Early Life
Born out of wedlock to Pascaline Sauveterre, Anneliesse's first memories are those of hushed voices. Her mother's family, the Sauveterres, were gracious enough to allow Anneliesse to stay with the family, at her mother's pleading, that Anneliesse's father would soon return from the war and would marry her, that Anneliesse's father knew about his daughter, and wanted her, and furthermore wanted to be in her life.
The war came and went, and letters from Anna's father stopped coming.
Or so she was told: she wasn't even two when the war ended.
Raised alongside her half-sister, Rosemarie, in Provence, Anna had no conception for a long time that there was anything different about the two of them. Perhaps Anneliesse was treated a bit differently: she wasn't allowed to go out as often, made fewer public appearances than Rosemarie did, did not leave to go to the girls' preparatory school that Rosemarie did. She was told through her life that she was sickly and must be kept indoors for her health. They were sisters, and Rosemarie, too, had no father, so it was her natural assumption that it was the same father that they did not have; this conception would be shattered when Anna was eight years old, and her strict and cold grandfather sat her down to tell her that she was not a Sauveterre, and that her true family had been found and contacted and that Anna would be leaving France and going to live with them shortly.
Only a couple of months after her ninth birthday, Anneliesse was sent away to Wales, where she would live with her paternal grandfather, Nehemius, at his little estate of Bwthyn Pell and attend school at Blackhill Wood School of Magic until such time she was old enough to attend Hogwarts.
Her father, Anna was told by her grandfather, had not been heard from since the war.
