Spoiler: It's me

Hello dears. I'm absolutely not refurbishing my intro from ages ago. Simply recycling.

My name is Victoria! It's lovely to meet you, and please just call me Tori. I’m in my mid-twenties and this August will mark my 5th year on Hoggies! Crazy how the time flies!

I’m a Leo the Lion, a Hufflepuff, and Year of the Snake. Terribly interesting combination. It generally means I have a big personality, I'm a little rambunctious, but I'm loyal and absolutely cherish the family that I've come to know here.

I work as a professional writer (who would have guessed) in New York City. Very different from my love for personal creative writing, it’s a demanding job in the advertising world, but it’s one I’m very passionate about! So if you notice I disappear, it's most likely work has pulled me away. But luckily, it's also a career that respects and pushes for down time and creative-thinking. Hoggies is my creative outlet, so to speak!

So. What do I do around the site?

I clean up messes.

Or start them, depending on who you talk to. Since I have adequate knowledge of photoshop and design, you can see some of my stuff scattered across the tumblr. I also make the pretty banners at the top of the site. I run our Site Promotions team, and I’m right at home in that environment. I am also the lead of the Daily Prophet, so you should make sure to give me some gossip.

Besides wasting my day away on Hoggies, I have a current love of photography and drawing. I enjoy reading, and have been drowning myself in Tolkien mythology.  I like drawing, and I do archery on occasion.  I was a cheerleader for over seven years, and won national titles with my team.  I’ve played ping-pong in college, and tried out for the volleyball team to only be rejected for the players that weren’t 5’nothing.  I’ve worked just about every kind of job you could imagine; I’ve been an art teacher, day-care attendant, theme park manager, broadway poster-designer, flower arranger, home-restorer, clothing-folder, and restaurant bartender.

I love to keep busy, and I love to write, so I’ve found my home here at Hoggies.  If you want to play, please let me know! I've got a trove of characters to pick from.

So, who are my babies?

Noel Delaney | 15 | Hogwarts-Gryffindor
An orphan of the Time Warp, Noel and his twin brother Leon spent nearly a year alone, fending for themselves after the events of January 1st. Hardened by his time alone, severely protective over his twin brother, and aggressive to strangers, this quiet little boy trusts no one. Over the past few years at Hogwarts, he's opened up, able to talk and make friends. He's become strangely attached to bully Henry Delano, though he's currently dating Coco.

Gregory Noble | 16 | Hogwarts-Slytherin
After growing up most of his life in Sweden, Gregory has found his life uprooted from his school in Durmstrang to start anew at Hogwarts. A suave, upstanding young gentleman, Gregory exudes wealth, and yet he's got a bit of a secret. Beneath all that poise, he's determined, clever and never one to back down. He's a mischief maker and enjoyer of chaos. Gregory has a path to follow, but he might want to make his own.

Robert Oliveroot | 26 | Herbology Professor
At first glance, Robert seems to be a strict and impossible-to-please professor. The pureblood prince is often stalking around the halls with a glare and making sure students keep in line. But under that coat, the young man has a soft heart. One he shows to only a few. He’s scraping by for food in his country-side cottage with his very secret lover, but life is good. Just be careful of his attitude, he doesn’t warm up easy.

Charles Kedding | 22 | Chocolate Maker
Kedding had it all. Star athlete, popular with the ladies, gentleman and all-around good guy. At Hogwarts, life was perfect. He was the Quidditch Captain of their winning team. He was Head Boy for Hufflepuff when they won the House Cup. He was engaged to his beautiful girlfriend. Life was pretty good. But graduation was a hard check into reality. Because, no matter how infection the young man's smile is, being a werewolf makes life hard. Not just for him, but now for his family: his wife and young daughters, including a newly born werewolf.

Rooster | 17 | Hogwarts Dropout
Watch your pocket change. Sticky fingers and an innocent face are the perfect combination for trouble. A New York City orphan, Rooster was illiterate until a few years ago, with no idea he was a wizard. With a slew of knowledge from just a years worth of schooling, this feisty boy is more street smart than school smart, and might just be walking away with your wallet.

