Candidate Platforms Announced!

The Daily Prophet is proud to publish the platforms of the Minister of Magic candidates. Please see below.

Atticus Rivera
  • A renewed push for equality for non-human beings in society and within the government.
  • Explicit government support of continued efforts to push back against the blood-purity debate to further improve the lives of Half-Blood and Muggle-Born citizens.
  • While maintaining the Statute of Secrecy, expand the relationship between the Wizarding and Muggle governments to better ensure the safety of both communities.
  • Strengthen our relationships with other magical governments via increased funding to and enrichment of the Department of International Magical Cooperation.
  • Establish a robust government program to assist disadvantaged students in getting their school supplies (including robes, textbooks, stationary, and more) for all seven years spent at Hogwarts.
  • Reinforce the expected curriculum of Hogwarts but reduce Ministry oversight in the way that the professors teach and give more freedom to the school’s staff to decide the best ways to educate students (within reason).
  • Increase funding to under served departments such as the Magical Social Affairs office and the Magical Creatures office.
  • Establish new guidelines that balances the power of the Wizengamot with other legal entities so that there is not one body that has more strength over another. In other words, a checks and balances system so that the Wizengamot does not have as sweeping and deep running power to control legislation.

Tomas Bellestorm

  • Secure Future for Children: Ensure a safe, prosperous world for magical children, untainted by external threats.
  • Economic Prosperity: Strengthen the wizarding economy by focusing on internal growth and reducing reliance on Muggles.
  • Magical Britain for Wizards: Prioritize the needs of the wizarding community, excluding non-magical beings from governance.
  • Respect and Order: Establish a strong, authoritative government to restore law and order in the wizarding world.
  • Harness Tradition: Revitalize ancient wizarding traditions for the modern era.
  • Unite Against Threats: Protect the community from werewolves, vampires, giants, and veela.

Matthias Bianchi
  • Represents the labor unions, working class level of witches and wizards.  Has deep rooted trade partnerships with many well-known suppliers across the world.  Was a key member of the Department of International Magical Cooperation for many years, specifically instituting key policies in the Magical Trading Standards Body and the Magical Law Office, as pertaining to foreign commerce.
  • Focus on increasing community outreach programs across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales for Squibs and Muggleborns in adulthood
  • Invest in infrastructure improvements for key focal magical locations, such as the Ministry, St. Mungo's, and Diagon Alley.  Ensure the outdated locations are modern and well supported to last the next millenia.
  • Promote Hogwarts co-op and internship programs across the wizarding community.  Establish incentives for businesses to take on almost-grads.  Encourage Hogwarts curriculum to lean towards more practical applications over theoretical.
  • Strengthen laws protecting Muggles and increase discipline for misuse of magic and abuse of the Statute of Secrecy
  • Strengthen relationships with other magical governments through increased export of British magical goods while increasing inspections and monitoring of imports and exports
  • Cater to businesses by offering tax incentives, grants, and positive publicity in exchange for sponsoring public events, be them infrastructure, national security, or research improvements
