Pureblood

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Transfiguration

If you are applying to be a first, second, or third year, your biography must be at least one hundred words long.
If you are applying to be a fourth year or above, your biography must be at least three hundred words long.

Wendy and Alan were both successful journalists working with the same newspaper in New York. Working together for years, they became good friends and when Wendy’s marriage failed, she turned to Alan for emotional support and someone to lean on. Mistakes were made and they cut things off, agreeing that they could only be friends as Alan was a married man with a family. However when Wendy discovered she was pregnant with Alan’s baby, things changed. Ashamed and embarrassed, she packed up and moved across town, and eventually across country, changing jobs and offering Alan no explanation. She cut off all contact with all of her old friends and started over fresh.

When Chloe was born, Wendy made the decision to give her her father’s last name, wanting her to have at least some kind of connection with the man who didn’t even know she existed. Chloe didn’t connect the dots that she was different from her mother and other siblings until she got a little older. When she started asking questions, Wendy finally made the decision to reach out to Alan and introduce them.

Growing up, Chloe was always a happy kid, getting along with others and well loved within her family. When her older siblings would go away to see their father, at first she didn’t think anything of it. It was her special time to spend with her mom, and she loved it. As she got a bit older, she grew very curious about it, and her mother sat her down and explained to Chloe that she had a different father than the others and that was why she had to stay behind.

She struggled with the concept that she was different than the others. It caused her to act out and get into a bit of trouble. She would lash out at teacher, friends and even her family. She just wanted to feel like she fit in better and struggled trying to find her place.

Things got a bit better with the promise of meeting her father, a bit of her old sweet self returning. When she finally met her father, she instantly had him wrapped around her finger. They had an instant bond that seemed to tame a bit of the sharp edge she’d adapted to. She’d found a missing piece of herself. She moved to London at the age of 10 to be closer to the part of her family she had yet to get to know.

She started at Hogwarts a year later and was sorted into Hufflepuff where she adjusted to life in a new place and a new school.

Tragedy hit in her 2nd year, however, when her father died. It was hard for her to comprehend the fact that her father, who she’d only recently met, was now gone. The event helped her grow closer to her half-sister, Serena. Their relationship remains rocky but is on the mend.

House Request: Hufflepuff!

Personality: Not overly entitled, but she definitely has her bratty tendencies. She’s got a bit of a semi-manipulative charm and sweetness about her. Things don’t tend to come naturally for her, but she’s a very determined little thing that doesn’t mind putting in the extra work. She wants to do and be her best, even if it does get muddled up at times.

Appearance: Little blonde cutiepie with big blue eyes.

Chloe enjoyed the gardens, especially when the flowers were in bloom. The breeze tickled her nose with the scent of a dozen different types of plants and the sunshine bore down on her, warming her skin where she lay, sprawled lazily amongst the flowers.

It was a perfect place for a little Rose to relax.

A scuffling sound punctured her peace, and her eyes flew open.

“You blasted rat! Where are you?”

An almighty sneeze cut through the air, and she sat up, head barely poking over the tops of the flowers. After a quick glance around, she climbed atop a decorative boulder for a better view. It was a boy. An older one, who was currently wiping his nose on his sleeve. What was a boy with allergies doing in the gardens? He must of lost his pet. Shame. It wasn’t a good feeling, losing a pet, and she thought she might be able to help. After all, she did know her way around the garden.

She opened her mouth to speak.

“Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare.”

The words froze as her lips formed a tiny ‘o’ of surprise. It only lasted a moment, though, until she wrinkled her nose up at the boy. “I was going to offer to help you,” she eyed him coldly, “But you can forget it now, you snot infested jerk.”

Quickly as she could, she turned her back on the older boy and sunk down on the rocks to huff at her feet. He could search for himself if he wanted to be mean.

What did she care?

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?”

Roleplay Response:
Finally a nice day. The sun was warm and the sky was beautiful. It was the perfect day to go out and enjoy the park. But Chloe was pouting. It was her brother’s ‘away weekend’ which meant she was on her own to find entertainment. Mother didn’t like her to go to the park alone, but she’d snuck out anyway. It was daytime and the park was full of people. So technically she wasn’t alone anyway. Or that would be her story if she got caught, at least.

She straightened her sundress and swung her arms back and forth as she breathed in the smell of grass and what was that other smell? Maybe it was sunshine. Did sunshine of a smell? Maybe. If rain had a smell, sunshine probably-

“You! …Do you want to play?”

Snapped out of her thoughts, blue eyes met with a girl. Small. Kind of on the shrimpy side. Chloe eyed her critically. She was torn. On one had, she was annoyed that the girl had shouted at her like that. On the other hand, she could sympathize with the her. She had older brothers herself, and even though she loved having them around, she knew it was different than having someone your own age to play with.

Placing her hands on her hips she sighed, thinking it over. It would be something to pass the time until her brothers got back. “Well… okay. But I get to pick the game."