Ciel Koell | 24 | Daily Prophet
A woman who demands perfection from herself, and those around her, Ciel’s quick wit and sharp tongue have earned her the titles of Ice Queen and nastiest witch to walk through the Daily Prophet.

Madison Litchfield | 31 | Ministry of Magic
A seer who knows more about you than you know about yourself. He's obnoxious and a bit outrageous, but a pureblood elitist who works as an Unspeakable in the Ministry and wants to tell you your future.

I'll see you around

Late June
Sunny Sunday Afternoon

The girl was swimming. He watched quietly as she paddled, back half sticking near out of the water. The bathing suit that clung to her warm skin seemed a size too tight, but it took Noel nearly a minute to realize he had been staring.

That was what he was supposed to like. A girl who was supple and had long hair and a pretty face. He stole another glance before looking down at his own bare chest and thin frame. The young Gryffindor let his legs hand over the edge of the dock, dropped into the water, white legs standing out in the crystal blue. He didn't look very good, and suddenly Noel was a little embarrassed.

He found himself looking back at the girl. "Are you okay?" He asked softly, as she came close enough. He could be concerned, and not looking at anything else. She didn't look like a very strong swimmer, anyway.

Noel Delaney
13 - Third - Muggleborn - Gryffindor

Noel is one of the Delaney twins, though the quieter of the two. Noel is soft spoken and skiddish, awkward and unsure in social settings. He’d rather sit in quiet and read then ever have to talk with other people.

He only trusts his brother, and because of this he has difficulty looking at people without a jaded perception. Despite the hardship Noel went through as a child and a tough exterior, he is a gentle boy. He has a fascination with plants and animals, and they may be the only way to get him to open up.

He needs friends, but it’s a slow process.

Noel has a small scar on his left arm, from an accident that left his brother with a broken arm. Like the twins of Gemini they were named after, Noel and Leon have such a deep connection they can feel one another’s pain. As the years have progressed, this still holds true, even as the twins were sorted into different houses.

First Day of Summer,
Evening

He adjusted the hat, tugging down the ends to cover his ears from the deluge that poured down over him. The rain had started quickly, and soon only the very tip of his wand lit the green path.

Noel did not like to be a pirate. Through all the stories that his father had ever told him, of the swashbucklers and swindlers that pillaged villages and stole treasures. If there was a theme through all those tales, it was the pirates were the bad guys.

As his single, half-filled trunk was place in Buccaneers, and told of his new title, the young Delaney frowned. Though he was grown and, in his own mind, too old for childish things like fairy tales, he still didn’t want to be a bad guy. He was tired of being a bad guy.

That was why he’d turned his attention outside, with a hat that looked like it belonged in an old western, rather than a sea-voyage. He’d find his feet and stand firm: he wouldn’t be a pirate, but he would find the treasure. There was always a treasure to be found in the stories, and Noel would find it. He’d save it and buy Leon a new broom. Maybe he’d get Ser Pounce something nice, since the shaggy cat seemed positively miserable as the rain pounded down upon them.

As he moved further into the forest, where a canopy covered them further from the cold drops, he heard the crunch of leaves under feet. He slinked forward, eyes looking ahead as he moved closer to the sound. Finally, he turned, and standing right in front of him was another boy.

He stopped short, droplets slipping down the brim of his hat, dripping rhythmically against an ivory cheek still plump with baby fat.  “Ah,” He stared at the other boy, hesitating in his path. A pink tongue flickered out as he tried to figure out his best course of action, eyes flickering between the stranger and the rest of the forest, to the barely lit path he had been following.

“Are you a pirate?”

Early August
Down by the Beach
Warm and sunny, clearing up from a rain

The rain fell in tiny, scattered drops onto the ocean’s surface. Each drop distorted the otherwise crystal clear waters, warping his view of the small fish swimming lazily about in the shallows. Over his first time at Hogwarts, Noel had grown more and more curious with the creatures that shared their world. He only needed his brother, of course. Leon was the only person he’d ever need, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy the company of some silent companions.

