Once upon a Time...

Marcus Antares Vega is born on the 11th of December 1914 in the city of London, to a seer mother, and a second-son father unable to live up to the expectations of his family. The death of his mother brings the little family to move from their childhood home in Norway, when his father is offered a job in the Daily Prophet. The 14 year old Marcus Vega enter Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw.

The young Marcus is an overachiever, one that wants to be best at everything he does. He sets his marks: His 5th to 7th year is spent captaining the Quidditch team, he becomes Prefect, then Head Boy, and sign up for the Advance Guard, an offer that will bright bring him straight into Auror training upon graduation. However...

Marcus A. Vega was declared dead on the 24th of August 1933. His father carries his burnt corpse out from the remains of their family home.

Years pass. Things are forgotten. People move on.

A Marcus double turns up under the name of Lukas Altair, side by side with some of the most important politicians of the time. He spends his years travelling the world before political shifts turn the wheels around and he disappears again, going in and out from the shadows.

A few attempts are made at communicating and participating in the world. In 36-37 Lukas co-professors a duelling class at Hogwarts together with Francis Turin. In 39-40 he teaches the mysterious class of Theory of Dark Arts at Beauxbatons Institute. In 41-42 he teaching Conjuring and Summoning at Hogwarts, only to confirm that the only student he only ever cared about was himself. In 1943 he is drafted into Merlin's Order of Defence, upon which he immediately demands the title of Captain and gets it. This is where he stays until the Hexenreich takes over.

Again, he disappears.

Then a new shop is set up in Knockturn Alley - a book business, focusing only on the strangest and rarest of books, carrying the odd name of Muspell. Few are the people he talks to. Few are those who know him. But many remember him to be dead.

past: we met at Hogwarts when you were a professor and I was an insecure student. This is the first and immediately last time we spoke with one another. I have not seen you since but I feel like that nightly stroll outside somehow stuck with me over the years.
present: nothing much. But please an impromptu meeting at Muspell?
future: I don't know. Divination never was my best subject.

PAST: Perhaps acquaintances from Hogwarts, Hermes is four years younger, perhaps they knew each other but never really spoke as friends.
PRESENT: Hermes recognizes him in his new shop?
FUTURE: They ensue some sort of friendship, or more.

IMPETUOUS | DAUNTLESS | VYING

PAST: We go way back, to our days as students at Hogwarts. You are the only person I really consider to be a "brother" to me. We've been through both good and bad, but somehow our friendship has survived it all.
PRESENT: Nights out on the town when we want to forget about responsibilities. Friendly rivalries about picking up women and other shallow adult frivolities.
FUTURE: Probably more of the same. Damien continuing to seek out assistance from Marcus when he no doubt makes some sort of new mess of his life.

[Thomas Ellwood-Luxe]

PAST: There would be no past.
PRESENT: Thomas wonders into the bookshop looking for Quidditch Strategies, they get talking about anything, Thomas would probably find something to say about anything.
FUTURE: Perhaps Thomas makes his visit to the store more annual.

Sarah Ann Darcy

CONCEITED | STRONG WILLED | VINDICTIVE

PAST: I doubt they ever interacted very much, but I believe they may have been around Hogwarts at the same time while she was a student and he was a Professor.
PRESENT: Sarah has been a bit of a mess for the past couple of years, carrying more problems than she can handle alone, she's probably more than a little vulnerable (not that she'd care to admit it). Many a reason may lead her to stumble into Muspell for a book or two.
FUTURE: Who knows depending on how things go, though she's still working on her empath abilities and trying to keep things under control.

[Maximillian Morgenstern]

INTELLIGENT | OUTGOING | ACHIEVER

PAST: Don't think they know each other, he was born and lived in Germany, and went to school their, he didn't come to London until last summer.
PRESENT: They meet at his shop, they have a flirting/friendship kind of relationship. They go out together, have coffee, go adventuring, spend quite a bit of time together.
FUTURE: Anything is possible, they become closer as friends, spend more time together, generally enjoy life together.

PAST: Lukas Altair pushed Nora to do more when no one else did. She interned for two years under Spenser Malthus at the MoM because of his prodding, and became a reporter when the Ministry barred her from entry.
PRESENT: Nora has hit a rut in her life, but is now looking into things she should not be: investigating those who died and lived again. She knows of three - and her former professor may be one.
FUTURE: Nora is a girl who digs too much into subjects best left forgotten, and Marcus may wish to leave the past alone.

PAST: Pureblood, Ravenclaw graduate, 19. Recently returned from Tibet while doing herbological research for the Ministry, which ended in disaster and an incapacitated partner. Adjusting back to life amid the masses. Guilty for the condition of her partner (and secret love).
PRESENT: Growing desperate as the condition of her partner remains the same (poor). Looking for a book store that he had told her about one night in the deep jungles of Bhutan. He seemed to regret piquing her curiosity about the place. Now she's on a mission to find it.
FUTURE: St. Mungo's healers aren't working fast enough. Is there another way to help her partner recover? Some deeper, more unusual magic buried in the pages of a forgotten book?
