Summer Workshop Prompt #2

There's a moment in every young witch or wizard's life when they make something extraordinary happen. First signs of magic are almost always accidental, uncontrolled, and surprisingly powerful. Here's your chance to write that first moment your character proved they were worthy of Hogwarts.

Your Task

Write the moment when your character exhibited their first sign of magic. It could be something small or something big, but keep it realistic -- no fantastic displays of perfectly controlled spells, just lots of chaos or maybe a miracle! Your character might have been a baby when it happened or almost at the point of receiving their Hogwarts letter, so think about your character's age as well as what the magic might have been. If you're a Squib, why not write a moment (or a series of moments) where your character or their family were hoping for signs of magic, only to be sorely disappointed. As always, the site rating and rules apply, but outside of this, feel free to get creative!

How do I start?
three simple steps

1. Start a new thread in the Summer Workshop forum. It should be called
Prompt 2: Title of Your Piece
2. Write your piece, following the prompt above.
3. Review the pieces of others (see How To Workshop).
