Where did the time go? It felt like yesterday that she was playing by the lake, under the supervision of the seemingly-giant German nanny. Except 'yesterday' had been about five decades ago. She was still visiting Gretchen once every three months. Of course, the tall aged greyish-blonde was still calling her Fraulein. More out of habit than anything else. And because Gabrielle wasn't protesting against it. In-between her visits, sometimes Imogen would also make a house call. Just to confirm to herself once again that Gretchen hadn't shrunk an inch ... or for other more pleasant reasons.

Summer had arrived and that had prompted Gabrielle to get out of the house and spent more time outdoors. The destinations varied from week to week. This week, her footsteps had taken her to her old stomping grounds. Well, not really stomping ... but you get the point. Imogen's birthday had just been celebrated accordingly a few days earlier. So, perhaps this was more of a trip down memory lane than anything else.

She was currently sitting cross-legged in the grass by the lake in a sundress, enjoying the sunshine and staring across the stretch of water. Memories were coming and going through her mind, as her eyes just seemed fixed on a point in the distance. Except they weren't ... just a blank stare as her mind was travelling years backwards. From behind, she could've been easily been mistaken as her Mom 30 years earlier.

Even to a trained eye.
