Stormy blue eyes had first settled on Adrian Alric, a boy from Ravenclaw (and Iceland, how about that?) who was slightly older than her but managed to put up with her nonetheless. He was ever so fancy sometimes. He used words she didn't know and spoke their mother tongue better than she ever could, but he didn't necessarily have his head situated up his behind like most of the students that donned blue and bronze. That was why he was one of few Ravenclaws she had ever really taken a liking to.

"I'm waiting!" She called again, flashing him a bright smile to make up for the rudeness in her request. She had a feeling he wouldn't appreciate her demands, but they got on well enough that she knew he'd have to make his way over.

That's what she told herself anyway. They were friends, right? And friends did not disappoint one another. That was very high up on the list of friendship rules, along with keeping each other's secrets and pinching people who were being mean to them. Biting worked too, but it wasn't worth the risk of cooties.

"M - Me?" Alfrida frowned, and quickly turned her head towards the sudden, unknown voice, "W - W - What do you want?"

"Does it matter?" She looked to Adrian who had gotten up, and then back to the boy whose face was as unfamiliar as his voice. She had honestly never seen him before in her life, which suggested that maybe he was only just starting Hogwarts. Then again, he looked older than her, so maybe he was just boring and kept to himself,  "I told youse lot to come here, didn't I? So come on."

Geez, what did a girl have to do to get a little assistance around here?

With a huff, she faced the lake once more and stared out at the water. It was impressively blue, and she could still just about make out a few twinkles. Three pairs of hands rather than one would certainly help her with her unnecessarily ambitious venture, especially since she had to try and navigate the waters to make sure she finds as many constellations and important stars as she could.

"Ms. Darwin, what a pleasure. I am here at your... command."

"Thank you, kind Sir." She responded, playfully attempting to match the formal tone of his voice and mimic his vocabulary, "Is the other gentleman present? I have a prepo... preposition for you both."

oopsie daisy!
early june, nineteen forty eight

Ideally, Alfrida would have been home for the summer. As much as she had enjoyed her first year at school, which had been nothing less than mesmerising, she missed her friends back in Derbyshire so much that it actually kind of hurt. Not all of them had been old enough to join her at Hogwarts, and saying goodbye had been incredibly difficult back in September.

It wasn't like she didn't make friends. She made loads of friends, and she had written about all of them in the tens of letters she sent home over the course of the year. However, she hadn't grown up with them and shared her life with them like she did with Vesta, and Lei-Li, and Gallileo, so it wasn't quite the same. Though, she disliked a lot of people back home too, so maybe that didn't matter.

Either way, her initial plans changed when she had heard about summer camp's ever changing scenery. At first, she branded those who told her about it a liar and rolled her eyes whenever they dared to bring it up. It just didn't make sense to her, and half of what they had told her resembled some very familiar locations in story books of hers. Nonetheless, the quicker summer came around the more people begun to talk about camp and all the wild possibilities it would hold for everyone who was going. Obviously, this meant Alfrida had to go and unfortunately, everyone was right.

So far, her favourite place was Mirrormere Lake. There were so many beautiful flowers and fishies that looked like rainbows, but best of all, she could always see the stars no matter what time of day it was by just looking at the water. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen. She hadn't even read about things like it in those really big books covered in dust that had supposedly been left for her.

Today, she planned on making additions to those books. To do that, she needed to get to know the area as well as she possibly could she meant she woke up, got dressed and rushed to the lake at the crack of dawn. By the time noon came around, she had spent most of her morning mapping out the stars she could see as she looked into (or onto? how on Earth did it work?) the lake. It wasn't easy, especially with all the fishies demanding her attention. She had only just managed to pinpoint a couple of constellations amongst the masses of twinkling stars and flashes of rainbow hues, but that wasn't good enough.

"Oi, you!" She called out, having sat up and turned away from the lake, "Yes, you! Come over here will ya?"

eleven. half icelandic. muggleborn.
With her sun sign in Leo, Alfrida is a very bright and passionate young girl with an opinion on anything and everything – even if she has no idea what she's talking about, which she doesn't most of the time. As well as this, she's proud and loud which a laugh that can light up a room, however, she's a stubborn little thing that can hold a grudge for a life time, even over something as silly as the last dessert. She likes astrology, her kitten Diana, and anything she can spend all her extra energy on.

MINI BIOGRAPHY
Originally born in Iceland, Alfrida Darwin was raised in the midlands of England in a large Tudor manor with almost fifty other children. Unfortunately, each of them have a single thing in common – their parents are dead. Oh, that and they were murdered by the people now raising them. Maybe it could be considered a tragic beginning to some, but those fifty children (including little Alfie) have never known any different, resulting in a pleasant but strict upbringing under some of the magical world's greatest scientists and philosophers who teach their knowledge and project spirituality onto them. To most, the institution is considered to be controversial, and they definitely wouldn’t be wrong, but with the death of the children’s families came the passing of Guardian rights and not a single person can do a thing to change it.
