Summer Workshop Prompt #1
It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Summer 1957 has plunged all campers right into a horror story that's waiting to happen, and this prompt has decided to do the same. Here's your chance to write a short and spooky story with your character as the protagonist!

Your Task

'It was a dark and stormy night'. Finish this starting prompt with a short piece of fiction featuring your character. You can write as much or as little as you like. Though the summer theme is horror, you can take the story in any direction and in any genre you choose. You can write in our current timeline or any AU. There are no rules, other than that the piece has to start with those seven words!

How do I start?
three simple steps

1. Start a new thread in the Summer Workshop forum. It should be called
Prompt 1: Title of Your Piece
2. Write your piece, following the prompt above.
3. Review the pieces of others (see How To Workshop).

All credit to DOLORES HOLIDAY for this prompt idea!

i've got sunshine on a cloudy day
when it's cold outside i've got the month of may
i've got so much honey the bees envy me
i've got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees
