Magical Weakness (pick one): Transfiguration

Biography:

Sarah Kitto shared the same name as her mother.  On a hot June day (June 14th to be exact), the original pregnant Sarah Kitto stumbled into a muggle hospital emergency room beat up, inches away from death.  The only form of identification on her was a "Hello, my name is..." sticker on her jacket.

It was obvious she was ready to have the baby.  The doctors tried the best they could to keep the mother alive, but their foremost concern was delivering the baby alive.  The mother passed away just a few moments after her baby was born.

The mother had never stated a name for her baby, so the doctors just transcribed the name on the name tag.  A police investigation was opened to why the women showed up to the hospital in such a state, but no record of her could be found.  The autopsy report showed domesticate abuse.

The future didn't look bright for the new Sarah Kitto.  It was likely she would be lost forever in the overcrowded adoption system.  It was pure luck that saved her.  Just a few days after she arrived, a muggleborn couple, Fred and Kathy Monroe, were looking for a child to adopt, they recently found out Kathy could not carry a child to to a medical condition.  While at the adoption center one of the workers came in and started babbling to the other about how she started feeding the babies, then as soon as she turned her back, cries rang out from all the cribs in the back, almost simultaneously.  She turned around, and none of the cribs had the bottles in them, save for one.  Sarah had several bottle of baby formula in front of her.  The worker was at a loss for how it had happened, but Fred and Kathy exchanged knowing looks.  Sarah had just performed her first act of accidental magic.

A few days later, Sarah was adopted and going home with the Monroes.  After a long discussion, they decided not to change Sarah's last name.  The girl had already lost a mother, and no one knew who her father was.  It wouldn't be fair to take the last thing she had from her birth family.

Frank was a low-level employee for the Washington State Department of Magic and Kathy worked as a nurse in a nursing home for the elderly.  As such, they didn't have time to teach Kathy at home the way most Wizarding families did.  They sent her though the muggle school system.

Sarah grew up with a bit of a troublemaker streak.  She wasn't a bully though.  She never pranked someone who couldn't handle it.  Never the poor kid nor the kid everyone made fun of.  Despite her code of ethics, all throughout her pre-K and elementary school days, she found herself standing outside the principal's office on several occasions.

At eleven, she got her letter to Valle del Sol High School.  At fourteen she got expelled from Valle del Sol High School.  She just thought it would be funny if that compulsive liar Justin's pants caught on fire and he couldn't put it out.  She hadn't really thought that one through.  Last she had heard, he was still in Saint Peter's Hospital for Magical Illnesses and Injuries doing physical therapy.

Frank and Kathy were unsure what to do with her.  They finally decided the best thing was to send her to her strict Aunt Bertha in England for the summer until Hogwarts started up.  Maybe the change in scenery would do her good.  And if not, Kathy knew that her sister could whip her into shape in no time.  She was a guidance councilor at a juvenile detention center, after all.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Personality:
She's always up for a good prank, but due to her own personal code of ethics, she tries to stay away from those who are already picked on or those who have more important things to worry about.  She doesn't always think her pranks through, though and has caused injury multiple times.

She also knows how to carry a grudge.  Those who cross her rarely live it down.

Appearance:

Sarah's 5'2" with dirty blond hair that goes down to her mid back.  She usually ties it off in a pony tail.  She has brown eyes.  She has an average bust size for a girl her height.

Her only really remarkable feature is a birthmark on her right hip that looks like a wizard's hat.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY

Option II Sample Roleplay Response:

Sarah had been trying to get used to the maze that was Hogwarts.  Valle del Sol had been much easier to navigate.  Then again, it had been designed to be a school, not a castle.  There were no secret passageways, pretend doors, or trick steps.  Utterly lost, she turned into an empty corridor.

"Hey! Wait up! It’s for the paper!" A voice behind her called.  Sarah turned and saw a blond girl chasing after her.

"This could be fun," Sarah thought to herself, a smile forming on her lips.  Reporters loved an interesting character, and Sarah loved pranking.  How great would it be if she could play a prank on the entire school through the school paper?

"What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross," the reporter had inquired.

Sarah's smile grew.  It was the perfect question.  "Frog legs a delicacy?  Give me a break.  They taste okay, but they aren't great.  Now what they should be serving are Rocky Mountain Oysters.  I could eat those all day."

Sarah was sure one of two things would come next.  Either the question along the lines of "What is a Rocky Mountain Oyster?" or a look of absolute disgust as the reporter heard her reply.
