Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Born in Stockholm, Sweden into an old and influential wizarding family, the oldest of the Lundgren children, Markus had been the black sheep since he could talk.

Though he got on with his four younger sibling most of the time, he was constantly at odds with his parents,  arguing about everything from different ethical and political views to minor things like Markus constantly breaking curfew.

The move to England soon after the beginning of the war did nothing to smooth things over. If anything, it made the fight worse.

Every time his parents tried to shape him into the proper young wizard who would one day take over the (not very legal) family businesses, Markus would disappear, sometimes for days at a time.

One evening, at the end of one of their more heated arguments, his father stated no son of his would act like he was, and if he wanted to stay in the family he should readjust his attitude, which drove Markus to say if this was how family acted he wanted no part in it.

The same night, Markus packed his bags and some cash he had stashed away, left in the early hours of the morning and never looked back, ignoring his parents calls to come home, though he still does write to his oldest sister every once in a while to ease her worry.
Very soon Markus realized the amount of cash he had taken with him would not suffice even for a year, so he began job hunting, which proved harder than he could have imagined. It appears no one wanted to hire an outcast from a country far away with no school record and not a penny to his name.

He had managed to strike up a deal with a muggle pub keeper; in return for doing some work around the pub during the day, he could live in the bedroom above the pub and get one hot meal a day.

Markus is often described as handsome but rather moody. He often flirts with the pubs customers, though nothing serious has come of it. He is rather fond of reading, though it is hard to find the time these days.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
Markus weaved his way through the crown, long given up apologizing to every person he bumped into.

That morning he had been sent to go fetch some more supplies for the pub, which involved walking all the way to the other side of London and drag back a big keg of beer. Cursing as yet another stranger nearly shoved him into a lamp post, he heard a cry from nearby.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

It seemed people were ignoring the lady in disstress, but Markus, being brought up to be a gentleman, could not ignore the plea for help.

After a good minute of being tossed around and fighting against a tide of people rushing off to wherever they were headed, he came upon a lady on the ground, apparently distraught over the fate of her shoes.

It did seem rather trivial an issue to him, though what with living with two women for most of his life he was more than used to it.

He gave the woman a brilliant smile and kneeled down beside her, ignoring the curses of people who found them in their way.

"Hello madam, it seems you are in need of aid. How can I be of assistance?"

Ava Adair

Biography: (100 words minimum.)
The Lundgrens are an old Swedish wizarding family, known for their elegance and shady business practices. Rich and imposing, they pride themselves on their family heritage.

Elin Lundgren was born into an old wizarding family in Sweden. Her parents Agneta and Adam Lundgren were both quite strict and set in their ways, doing anything in their power to keep the family name in a good light.

Their task was made hard by Elin’s older brother Markus.  After years of trying to straighten him out, they decided to remove him from the family name and heritage. After this event, leaving Elin the eldest of the three younger siblings (Freja, Nik and Hanalise), she felt the full pressure of her parents to be the perfect child.

In her early years (before her elder brother was thrown out of the family), Elin spent a good deal of time at the piano and in the library, her parents spoiling her as well as raising her in the ways of high society. She often followed the help around, listening intently to their stories and engaging in games with them since her parents were often too busy for such trivial things.

Later, her daily routine was changed to daily lessons on everything from music to politics; Elin was being brought up as the new heir to the Lundgren family name. She accepted the title gladly, feeling it was her duty to her family.

Some years later, Elin and her family moved to London as the war took full swing and her father took a post at the Ministry. As soon as she arrived in Britain, Elin hated it, constantly reminiscing about Sweden with its long winters and picturesque countryside.

Roleplay:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Elin hated the park.

She simply saw no need to go out and look at the local fauna for god knows how long. he especially didn't like all the loud people that seemed to gather here. But since mother had insisted she go out and experience the English life, the girl found herself sitting on a bench, her face buried in the book.

She would have much rather stayed inside, where it was nice and cool, drinking tea while she sat in the library or practicing her music.

Perhaps if she focused on the book hard enough the annoying Brits could be ignored?

"You!"

Apparently not. With a dramatic sight she raised her head from her much beloved book to peer at who ever dared disturb her, which in this case seemed to be a child.

"...Do you want to play?"

Elin raised one well maintained eyebrow at the child. A few seconds before she had had her face buried in a book, so Elin had no idea what gave the child the idea she would want to play.

But, small children were Elins weak spot and the girl reminded her slightly of her youngest sister, so she wiped the annoyed look off of her face and replaced it with a slightly amused expression.

"Sure, why not?"

The fact that her parents insisted she attend Hogwarts, instead of a different school back home like the rest of her family upset her to no end.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Ravenclaw or Slytherin

Personality:
Elin is very stoic and composed. Having inherited the family's knack for the perfect memory, she prides herself on her intellect and owns a vast collection of books, some a few hundred years old that have been passed down the family line.