Animals seemed to understand, without ever asking questions or probing about things Noel didn’t wish to talk about. He didn’t want to talk to people, he didn’t want to tell them about himself, they weren’t worth his time, and he didn’t care to get to know them. Creatures, like these small fish that swam up to brush against his legs, didn’t ask for anything in return, and that was perfect for Noel.

He’d been sitting out at the edge of the water, silently drifting as each wave swept up and past his small frame. The raindrops themselves had a chill, soaking Noel down to the bone and keeping him from feeling too overheated as the sun reemerged.

He’d never seen the ocean before.

Never stood with his feet buried under the sand. He’d never really seen fish, either, so as the small colorful creatures zipped past his feet, the young Gryffindor’s lips turned into a faint smile. A crab, small claws that dug into the sand to bury itself, began to crawl up Noel’s leg seemingly trying to burying himself with the small hairs of the boy’s calf.

He was enjoying himself, enjoying the solitude that the rain had brought, at least until it was disrupted.

People were talking, and making too much noise. They’d stepped into the water down the beach and suddenly all of the fish disappeared into the deeper waters that Noel didn’t dare visit. Not one to talk, in fact of the three words he’d spoken last term only a few were directed to other people, Noel tried to only glare. That, of course, wouldn’t really do much.

Instead, he just threw a handful of sand.

1941 / Selfish [brother mine]
« on: 04/13/2014 at 20:02 »
Mid July

His breathing was heavy, ragged as he sat beside the small bed, clutching the hand of his mirror image. “Stop this,” It was a plea like no other, as if he was asking both Leon and the illness inside of him. “Just… stop all this now, Leon.” Demanding, asking, begging.

Leon was his, and he could not just leave. Noel would not allow it. Noel couldn’t bear the thought of being alone, of again having to say goodbye to the only person he needed.

Leon was just being selfish. He could not just get sick and look so pale, he could not remind Noel of that time.

Leon was so selfish, and Noel couldn’t stop crying.

A hiccup shook his entire body, shoulders shuttering as the air-conditioning continued to pour down his back like ice water. He didn’t dare move, though. He couldn’t move from his brother’s side until Leon was better and they were once more together. It was how it should be, how it always needed to be.

“Please, please… I’ll do anything.”

It chirped.

Noel reached forward to touch the small, fluffy creature, though it instantly retracted and Noel followed suit, pulling his hand away. The small creature, with tiny black spots and large black eyes, flailed and lashed out, tiny paws clawing into the air at the might, foreboding force that was Noel Delaney.

It was a funny, little thing, and it made the young boy smile. He had been following the small cat for several minutes, watching as it sat and chirped in distress, seemingly calling out for something, or someone. Noel thought it was calling for a Mamai, because it was small and it looked like it needed a Mamai.

Maybe he could be it’s Mamai.

“It… is okay.” He tried gently, sitting back on his heels as he once again reached his hand forward. Slow and steady, careful not to scare… he treated it how he liked to be treated.

The cat chirped again, a tiny little squeak of a noise, rolling onto it’s back to once again lash out with its paws. Then, very slowly, it stopped. It watched Noel carefully, as if it was making a decision. Tantalizingly, the cat crept forward, and finally nudged Noel’s hand.

The boy smiled, held his breathe, and just let the cat do what it wished.

1941 / Ice Cubes [OPEN]
« on: 04/01/2014 at 03:42 »
June 1941

“This doesn’t have any ice cubes.” It was the most the young boy had said since they had arrived under the hot sun and sparse trees. Small fingers, thin and short, held onto a glass of lightly chilled pumpkin juice, shaking the little glass and swirling the juice within. Blue eyes, vivid beneath a layer of dust, continued to eye the liquid. “I need ice cubes.”

Living under the Prothero household Noel had picked up bad habits. He learned that people could get what they want if they only demanded it, and that little things like a tube of lip-reddener could cause a tantrum from a full grown woman. Noel was picky with what he demanded, and should he not receive it, he knew how to get it.

Like food, for instance. After living without for so long, and then suddenly getting anything he desire had been a change of pace he could not have anticipated. Now, instead of scrounging for food in the garbage, for whatever was available, he might want an apple.

If Noel did not get his apple, he would not eat.  He had learned he could out last any adult; they would eventually give in after the second or third day.

