After curfew

He’d had the last straw. She’d blown up his door again, and he just couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t even go to Clint about it because he’d just tell Poppy she had a nice wand and be off. If it had been Av blowing up her door instead, Clint would have been furious at him.

He knew his parents would be furious at him, but he didn’t care. This camp was torture. He didn’t even bother repairing the door. Clint could do that himself after Avaric was gone. He had waited until after curfew so no one would see him, but he didn’t care if he got caught. What would they do to him anyway?

He threw all his things together in a bag until he got to the toy gorilla. He chucked it to the corner of the room. That could stay there. He didn’t want it anymore. It was from a different time, a different Poppy. He headed out towards the dining hall, one quick glance back through his blown up door. Good riddance.

5 July
afternoon

It was a nice day for a swim, and what better place than Niagara Falls? Or, well, their version of it. It was nice to go swimming without someone trying to shove you under all the time.

He laid out on the grass now, taking in the sun. It was nice and peaceful. Quiet. Something he didn’t get a lot of lately.

Before too long he heard someone approaching. “Decided you missed me too much?” he teased before looking over. It wasn’t Poppy he’d heard, but another girl. A part of him was a bit upset it wasn’t Poppy, but he shoved that down.

“Oh, sorry, I thought-”

He looked at her for a moment. “Meadows, yeah?” He’d heard rumours about the girl’s family, about her brother, the heir. About why she’d missed the last half of the past school year.

“Saw you at the party the other night. Thought that was you.” She had been fairly quiet, uninvolved.

second week of camp
Clint’s office

He dragged Poppy with him to Clint’s office. She’d done it this time and he couldn’t stand it. It was only the second week of camp and he couldn’t spend the rest of camp under these conditions.

He didn’t bother knocking and just barged into the director’s office.

“She blew up my door! She should be kicked out or… or… something.” He didn’t care how badly it reflected on her and therefore him if she was asked to leave Camp Loki. He couldn’t deal with it anymore.

First week of camp
After dinner

Poppy hadn’t spoken to him in a couple of days, and it was getting old. He was getting bored. He’d explored a lot of the camp during the week before the campers arrived. And what fun was exploring by yourself?

He remembered that the Pyramid had a bar inside. Not a bar bar of course, but some drinks and snacks. Perhaps he’d find a girl there to talk to. One better than Calliope Amberghast.

He ordered a butterbeer and sat back in a corner, watching everyone. He supposed if he saw someone particularly interesting he’d get up. But perhaps being the mysterious-figure-in-the-corner would work for him.

Friday, 3 July 1959

Avaric certainly wasn’t the type who enjoyed throwing parties. But Poppy had done a good job at convincing him to help and that was how he found himself here.

“You owe me for this,” he said as he set out the refreshments and snacks  However, the idea did seem interesting. “You’re not going to get jealous, are you?” He asked with his signature grin. He wondered if she would. He was sure she’d deny it, but it’d be fun to see.

Luckily there weren’t really many guys he was worried about snogging Poppy. Bracken had graduated, and the guys their age weren’t Poppy’s type. He imagined Poppy would probably wind up snogging a few girls, though. That would be fun to watch.

Hello lovelies!

I’m Luna! You may also know me as Julia Cole in chat (or just Juls for short). Unfortunately, I’m not creative enough to think of a cool theme, so you just get this boring thing instead.

Fun Facts
  • I’m a Hufflepuff IRL!
  • I joined the site in December 2010. I took a break from about… 2013-2016, though.
  • I’m originally from Louisiana. No, I did not have an alligator as a pet (my neighbors did, though.)
  • I now live in Ohio with my husband, Alex, and our 10-year-old dachshund, Apollo.
  • I love Lord of the Rings
  • I currently play a Tabaxi Shadow Monk in one D&D campaign and a Firbolg Druid in another.
  • Musicals and Disney are life.
  • I’ve acted in Rocky Horror Shadowcasts for almost 8 years now!
  • I haven’t done it as much lately, but I do enjoy making cosplay costumes. I’m not a great sewer (can’t follow a pattern to save my life). But if I have a good base costume, I can do a lot with it.
  • My TV shows lately have been The Good Place, Call the Midwife, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine!
  • My video games lately have been Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild. We also have an old-school systems room in our basement with our old nintendos and play stations
  • Board games! We have a 16x16 shelf just FULL of board games. My favourite is Betrayal at House on the Hill, but we play Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle a lot.
  • Dogs! I spent 5 years working with dogs, and now we foster dogs when we can. We’re currently foster a hound mix named Roux.
  • Crocheting! I don’t do it as often as I’d like and have a lot of started projects that maybe one day I’ll finish. lol.

My Characters

I’m always up for writing with people! So, here are all my current characters! If you want to thread sometime, just pm me, or hit me up in chat!

So, here at Camp Loki, I have Avaric Archeron. I also have Lawrence Cole, Olette Carroll, Vera Hudson Cole, Julia Cole, Mara Cole, and Corvus Rose.

Avaric Ophiuchus Perseus Archeron
16 | Pureblood | Unknown house

Avaric comes from a very pureblood family, and he would settle for nothing less. Avaric is attractive and he knows it. He is a Metamorphmagus and often uses it to impersonate other people (such as prefects). He doesn’t associate himself with non-purebloods typically. He is a bad boy who often breaks the rules.

Lawrence Russell Cole
13/14 | Halfblood | Gryffindor

Ren’s world got turned upside down at the end of term. He found out his girlfriend had been involved in a plot that was petrifying students all during term. He found this out when she tried to petrify herself but accidentally drank too much of the potion and died. Her ghost now haunts him and he just wants everything back to normal.

