Summer Workshop Prompt #2
Synesthetic

Synesthesia is a condition in which two or more of the five senses are involuntarily and automatically joined together. There are many forms of synesthesia, including the belief that letters, numbers, and words have a certain color attached. (Fun fact: the Leon's muggle is a sound/color synesthete (also known as chromesthesia).)

Your Task

Choose a character, and one form of synesthesia. Write a piece in which two of the five senses are inexplicably linked for that character. Maybe sounds have certain textures to them, or a words are different colors. The synesthesia can add a new layer to your descriptions of these senses. It can also provide a confusing phenomenon for your character - how do others react to being told that Beethoven's Fifth is blue, or that the number eight smells like daisies?

How do I start?
three simple steps

1. Start a new thread in the Summer Workshop forum. It should be called Workshop Prompt 41B: [Title of your piece]
2. Write your piece, following the prompt above.
3. Review the pieces of others (see How To Workshop).

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, and happy writing!