Today, it was ice cubes.

Noel wanted to have ice cubes in his drink, and he had not taken a sip without them. He looked to Leon, and down to his pumpkin juice to see if he had any illusive ice cubes. It didn’t, and Noel placed the glass down, only mildly disappointed.

His fork played idly in a plate of rice, trying to spear each individually without much success. He hadn’t eaten very much since he had arrived, with the limited food available and meat being a choice Noel did not really go for. He just wanted some ice.

1941 / I'm a Lady
« on: 03/27/2014 at 21:08 »

Please, I’m pampering.
Hello chickadees.

These introductions are so frivolous, aren’t they? How many times can one possibly say they’re fabulous, after all.

My name is Victoria, like the Queen, but just call me Tori. I’m nearly in the mid-twenties and I’ve been here on Hoggies for just about three years, and rping for much longer.  I’m a Leo, a Hufflepuff, and probably more gullible than anyone ever should be.

I actually work as a professional writer (who would have guessed) in New York City. Very different from my love for personal creative writing, tt’s a demanding job in the advertising world, but it’s one I’m very passionate about and absolutely cherish. Not many jobs allow for down time and creative-induced runs to Five Guys for deliciously greasy burgers and fries.

Since I have adequate knowledge of photoshop and design, what you see scattered across the tumblr and banners most likely have my touch. It might not be the best touch, but it’s a touch all the same. I run our sites promotions team, and I’m right at home in that environment.

Besides wasting my day away on Hoggies, I have a current love of photography and drawing.  Recently, I have had several of my photos appear across cosplay magazines and reblogged by creators of series, which is both mind-boggling and amazing.

If you want to play, please hit me up, I just love to plot like a crazy person. <3

My characters include,

Noel Delaney | 10 | Soon-to-be-Hogwarts
An orphan of the Time Warp, Noel and his twin brother Leon spent nearly a year alone, fending for themselves after the events of January 1st. After being found, and living in St Mungos for several months, they’ve found a place in the Prothero castle. Hardened by his time alone, severely protective over his younger brother, and aggressive to strangers, this quiet little boy trusts no one, and is about to start his journey to Hogwarts for his first year.

Rooster | 14 | Hogwarts -Ravenclaw
Watch your pocket change. Sticky fingers and an innocent face are the perfect combination for trouble. A New York City orphan, Rooster was illiterate until a few years ago, with no idea he was a wizard. With a slew of knowledge from just a years worth of schooling, this feisty boy is more street smart than school smart, and might just be walking away with your wallet.

Charles Kedding | 18 | Hogwarts Recent Graduate
The most loving boy you’ll ever meet.  There’s no one around as gentle and loving as Charles Kedding.  Charlie's infectious smile and handsome face have gained him a deal of friends, and many admirers.  He's the kind of boy that will lie down his jacket for you to step over a puddle, and give up his very last scrap of food so you don’t have to feel hunger.  He’d be more likely to befriend his mortal enemy than try to fight him.  But the first thing you’d notice about not-so-little-anymore CKeds is his lumbering frame, multiple scars, deep and bellowing laugh and the little-known fact that he’s a werewolf.

Robert Oliveroot | 22 | Creature Care Professor
Your typical pureblood brat who’s got nothing typical about him.  Secrets abound in the Gryffindor-placed drop-out who continually tells people he left Hogwarts for its poor education structure, yet has found his way back to its walls in order to teach the next generation.   He attends only the best parties and wears only the best clothes, but when he’s not getting all those things from mommy he’s scraping by for food in his London flat with his very secret lover. He’s a sheep in wolf’s clothing, a complete hard nut with a gooey, soft middle.  Careful of his attitude, he doesn’t warm up easy.

Ciel Koell | 20 | Daily Prophet
A woman who demands perfection from herself, and those around her, Ciel’s quick wit and sharp tongue have earned her the titles of Ice Queen and nastiest bitch to walk through the Daily Prophet.

Madison Litchfield | 27 | Ministry of Magic
A seer who knows more about you than you know about yourself. He's obnoxious and a bit outrageous, but a pureblood elitist who works as an Unspeakable in the Ministry.