She could be described as an ‘ice princess’, appearing very serious and uncaring, though nothing could be further from the truth. She feels deeply for her younger sibling (her relationship with her parents being rather strained), and she is loyal to her friends, though when it comes down to it she would choose her family name over friends.

Appearance:
Tall with dark hair and fair skin, she is always impeccably dressed in only the finest of dresses, and would refuse to leave her room if her appearance is not perfect.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

Elin winced at the shouting, burrowing herself further into the thick book she was reading, grumbling under her breath about ‘annoying brits’. It seemed like there was no end to the loud shouting and yelling at Hogwarts, no matter where she tries to hide herself, much to her dismay.

Perhaps if she concentrates hard enough she can just ignore them?

Her furious concentration was broken by a sneeze loud enough to wake the dead. Now thoroughly annoyed, she finally raised herself from her books to glare at whoever was making so much noise. Her dark eyes focused on a boy about her age, and she gave him her best glare that generally sent the staff scurrying away.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

She harrumphed and sat up straighter, her hands folded on her lap as she fixed him with another glare.

“Well, you could try not to be such a loud menace for one.” She began as she stood elegantly from her perch on a windowsill “And how can one not stare when you are being so loud it would be impossible to not?”

Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.
Blimey, the Great Hall was packed. It seemed like everywhere a guy looked there was some clown waving around a House banner or yelling about the game.

'Can you believe it?' 'No way!' 'This must be the biggest upset in Hogwarts Quidditch history...'

Stupid Quidditch.

James flopped into an empty seat at the end of the table, shoved an empty plate out of the way, and let his head sink onto his crossed arms, squishing his freckled nose down flat against the tabletop. He wasn't sure why he'd even bothered to come here, since he definitely wasn't hungry. He'd probably never eat again, in fact. He didn'tdeserve to eat. He hadn't stopped in the locker room to change out of his muddy, sweaty uniform after the game either, because he was pretty sure he probably didn't deserve to be clean too; and anyway he couldn't stand to see the looks on his team mates' faces after he blew their chance at winning one of the biggest games they had ever played.

Just one lousy shot. That's all it would have taken. If he could have just got that one stupid foul shot to go through that one stupid hoop, they could have won and he wouldn't have been the biggest blockhead in the entire school.

As if to prove the point, half the people at the next table suddenly broke into a loud victory chant. James pressed his face further into his arms to hide the bright red blotches he could feel creeping up his cheeks. That was it. He was just going to have to run away and move to Nova Scotia. He'd just cost the three-year-in-a-row Champions the Quidditch Cup! How do you ever live that one down for crying out loud? He was only a second year and he was going to spend the rest of his life as 'that dumb cry-baby kid who dropped the Quaffle!'

It felt like every set of eyes in the room was boring into him, and James couldn't stand it anymore. He jerked himself back up from the table and stomped right back out of the Hall the same way he had come in. As he stormed into the quieter hallway outside, he could hear footsteps somewhere behind him. James rounded on the sound and began to shout, his brown eyes shining with tears. "WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

The girl stood in the Great Hall, four books held to her chest as she looked around for a place to sit. It seemed as if every student in school was talking, whispering or outright shouting about the game today. Personally, Ava didn’t see what all the fuss was about. Honestly, it was just a silly game over an unnecessarily ornament cup, but since most of the student body was gaga over Quidditch, she kept that fact to herself, left someone slip some worms or worse into her bed at night.

It seemed the only free seat was at one end of a table where one of the losing teams’ player sat, his head down on the tabletop. Ava felt a pang of sympathy for the boy; being the reason your team lost is probably not the best feeling. She stared as he rose from the table and stomped out of the Hall and out to the corridors, and, feeling unusually sympathetic at the moment, she followed.

Ava let out a small squeak as the boy rounded on her and began to shout, dropping her books in the process. When he was done shouting at her, she stood up to her full height, which wasn’t that much, and crossed her arms over her chest “Calm down. It was just one bad game, it’s not like this hasn’t happened before. Just ignore everyone else and go about your business, and people will be talking about something else in less than a week.”

Roleplay Response:
Ava was not used to being shouted at, so when she heard the other girl she startled so much she dropped the book she was holding to the ground.

She had not planned on going outside at all today, but was ushered out anyway, only managing to grab a book before she was gently shoved outside and told to 'Go get some sun and socialize.' What ever that meant. She had gone to the park planning on finding a shady tree to read under in peace.
She turned and looked at the girl in surprise, her grey-blue eyes wide as she brushed a stray strand of her long light hair behind her ear. What shocked her even more, though, is when the girl asked her to play.

She blinked her large eyes, her mind trying to process the request. She has never been asked to play before, mostly due to the fact she rarely went outside anymore, and also because most kids thought she was weird, what with her rarely going outside and being so quiet all the time.

"I-er-sure!" she said, her face breaking into a huge smile as she stepped closer to the girl, her book now completely forgoten.
