Hexenreich faculty. His father is a Hexenrich sympathizer but will not openly declare fealty to the organisation in order to ensure the family goes on if the order was to go south. August is joining the organisation to prove a point to his father, that he isn’t weak but in fact brave (plus he has a mean streak).

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
The tale of August Sommer begins in the great halls of Hanover Castle, the ancestral seat of the Sommer family, an old Germanic family that has had its beginning in the deep south of the country, nothing like the north in which they now reside. August was born in the late evening of Christmas, Viktoria (his mother) having gone into labour at the lunch table. She was effectively put into confinement, with the two nurses being the only people allowed into the room until the new child was born. Valdemar (his father) had took to his study where he went to drink as he waited for the good news that his child had been born. A stern man that found tradition to be the only way of living, something he abided by religiously. At the announcement that Viktoria had given birth to another son, Valdemar went to see his new son and to support his wife in the recovery process.

At the age of two, he joined his other brothers Otto (4), Rudolf (4), Wilhelm (6) and Sigmund (7) in the family nursery, where the nanny now cared for the five brothers. It was here that he credits the bond between his four other brothers. Now older, he has always granted his father the success of being kept in a nursery rather than separate rooms, which would soon occur once Sigmund turned ten years old, where he was granted his own quarters in the large castle. A castle that had been within the family (and seat of residence for the head of the family) since the early years of the family, built by its founding fathers as a summer residence.

A stern father, Valdemar kept to a strict regime, to instill order and obedience within his children. A clear routine set out, he ran a tight ship with an iron fist, his children ordered at the dinner table for breakfast, lunch and dinner for certain times, they were given several hours outdoors with the rest of the day set out for studies. He was building his children up to be a success, the routine their father practiced was named by the children as the ‘Sommer Regime’. It is this regime that has largely shaped August’s personality for law, order and a manner of reclusiveness, the matter of feelings being alien to him. However, the regime prepared him for his education at the family favourite Durmstrang Institute

He managed to follow in his older brothers footsteps, managing to escape the War just in time, he was admitted to Durmstrang just as war broke within Europe, he was kept safe by the fortified walls of the great castle. He spent his whole seven years of education at the castle, keeping away from Germany, where his parents had managed to escape the clutch of war who, were now settled in London. He excelled in Dark Arts, and quidditch - by the age of twelve he was on the school quidditch team, and by the age of fourteen looking to join the national team. He graduated with his girlfriend, and together they went to London where his parents were still residing, the relationship did not last and broke down months later after two years of dating. They were childhood sweethearts.

His father has always been a Hexenreich sympathizer, agreeing with the ideologies and research they were conducting, however did not openly support them. It was in the interest of the family, if the organisation was to fall, he was not going to let his family tumble with them. But this did not stop August. Out of all his siblings, Valdemar had viewed August (as the youngest) to be the weakest of his children, despite him being better at the Dark Arts than his elder siblings. In order to prove a point and have his father's approval (something he seeked out for years), to become his pride and joy for doing something his brothers would not.

In 1947, he joined the Hexenreich as a eighteen year old, on the eve of his nineteenth birthday him having also being accepted into St. Mungo’s as a Junior Healer. Following his nineteenth birthday in the early days of January 1948, his parents were given border passes and travelled back to Germany to survey the damage made to their ancestral seat, Hanover Castle and inspect the small army nicknamed the ‘Sommer Warriors’ who were protecting the castle when they had fled to London. August stayed in London, he had his work to do here first before he could return home after so many years.

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:

A visit to Diagon Alley was not unfamiliar for August, on the contrary, it was very much in his nature to...observe his surroundings. His first visit had seen him looking above, getting to know the familiar fixtures of the street, he figured if he needed to run away quickly, he needed to know the place so that he could use a direct, thought-out route rather than guess work which could lead to a dead end. However, today’s mission was not to get to know the place (he had already done that) but to use his day off to meet an old friend.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Her voice was annoying, and she wasn’t even talking to him. She was perhaps several feet away from him, judging by the volume and tone of her voice, it was strained, the person was not cooperating with what she had to ask. It was whining, irritating, dull - everything that August hated in a person, she really needed to stay quiet, or he himself would have to do something about it.

It was then that her voice was cut off and he felt a knock on his shoulder, a rather stern expression (like that of his father’s) grew across his features. It was her. As he turned to see her, having hit him in the shoulder, her heel stuck in the ground a few paces back. A small smile widened...it was kinda funny, she got what she deserved with all that shrieking. “You might want to watch where you’re going next time”
