1944 / To weave is to love (Mia)
« on: 04/18/2015 at 09:55 »
She looked over to Mia's basket. Or what was supposed to be a basket. Was it a basket? Looking down to her own she sighed a disproportionately long sigh for such an occasion and tossed the heap of tangled twigs to the side of her, resting her head in a defeated fashion on her hands.

"Prrrrrrf" she let the sound escape her lips as she blew the air through them making them vibrate.

She was absolutely bored.

"Are you really enjoying this?" Belle asked her crafty companion. She was only jealous that Mia's seemed better than hers. Maybe Belle would make hers into a hat.

"Why we have to do this without magic I cannot fathom. What is the point?" impatient as ever.

Penelope Wynovain, hands down. It was either a mistake or a wonderful thing, but either way, I modelled her ENTIRELY on myself. I gave her the same background, same family members, same upbringing and life experiences. She has surpassed me a little now, in beauty and confidence but at the time, the only thing i could think of was "write what you know". So I did!

OH man, too many! The most important and most played at the moment are:

Isabelle Oliveroot. 6th Year Raven. Very studious, very sarcastic and bossy. Has a good heart but doesn't show it to those she deems unworthy. She loves Muggle Crime novels and has an odd craving for custard sometimes.

Lyle Fittleworth: Only child, 7th year Huffle (but not being played at the castle this term, just an NPC) and is a very nice young man. Keeps to himself a lot. Likes boys (but no one knows except himself. He knows who he is). His mother passed away and his father has been drafted to the war. He is not dealing with that very well at all.

Lawrence Lavender: 11 Year old, hopefuly Slytherin and DREADFUL. Seriously, if you dont hate him I would judge you. He is odeous. Already thinks himself a ladies man and the most important boy at camp. Bit of a thing for throwing rocks at windows. Its good practice for aiming, and it makes a great sound when the glass breaks. He intends to bully his way through his homework and sleep his way through classes, whilst charming everyone with his superior (but none existant) charm.

I have some elsewhere characters and I should probably add them, but there really are too many.

I joined the site on August the 1st, 2010 at 12:01am. I actually found the site 2 days into the previous term and OBSESSED over it for three months, and pounced as soon as the site was accepting student applications!

My First character was Penelope Wynovain. She was a Ravenclaw, a Prefect, the Quidditch captain, and now works in the Dept of Mysteries. She has gone a little off the rails but she is still my most beloved character!

1943 / Re: Je suis désolé || MaëBelle Snaps
« on: 12/14/2014 at 23:48 »
She wanted to dump her books down and get a cardigain. She had been up on the deck reading for most of the afternoon and there was a breeze in the air making it just a little too chill for her to be in a sleeveless dress.

Making her way down to the gally to find her bunk (dratted hammock) and lugage she found herself rudely accosted by a shoulder. Allbeit a good looking shoulder, but accosted she was nonetheless.

She pouted with a frown, rubbing the offending spot until the suddent pain subsided.

"Je suis désolé, I mean, I'm very sorry. Are you quite all right?"

"C'est pas vrais!" she waved her hand, looking up into the familiar eyes of her cousins friend. He was also Torin's cousin if she remembered rightly. She coulnd't recall ever having had a conversation with the shoulder bumper but she wasn't going to let that stop her.

"Its fine. Minor collision. No lasting harm done" she rolled her shoulder round in its socket in an exagerated way and then smirked. "Actually, It feels a little tender" she clutched it melodramatically. "I think I might need surgery. Or the very least physical therapy".

Her grin widened.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" she asked nosily, neither noticing or caring how demanding her tone sounded.

Seadogs. It was rather unpleasant a term to say the least. She was highly dubious about it. Since being placed in this "team" for the summer Isabelle has given it quite a lot of thought. There was a lot of power in a name.

While it did conjure up rather unpleasant images, the term Seadog, and was of course the most common of the teams names, it also had some positive connotations as well. There wasn't a person alive that didn't at least know the term "Pirate". There were many stories about them. Legends, fiction and some books even claiming to be fact.

Isabelle was more of a crime novel fan, however she had read a few tales of the high seas. Seadog could possibly be taken to mean that, this particular team of "Pirates" was the most skilled. You didn't get to be called a Seadog unless you had been at sea a good while and had earned the rum in your bottle.

Not that Isabelle had any rum in her bottle. Nor a bottle for that matter.

