Anna eyed a particularly entrancing jar that was filled to the brim with rainbow sprinkles.

"So- these items," she said, after a moment of solemn contemplation. "They go on, not... in."

She squeezed Elsie's arm, bristling with excitement at the possibilities.

"What limit is there? What number? Of items?"

HI JIP!!!!!!!

i'm looking forward to playing with you again <3 <3 <3 <3

also every time i see a bike i think about you. i wish i had the bike skills you have.

@lycus: hi jip <3333333333333333

walks are the BEST. i usually just walk from my house and around and back so my path doesn't vary too much lately, but once a week or so i try to go to a place with a nice long path to have a nature walk at nearby places i don't often go. i have seen a lot of neat mushrooms lately.

and tomatoes are the worst. they taste like a sneeze and have a goo texture and that is evil. cooked tomatoes can stick around, though. they have had the evil boiled out of them.

i would LOVE to thread with lycus please please. anything you like.

those colors sound sooo nice for two-color brioche. it's one of my very favorite textures to knit now and seeing the colors play with each other is so fun and squishy. the red yarn lifeline thing is SO SMART and i'm always too lazy or hubristic (or both?) to try it out myself. one of these days i'll have to give in. also the brioche shorthand is SO FUNNY i did an extremely ugly laugh the first time i saw "brkyobrkyobrk" in writing. it looks so ridiculous. burps. snort.

i def have a couple of characters that orin would have business with in one way or another i'll shoot you a pm and we can plan something out!!!!!

@eviguin: hi jord omg!!! i definitely remember shae o'leary, i'm fairly certain we actually joined for the first time within the same week in 2011! it's lovely to see you, welcome back to you too!!!! i would love to thread anna with either (or BOTH!) of your kiddos, that sounds wonderful!!!

"No." she said. Anna paused, then added, "No, at all."

English idioms. She was a master.

Anna had seen the hot chocolate that other campers had concocted: thick decadent mugs piled with whipped cream and candies and peppermint and sprinkles and little squashy marshmallows. It had intrigued her. She squeezed Elsie's hand, curling around her friend's arm to hug it to her body.

"You have made it, yes? It is chocolate, but it is hot?"

Maman had allowed her hot milk with coffee, Uncle had always allowed her tea.

dining hall

It was very, very cold. Anna stood in front of the hot beverage station, wondering how it could truly be June. She reached a hand out to her left, without really making sure that her target was within reach, and tugged the sleeve of Elspeth's blouse.

"Elsie," she said, eyes fixed at the array in front of her, fist clenched on fabric. "how is it to make hot chocolate."

@ren: HI REN!!!!!! it's really good to see you!!!

isn't yarn just so easy to :' ( i have a whole big box of it, too. theoretically all the skeins are for projects i'm planning to do, but will i get to them? time will tell.

i'm not in any d&d campaigns right at this very moment just because it's been so difficult to get everybody scheduled together (even playing online!) but i was actually the dm! it was a really fun campaign and i'm hoping to be able to continue it sometime in the future.

and i DO have lots of vegetarian recipes if you need or want any ever just let me know! i was also vegan for a good chunk of time, while i worked at this plant-based restaurant, so i kind of just cook vegan out of habit by accident all the time. i found it's a lot easier to replace things with vegetarian alternatives than perhaps it seems. lately, i've been really into making this yummy autumn veggie soup that has all sorts of filling stuff in it. it makes you feel like you're doing yourself a kind favor.

it seems ren is a couple of years above anna, but perhaps they'll still cross paths?

@feyre: hi feyre!! thank you!!!!

there is absolutely nothing wrong ever about putting milk in your coffee. i don't remember exactly when i stopped putting sugar in mine, but i think it was a laziness thing? i've been a barista for quite some time (well, before lockdown, anyway) and it just became a pain to make myself a sweet drink when i just needed caffeination fast. now, sweet coffee just tastes wrong to me!! what have i become!!!

i would love to thread feyre and anneliesse sometime!!!! she's not very good at being social yet, but as they're the same age they're bound to be on each other's radars <3 what's feyre like?

@orin: it's nice to meet you too!!! i've been quite off and on for the past couple of years so i hope it's not weird for me to say welcome to the site <3 i hope you'll find it as loving and comfortable as i have through the years.

i am WITH YOU on the unfinished project thing. i have a lovely big blanket that i started knitting and got most of the way through.... in 2016 U_U i've finished a number of projects this year just because of lockdown and unemployment but some have just been sitting there and sitting there.... a tragedy. but my goodness a brioche stitch jumper sounds like itd be just gorgeous, what colors are you using?? i learned brioche just this year and it's really tedious but so rewarding.

if you need a grown-up for orin to interact with, i actually have quite a backlog of characters, most of whom are adults now. what kind of person is orin? who would you like him to be associating with?

@ada: omfg hi??!!!??! welcome back right back at you!!!! i wasn't familiar with ada's name so i checked your alts and oh my godddd nostalgia punch. it's really nice to see you <3 <3 !!!

@vivian: cats forever!!!! i'd love to thread sometime. what's vivian like?

understandable, relatable. godspeed brave soldier.

hello, i am hannah :~)

i am a returning hsnet creature who was once known as dacian ellwood-luxe, cassius ellwood-luxe, lucretia chaucer... a few others. i first started playing in 2011 when i was sad about the last movie coming out and that there would be no more harry potter forever. boy was i wrong about that last bit.

anyway, the impact hsnet has had on my life is frankly silly, and very far-reaching, and i'm unemployed because of the way that the world is presently, so i am back for some more fun partying with you, my favorite people. hi, i love you. here are some more things about me if you would like to hear.

locale: pacific northwest united states
house: hovering somewhere between ravenclaw (51%) and slytherin (49%)
big three: virgo sun gemini moon capricorn rising
meyers-briggs: infj-t
coffee order: double iced americano, black
likes: coffee, cats, KNITTING!, taking walks, being awake before everyone else, buying yarn, baking, drinking water, journaling, d&d, the moooooooooon
dislikes: tomatoes, when strangers in the grocery store aren't wearing their mask over their nose, loud sounds, new moons, having greasy hair

- maximum number of cats lived with at one time: 6
- number of american states lived in: 5
- number of countries visited other than usa: 0
- number of years as vegetarian: 10
- number of grad schools applied to in 2020: 1
- number of objects knitted in 2020: 24
- number of cheez-its devoured in 2020: ∞
- most watched show of 2020: ready, steady, wiggle

about anneliesse : o)

14 - halfblood - french/welsh - unknown house
volatile, strange, and small, anna was born in france. she lived there until she was eight, when she was sent to live with her blood grandfather in wales after her mother's father-in-law sent her away. she spent a few tumultuous years attempting to attend the boarding program at blackhill wood school of magic, but it did not go well for her. now, she is trying hogwarts out for the first time as a rising fourth year. she is not expecting spectacular results, and is hoping, more than anything else, to find interesting places to hide and to eavesdrop.

she is the daughter of my original boy dacian. she does not really know this. if you ask, she will not enjoy it, but you are of course welcome to try. if you need a ruthlessly truthful opinion, would like some candy, or would like to hear a strange historical fact, give anneliesse a shout!!!!!!
