Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Gemma Elanora DeAngelis

Birthday: 13 August

Hometown: Venice, Italy, but residing in London, England.

Bloodline: Unknown Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one): Transfiguration

Year (pick two): Fourth (preferred), Fifth

Biography:
The DeAngelis family had a dark reputation in their country of Italy, among other various parts of the world. Nikolas and Destiny had decided, once they found one another, they were going to turn their backs on the society that tried to control their lives. They had resorted to the shadier ways of earning money, living like the criminals they had once put in prison. It was far more lucrative than working a nine to five every day.

Though they both had their fair share of indiscretions, it had only been Nikolas that had resulted in three daughters. Though they had potential to become far more than the mistresses that birthed them, Destiny still had her hesitance about raising her husband’s bastard children. However, after a few months of having three gifted daughters, her mind had changed.

And, thus, the triplets were born. Fake names, fake birthday, and a bit of makeup to the missus, and their neighbors had been convinced she had birthed the three tiny girls.

As they grew up, the girls had no idea they weren’t in fact biological triplets. They had always been told they were fraternal, explaining their lack of similarities. Their parents preached family, honor, and loyalty at a young age. And that had been instilled in Gemma, resonating deep within her. Though she was fierce, the girl wore her heart on her sleeve.

Something her sisters used against her. They were no strangers to relentless teasing of one another, but if someone had something to say, there would be a price to pay. Only the girls could talk to each other in that manner. Anyone else would regret it, that they made sure.

Her sisters meant the world to Gemma, and they would come above all others. That was a fact, and she wasn’t shy about letting anyone know. It wasn’t as if she isolated herself (though she wanted to at times) but there were only certain personalities she could tolerate.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin, Ravenclaw

Personality:
Gemma is all about loyalty, family first, and honor. Her parents had instilled the importance of each one at such a young age, that she often refers back to that frequently. She wears her heart on her sleeve, taking words to heart, often believing them. Although the girl wears a cold mask externally, the sting still stays with her long after. In times of anger, she finds herself being ruthless towards anyone, including her sisters. But when it comes to her siblings, she is quicker to forgive than outsiders.

Appearance:
Gemma is currently 5'3 with dark brown hair hanging just past her shoulders. Warm brown eyes turn perpetually darker when her mood changes, which can be often depending on the people surrounding her. She believes her looks are nothing special compared to those of her sisters. She wears a thin hemp bracelet on her right wrist always, from a friend back in Italy.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Gemma had, truthfully, been minding her own business out in the gardens. The sun was actually out for once, and she had no desire to eat breakfast with the rest of her house. She was still trying to find her way, in the castle and in her life. Her mind was clouded with all of the lessons her parents had spewed to them, and the new things she was learning at this school.

It was a hard balancing act.

So, she sought solace among the beautiful flowers. The striking reds, purples, and pinks. The colors she never associated with herself, but always with Brie and Gia. They were beautiful, and bold, and wanted. And she was just forever stuck as the ugly duckling. She knew this, as fingertips felt the soft petals as her legs carried her around the garden.

Until an older boy and a rat interrupted the deep conversations she had within herself.

And he had the audacity to accuse her of staring!

"It's not polite to interrupt a lady, either. Maybe you should learn to keep your rat on a leash, ya twat."

She fired back, knowing full and well it made zero sense, but still, the tone of her voice didn't quiver as she peered down at the boy.
