Hi counsellors! Welcome!

Camp Loki this term - in fitting with our christmas period - will be victim to a strange turn in the weather that bought snow in July and August! The powers that be don't all that interested in fixing the issue ...

Below is a list of things we need from you in order to get camp up and running. These should be complete by November 25th to give us a few days to deal with the end of term. Please copy and paste this list into your check-in and be use to keep it up to date!

Lastly, please pick two camps you'd like to lead, first preference first, and include which age range you'd like from the following:

11 - 13
14 - 16
16 - 19

This can be done between each pair of counselors. As we're 'wintering' up the camp, we need to accomodate for keeping people warm in cold environments! Think log fires, flannel quilts, fur throws, sleigh rides ... we're going alpine!

Please ensure that you've provided a new description for:

The Valley (Team Tinsel)
- The Old Boathouse
- Loki's Chalet
- The Lake (The mouth of a river. both need names!)

The Cliff (Team Icicle)
- Forra Cliffs
- Loki's Cave
- Glas Falls

The Peak (Team Star)
- The Peak (mountain top)
- Loki's Igloo
- The Forest

Please also provide a description for your EC area (Quidditch/Quodpot; Dueling; Hospital Wing)


2. Welcome letter to new members
Below is my example from Theo's camp days! This letter is more effective if it's tailored to your character, and you will have to send it to every new member that is assigned to your cabin.

Curfew can be no later than 11:30 pm but can be earlier.

Hello! Welcome to Team Star! My name is Theo and I’ll be your campdaddy (Counselor) for your stay.

Located at 135°, Team Star have the best cabins, complete with views of the whole camp (all the better for plotting invasions of other teams with), telescopes to take advantage of those clear nights we’re sure to have, and tapestries of our Team Star Mascot, which will be revealed in the Team OOC (your place to go for all things Team Star), and a number of odd objects, and if you’re nice to me, all the sweets a camper could want.

Students are housed by age, and your cabin holds students aged between 10 – 12 years old from Salem, Beauxbatons or Hogwarts! Boys and girls are split, so don’t worry boys, you won’t get cooties, and don’t worry girls, they won’t be able to steal your midnight-feast marshmallows. Curfew is 10pm – please stick to this, otherwise it won’t be nice for me to have to stop you having sweets and having to wake up extra early to take you on long boring hikes in which we’ll be studying the local biowotsits. It will be fun to make up more punishments if they seem too popular, though.

Your first port of call is to check in here! As mentioned earlier, this is your OOC for the summer, and it’ll be the most helpful place to go for Team Star information, see who’s in your cabin via the cabin listings and to get started on any of the activities which your team star campdaddies (counselors) will be holding throughout the summer.

Once you’ve done that, take a look at the Summer Schedule and keep an eye out for the Quidditch, Quodpot and Dueling sign-ups!

I added reminders to the Calendar about moving the Workshop prompts to the appropriate forums. I can move the first two, but I'll be away by the time prompt #3 needs to go live. Can somebody please remember to move it?
