to live up to her family's tradition of scholarly perfection. When not in class she can be found primarily in the depths of the library, light brown hair veiling her slender face as she loses herself in her studies. She will occasionally walk the grounds alone to be reminded of home.
Appearance:
A lanky fifteen year old, Ruby stands 173 centimeters tall and weighs about 49.8 kilograms. With a slender build, fair skin and dazzling green eyes, Rubina is quite a pretty girl. However, she tends to hide her features behind baggy sweaters and wild hair.
