Biography:
His tale began in the womb of his mother, conceived on a mild October evening several months after the wedding of his parents, Aurore & Endymion Marchen in which had married on a warm summer’s day at their local parish church where the trees dangled with blossoming pale pink flowers, the bells had chimed, hymns were sung, and Aurore, a Princess in white had her perfect wedding day. His birth was welcomed with pride and joy, after the screaming pain and the tight grasp of Endymion’s hand, the boy was born in the early hours of July thirtyfirst of the year nineteenthirtyfour. His birth soon reached the Head of the Family, and within hours, a package arrived addressed to the newborn, inside a gift for the new Märchen.

Prior to his christening (held four months after the boy’s birth) it was announced in the newspaper he was to be named Briar Endymion Wilhelm Märchen.

Almost five months after his own christening, the young Briar (affectionately named Bree by the family) almost being one years old, his parents welcomed another child, their first and only daughter yet second child, Rose. This made the family of three, a family of four. Following Rose’s birth, the family moved into a new home in Buckingham, London; a modest home in a rather prestigious neighbourhood. They were by no means the richest family, yet they were not the poorest either; considering they have a second home in Stuttgart, Germany, often used when visiting their native country.

Germany has always remained in Briar’s tale, ensuring that his blood would forever flow with German heritage and culture. Keeping in touch with their native Germany, their father, eldest child of their grandparents, taught Briar and his sister to speak in the German tongue, as did his parents, and as did their grandfathers parents. Every year, Endymion and Aurore make sure they visit Germany, touring around the country as they taught their children the German way of living. Briar, being considerably talented, could speak fluent German and English by the age of seven. He really enjoys his trips to Germany.

Growing up, Briar was always active. He was bundle of energy, always wearing a cheeky grin as he played with his wooden toys, or running through the fields of their German holiday home. The perfect prince that the king andqueen could hope for, and the princess, right by his side as they picked daisies, create a bouquet and grant it to the ever elegant queen that would place the daisy crown on her daughter's head, and play swords made from sanded sticks with her handsome son. They were the perfect family, the king and queen nurturing their children as they grew, in height and maturity, they were the picturesque family that many were envious to have.

However, there is a page of his tale that is yet to be discovered, ripped from its bounds, kept; folded up until it can fold no more, hidden underneath the floorboard under his bed, kept in a locked vault at the back of his mind. A crime it was, yet no crime that he committed, but a crime committed unto him, so vile and sickening he vowed not to think of it for the rest of his life. Lying on the bed, tangled under the covers he slept, crying away the thoughts as he bolted the door, keeping any visitors out. And so he slept and slept, eyes only flickering when the loud boom of his mother's fist banging against the wood, begging her to be in. Yet all he wanted to do was sleep, to forget, to sleep until he could remember no more, until it was store in its secure vault, kept from the listening ears of his precious sister. All the queen wanted to do was be with her darling child, to hold and comfort her prince, only doing so when the hinges were unscrewed, admitting the king and queen to his chamber.

Following these events, to care for their darling boy, they removed him from Hogwarts, to return the following year. Aurore wanted to do everything to look after him; blaming herself, she wanted to gain his trust again, yet to Briar, no trust was broken, however this does not stop Aurore for blaming herself for the incident.

Despite this however, though plagued of the thoughts and feelings, he remains his wide grinning self, with his love of the outdoors. Like any preadolescent teen, he prefers time spent with his friends, climbing trees and taking adventures to the clouds above. Optimism would be about the right word to describe Briar, a brave thrill seeker, he can often be told he causes his dear mother heart attacks, yet he remains optimistic, with a strong sense of love evident within him. Perhaps due to his own loving parents, he find himself loving everyone, yet a hopeless romantic, he will do what he can to love, care and protect his choice of significant other.

To sum up; Briar is a happy, optimistic, brave thrill seeker with a soft spot for love.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Gryffindor/Slytherin/Ravenclaw (I leave it up to you!)

Personality:Following the incident in Germany; Briar has been getting back together, he was taken from Hogwarts to ensure that he could recover properly (perhaps the Headmistress is aware of this). He has been working on building back up his wall to ensure he is just as brave, slightly reckless tending to go into fights without any thought for the consequences. He largely protects people around him, having been working on protecting himself. He can be quite skeptical about meeting new people and what their intentions are. However, he can be happy, have fun and joke around with his friends.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

His fingers remained tucked nicely in the pockets of his jeans that were quite a snug fit; his wand safely tucked in his back pocket, concealed by the edge of his jacket. The sun was out, yet the warmth was moderate, it was not weather to be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, he would have preferred the warmth, but the sun and light clouds would do. There was something about staring at the burning fire as it tried to tell him something rather boring; he had given up on the words it tried to speak.
He took to the gardens; to allow himself to breathe. The air was purer, the stench far less strong, the sweet smell of flowers managed to filter through his nostrils as he wandered aimlessly through the gardens. They were remarkable; the botanical gardens of Hogwarts, they carried a beauty that he had only seen in the manor in Germany. They were large, with trimmed hedges, various roman posing statues, the large greenhouses where plants snapped and clawed, the aroma was full, strong scents that caught in the back of throat as they all clawed for first position.

It was flash of bright colour as a large flower burst, rattling from side to side as the stem began to grow to a stop, its momentum clearly slowing down. His lips curled slightly as he spotted the creature that was the cause of this moving flower; a rat sat by his feet. He was not scared of rats, though he would have preferred some variant of a bird, or even a squirrel perhaps; still, he bent down, allowing the animal to run into his cupped hands.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

He paused. There was two ways this could now go; Briar having evaluated that the others behaviour was that of arrogance and an instant unliking fell upon him. Despite this, what was he going to do with a blasted rat?

“I think you lost something” His tone dead, nothing but words falling from his lips. He would get the same treatment as he had received. He extended his arms out, the animal dancing around in his palms as he offered the kid the rat back.

Roleplay:

Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the everpervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemonyyellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.
"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.
Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf. Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.

"You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

His trip had been planned; well planned to the extent that he had decided to go to the park that day, there was something about being at home all the time that was beginning to lose its appeal. It was with his father's assent that they had made there way to Godric's Park that day. He did not particularly care that his parents were there, it was a rather nice day and it was better than being stuck in the big home of theirs. There was a moment during the trip up that he wished Rose had been there, that way it would not have been as quiet. There was something about quietness that he was unaccustomed to, and he didn’t like it.

He sat on the picnic blanket his mother had packed with the hamper of food that she had prepared that morning, they had insisted that Anna (the cook, and only cook) take the day off due to their plans on coming to the beautiful park. A smile of content graced his lips as he rested back, tucking his hands underneath his head as he lay across the blanket, eyes squinting to block out the bright, golden light of the sun. He was on his own, his mother and father standing in line for an icecream in a cone, he did like wafer.

"...Do you want to play?"

At first, he felt that the sounding of a girls rather aggressive voice was not directed at him, however once there was no reply, he assumed he would be able to hear due to the closeness of the girl's voice. He woke, eyes widening as he stretched, eyes remaining like slits as he adjusted to the darker shade that cast its arms over his body. It was a girl as he had assumed, she was young for sure; but this was not the reason for his coming decision, he just did not want to play.

“I think we’re leaving soon actually” He sounded, voice breaking due to the dryness of his mouth. “Maybe you should try and catch up with your friends” His hand gestured to the group of boys that was continue to chase after the glimmer of gold in the sky. Quidditch. He liked Quidditch, he just wasn’t in the mood for moving around, he just wanted to relax.