But that being beside the point, Seadogs were the most cunning and the best of Pirates. They had a fearsome reputation and had evaded capture for a good many years.

Isabelle could live with that.

Strolling merrily onto the deck, she caught sight of her unruly (favourite) cousin and smiled. "Hey" she called over, making her way to him with light almost skipping steps. Cocking her head to the side she decided that she would start todays interation with small gripe. "This whole....pirate thing is all well and good, but If one more boy uses the fact as an excuse to call me a "Salty Wench" one more time, I will limax him quicker than you can say Kneazle"

With that she plopped herself neatly beside him on the deck and let her hands fall with a small slap into her lap, in a rather matter of fact way. "So....how are you? Have you brushed your hair this today?" she added, raising an eyebrow at him.

She couldn't decide. Did the rocking of the ship lull her to sleep? Or make her feel queezy. On the one hand she did sleep soundly, but she had been waking up every morning feeling rather nauseous, and that was never a good look.

Belle spent as little time as possible in the ship as she could. It was one thing to sleep in the place, but to spend most of ones time there? When there was so much to see at camp this year, not likely.

Isabelle had already been to the top of the volcano, or as high as students could get. The view from there was spectacular. The river was a sight too. She adored that but today it was looking like the cove was a good idea. She had heard rumour of another ship being built. Maybe there were more students this summer than they had expected? It was certainly getting cramped in her cabin.

Letting her toes drag and make little indented lines behind her in the sand, the lazily meandered across the sand to where she could see someone working on the rumoured ship. By hand? That was odd. Surely they would just....whip it up?

She had intended to just wander past and have a brief glance but the closer she got the more inquisitive she found herself. It was a single person working on it, not a team as she had anticipated, and they were using nothing but their hands. Piles of wood here and there. Ropes and tools. It was incomprehensible.

What sensible adul.....wait.

It was a student. Catching sight of the boys face he couldnt have been more than 16 or 17. She recognised him a little from around school. She chuckled to herself and made a more purposeful bee-line for the boy who, by the looks of it, had more than enough summer spirit. What on earth was he wearing.

Close enough now so that he could hear her she let out a small giggle at the sight before her and perched lightly atop one of the piles of wood, her dress ruffling slightly with the breeze, acompanied by her long wavey, (if somewhat frizzy due to the humidity) auburn hair.

"She called over to him in a friendly enough tone "What? The ships we already have not good enough?" she smirked and cocked her head to the side slightly, looking over the work he had already completed. An eyebrow raised slightly. "Its looking good".

Time for food was always a good time is Isabelle's oppinion. She was a slip of a thing, always had been, but she loved her food. It just didn't seem to settle on her hips, like it did with other girls, much to her dismay.

She would have liked a few curves. "They will come" her mother would say, but still. Patience was never easy.

The sunshine was rather inviting this afternoon and she took her tray, making her way to the door of the main hut to go and find somewhere outside to settle and perhaps people watch. Turning he body to miss a rather hurried young girl with wild hair she managed to miss the boy that was backing up to her.

"Ouch!" she called out, surprised with a moderate amount of pain. She rubbed her foot against the back of her other leg and frowned down at the boy just as his pumpkin juice emptied itself down her.

Taking a deep breath she simply stared down at herself. Looking back to the culprit of this mess, she narrowed her eyes. "Ugh.....careful will you?" she wasn't that annoyed. Accidents happened, Merlin knew she'd had enough of such mishaps in her years at Hogwarts.

Her expression softened. "Shame we can't use magic, this would be clean in two seconds" she sighed and shook her fiery curls about her face.

She was half expecting him to kiss her. This is what happened, wasn't it? Chance meeting, mischevious flirtation, excuses to get close and then kissing. It wasn't exactly the first time this had happened to her. But to her surprise he moved away.

Her eyes narrowed slightly for a moment with a hint of a grin at his reply. He was interesting to say the least. His features, his mannerisms, his voice. She liked to watch people, she always watched. Observed, mentally took notes. Torin Cadawallader had always been an interesting one to watch when she had the chance.

Admittance of that would, however, be unacceptable.

"Hmmm" she let her gaze drop now and thought carefully for a moment. She would never admit it to herself but she was out of her depth. A fish venturing into deeper water for the first time. Torin Cadawallader was deffinitely a step up.

She welcomed the challenge.

She heard his sigh and looked back to his face. "I guess our game is over." Eyes widened, followed by a small chuckle. A knowing smile played about her lips, "Well, it was your last cigarette".
