Zack Coral Renook was born with one mom, Leah Ruth Renook, and no father his mom had a good job as a mayor of Saintsville, but he and her cigarettes were secrets. Zack had light brown hair and sky blue eyes behind his round glasses. He was thin but not too tall. Leah barley talked to him and if Zack would even come close to asking about his father or anything that seemed silly she would find a chore for him. She was gone most of the day so Zack was alone a lot, but the beautiful English country scene keeps him company. Every angle of the beautiful view was sketched. His wonderful drawings were never looked at. At Brooke field Elementary the kid made sure to tease him as much as possible. Zack never heard a word because he was always reading, mostly fiction. He read everything he could get his hands on, he read Alice in Wonderland, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and Lord of the Rings.  He soon was given the name bookworm but Zack wore it with pride.
Then, when Zack was nine his mom died of lung cancer. Zack was then taken to the police station to find one of his relatives to stay with. About ten minutes later a man came in that looked exactly like him only taller by a good distance. The man was called in to the office and then after three try to toss a paper ball in the waste basket, an officer came out with the stranger and said “This is your father Zack, he is going to take good care of you in your new home in London”. Zack was struck dumb he couldn’t believe that he was meeting his dad after all these nine years of his life.
Zack packed everything he owned; a sketch book, some clothes, a piece of coral he always felt connected to, and the Lord of the Ring books they’re his favorite. He went down the steps where his father was waiting for him but instead of leading him to the front door Zack followed his dad to the living room fire place. Zack looks at his dad who has produced a small sack from his coat. Then he though some powder from the sack into the cold fire place witch erupted in emerald flames. His dad grabbed Zack arm stepped in the flames and said, “Fiddly Lane number 236”. Zack was spinning in the warm flames luckily, Zack keep his eyes and mouth closed. When he opened his eyes they were in a dark room. He saw his dad produce a stick from his pocket and then wave it and the room was suddenly bright with candle light. Once more Zack was quiet so many questions popped in his head. Before he could speak his dad waved him into a chair “I am Arnold Kilns Renook, I have much to tell Zack”
His father weaved him a tale of magical wizards and witches. He told him about Floo powder, wands, spells, jinxes, hexes, goblins, and Hogwarts. When he was done he said “so, what do think”. “It’s amazing” Zack replied without thinking because deep inside he wish all true for as long as he could tie his shoes. Then he thought of a question on his mind for a while, “Dad…” “Yes” “what happened between you and mom?” Zack thought he might not answer but then he smiled and said “I told her I was a wizard a year after we had you. She didn’t like the idea of you being raised by me”. Looked ant Zack and then said “I’m sorry”. Zack got up and gave his dad hug and said “I forgive you”
For the next couple of years Zack lived a happy life in his new home with Arnold. Zack told his dad “I forgive you “. Zack saw quite a bit of magic over the next two years. He mostly saw spells and charms. He also read many books about magical creatures, how to preform spells, and the history of Hogwarts. Then in September Zack received an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. After purchasing the required materials Zack eagerly waits for the time to go off on that scarlet locomotive.

Option II:

“Oh, come now!"
Astrid Bixby’s voice carried down the corridor, the tall blonde girl not far behind. Her interviewee – or victim, depending on perspective – turned a corner and she frowned. They were always so elusive when she needed them. Sure, they would talk as if there was no tomorrow during class, but once she actually needed them to say something; they were nowhere to be found. Gryffindors.

Flustered, Astrid stopped in the middle of the corridor and stared, her parchment hanging limply from her hand. She was a good reporter, really, and she always did her best to make sure that everything she wrote was accurate. She glanced down to the quill, eyeing it with disdain. It wasn’t her fault if her quill misquoted. How was she supposed to know? It made for interesting articles, at least, and if she had misquoted the Head Boy last term as saying he had a love for stuffed animals, then that gave him personality. Astrid sighed.

A pout formed on her lips as she turned away, discouraged. The corridor was mercifully empty, though the doors to The Spellbound – the school newspaper – were ominously closed. Corbridge was a mercifully sweet editor, but Astrid was terrified of disappointing her all the same. She had to come back with quotes.
Her eyes, blue, trailed her surroundings before choosing a new path, and she turned down a new corridor. A figure was ahead, and her eyes lit up, an impossibly rosy smile blossoming across her lips.

“Hey!” Astrid called her voice light and singsong. She trotted to catch the person, her shoes clicking on the stone floor. “Wait up! It’s for the paper!” Her legs aided her admittedly poor running, and Astrid gasped as she came closer. “What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think its plain gross.”
Zack was lost in thought he was just drifting though corridor after corridor trying to think of what house elves do in their free time. Then his thought bubble was ruptured by a light and singsong voice that called “Hey!” Zack look back to see Astrid trotting towards him, trying to catch him, He knew she worked for the newspaper; it was spellnews or something like that. Before he could even take another step she got close enough that he couldn’t pretend not to see her. “What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think its plain gross.”  Zack didn’t want to be rude so he told her what he thought about this new matter “let them eat forelegs, just don’t pass them to me” and waited for a response.
