Biography: (300 words minimum.)
From a distance, August Woodley seems like a fine gentleman: he starts the day by spending time helping those around him, whether it be simple garbage disposal or his curse-breaking work. He always has a smile on his face and speaks with such a warm tone, that people can’t help but smile back. Those who are really close to August would tell you otherwise. Inside of the warm, loving-father type persona lives a cold, strict man who lives only for one goal: finding out the truth about the time warp. He cannot remember it clearly; it is as though someone spilled a huge amount of ink on all his memories. He isn’t sure whether he was born in 1915 or not, but one thing was for sure. The time wrap may be a myth to some, perhaps a fun theory to others, but August can never forget the green lights which engulfed the sky. After that incident, August has devoted almost 20 years of his life to figure out its cause and possibly fix the shift in time.
There was a time when August was actually happy. Though he can now barely remember how the muggle maiden looked or sounded like, there was indeed a time when he thought he found the right person and loved her wholeheartedly. He was so filled with love and happiness: August thought he’d be happy forever. Then came the time wrap. After realizing he could never see her ever again, he applied for a job at the ministry in hopes of getting to the bottom of what he called the ‘ultimate curse’. Finding information in the ministry is tough, however; it was impossible for him to figure out something the ministry did not intend to give. Hopeless and furious, August took part in several protests against acts of the ministry e.g. the Blood Status Badges and illegally went to Muggle Britain to search for clues. His actions were quickly detected, getting him fired from the ministry and banning him from ever setting foot to the Office for the Removal of Curses, Jinxes, and Hexes. After this incident, he now works as a private curse-breaker.
Being fired from the M.o.M. did not stop August from questioning. Every single hour not spent on his job was time spent on looking for answers. His search became his only hobby, he knows nothing of entertainment. The one thing which matters to him is a chance to see his beloved once more.
Perhaps his goal is not solely the curse, for the man has a son. The boy may be adopted, but August still loves him; even if he is terrible at showing it. Somehow, he can’t put off those soft grins to the people who actually do matter.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
It was already winter. August could swear it had still been warm the last time he went out. He walked down the streets of Diagon Ally, rubbing his hands to get some warmth.
The snow was too harsh; he was glad he had his umbrella with him. August was never a fan of the weather, or any weathers for that matter. All he wanted to do was to go back inside and read through those books he was able to get his hands on the other day.
Hadn’t it been for the money, he would have done it. This curse removal services weren’t doing quite well; people seemed to prefer the more legal-like version of the art. It was a miracle that they were requesting him for something this time of the year.
August could do nothing but hope that the job would be over quickly. Perhaps he might be able to come home before dark. He hadn’t had a proper dinner with the boy for so long after all.
August’s legs stopped as his eyes fixated on a small ball inside one of the shops. Richard’s birthday was coming up, he’d soon be able 11. He was not sure what the kid might like. A remembrall seemed suitable enough, right?

Maybe. It’s not like I’d be going out to buy something later.

Suddenly, August felt a huge thud on the head. Shocked, he looked down at his feet to see a box filled with tinsels. Several of those were scattered among the floor, being drenched in the dirty white snow.
"I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" A man said to him.
“No worries, it’s quite alright.” He told the poor soul, quickly studying the man. Realising that the man must be one of the shopkeepers, he grinned at him. There was no benefit for him to be mad at the man. Who knows? He might give him a discount some day.
“It is however surprising to see that many tinsels. They can’t possibly be used for one single tree, can they?” August chuckled as he bent down to pick up the materials.

Finding information in the ministry was tough, however; it is impossible to figure out something since the ministry itself has no idea and do not even believe that it actually happened. August, however, thought that this was only a coverup. He was convinced that the ministry planned the whole curse to discriminate muggle-borns and disconnect the wizarding world from the muggle world entirely.
Hopeless and furious, August took part in several protests against acts of the ministry e.g. the Blood Status Badges and went out into Muggle Britain when this was strictly forbidden. His actions were quickly detected, getting him fired from the ministry and banning him from ever setting foot in the Office for the Removal of Curses, Jinxes, and Hexes. After this incident, he now works as a private curse-breaker.

August had no idea this would lead him down a path of misery.
There may be some hope for him to be happy yet, for the man has a son. The boy is adopted; his parents disappeared under unknown circumstances, but August still loves him, even if he is terrible at showing it. Somehow, he can’t put off those soft grins to the people who actually do matter.