Olette Marie Carroll
18 | Squib | Florist

Once part of a well-known pureblood family, she was kicked out when it became obvious she was a squib. She spent a few months on the streets of London but has since lived at the Hogsmeade Children’s Home. She’s a bit shy around new people and takes a bit to open up. She’s been working at the Lilac Tree Greenhouse in Hogsmeade for the past few years and lives with her boyfriend, Will Cavendish, and their 6-month-old twins, Hawthorn and Holly.

Julia Rose Cole
21 | Halfblood | Magizoologist

Julia is adventurous and rather feisty. She currently works as a magizoologist at a rehab and rescue for magical animals. She also works part-time as a bartender at the Hag’s Head. She enjoys travelling whenever she gets the chance.

Vera Laine Cole (neé Hudson)
Forever 34 | Muggle-born | Magical Theatre Professor

Vera is the Magical Theatre professor at Hogwarts. She is very motherly and loves her children very much. She’s been a ghost for seven years now since passing away during childbirth.

Corvus Pryce Rose
34 | Pureblood | Mortician

Corvus is very laissez-faire about things. He runs the Morgue at St. Mungo’s and comes from a prestigious pureblood family. He and his wife, Athena, just had a son together, as well as taking care of his deceased cousin’s two-year-old daughter.

Mara Laine Cole
6/7 | Halfblood | Aspiring Ballerina!

Mara can be found at the Daycare practising ballet or playing with her dolls. She likes friends, but only if they’re nice. Her mom’s a ghost, but some moms just are ghosts, right? She isn’t aware that’s not ordinary. She is always down for new friends to play with!

First night of camp
After curfew

After all the kids in their cabin had gone to bed, Avaric and Gia headed to the Falls like he’d mentioned earlier in the day. He was simply wearing his swim trunks and a t-shirt, but was more excited to see what swimsuit Gia would be wearing.

Once they got to the top of one of the cliffs, Avaric removed his shirt. “Ever been cliff-diving?” He asked her with a wild grin. Despite was Calliope said about him, he definitely knew how to have fun when he wanted to.

1958 / Duel Two: Belrose v. Darcy v. Stone v. Amberghast
« on: 12/14/2019 at 02:06 »
Sunday, 3 August, 1958
Half past noon

Black silhouettes in the shape of winged scavengers circled high overhead, and a handful of reptiles sunned themselves in the burning light of the sun. The blistering heat proved too much even for the insects, who retreated into whatever shade could be found. Duelists, however, were offered no alternative except to bear the heat.

This part of the canyon stretched only a few meters wide - Useful for boxing in the duelists and forcing action. At other times of day, the canyon walls provided ample shade and provided a pretty restful atmosphere. Yet duels weren’t supposed to be restful and so the baking warmth provided an incentive for a duel that was fast-paced and didn’t muck about.

Six barrels of water, three on each side, demarcated the edges of the make-shift block. The water no doubt had begun to feel the heat of the day, but it was still water and thus ensured that no one would pass out on top of the cacti and sharp rocks that littered the duelling area.

On the other sides of the barrels were the stands so that people could watch. The duelists were given Wild West costumes to wear for the duel to make it more appropriate.

Avaric had the four stand at the center of the duelling area with their backs to each other, each facing a different cardinal direction.

“Alright, before we start we have to go over a couple of rules,” he said in a bored tone. He just wanted to see the duels, and thought using rules was bogus. But he was required to say them beforehand.

“Firstly, you can only disarm someone once. So make sure you make good use of it, I guess. Secondly,” he rolled his eyes and sighed. This was his least favourite rule. “Nothing too rough. The camp likes everyone in one piece.”

He looked between Calliope and the young ones. “You’ll each take 10 paces. After 10, turn and fire.” He gave a slightly sinister grin. He wished he was duelling instead. “1, 2, 3,” he started, slowly like in the western films others had talked about. He continued counting until he got to “10!”

Your referee for this duel is Avaric Archeron.

Only one successful disarming spell or action allowed per duelist.

Round 1 of 7:

Jane Belrose - 70%

vs.

Clara Darcy - 80%

vs.

Lysander Stone - 60%

vs.

Calliope Amberghast - 70%

Avaric surprisingly enjoyed being a counsellor. At first he had signed up for it because his parents said he should. It would ‘look good,’ or something. But he wasn’t interested in spending his summer with Hogwarts students, not when he was trying to transfer away.

However, being put in charge of them made it better. He wasn’t their equal now. Perhaps it could even lead to becoming Prefect. He was going into his fifth year, after all. He wouldn’t mind having this kind of power all year. Perhaps even Head Boy eventually. He wasn’t sure if Durmstrang had that, and even so, they wouldn’t let someone who hadn’t been there long be it. Perhaps it was best to just stay at Hogwarts.

So he just had to do well at being counsellor, and he was sure to get Prefect. He heard a noise that signified someone else was out this late. He turned towards the noise, the Lumos from his wand shining on the person to see who it was.

After the younger years’ curfew

Avaric hadn’t done much of the decorating. He’d left Gia in charge of that. Instead, he had made himself in charge of starting a bonfire and getting the food and drinks. With so many of the younger years running around the camp, it’d be nice to have a get together for the older students, he’d decided.

They were at the bottom of the canyon, which was near to his and Gia’s own cabins but was out of sight. Down here it felt separate from everything else. Down here they wouldn’t be bothered by the kids out after curfew. It was the perfect setting in his opinion.

“I think tonight will be fun,” he gave a wicked grin to Gia. He opened two butterbeers and handed one to his fellow counsellor. “Cheers.”

Welcome to the Upper year party! This event is open to campers going into fourth year and up! If any younger years would like to join, please PM me or Gia! There’s some snacks and drinks (butterbeer, pumpkin juice, and other sodas). So grab some and take a seat around the fire if you’d like! Festivities will begin soon.
