Other than the Ministry, Hansel is pretty much out of the loop. Having been away for a while, he's noticed a change in the way things are ran however.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Selling dark-detectors and guarding Hogwarts school felt so long ago. A lot had happened since Hansel had left England over a year ago. He had lost everything on this case. The Ministry had sent him on a trip to Berlin to try and hunt down a murderer, and the mission had tested everything.

His patience: Hansel had waited days, weeks, months for the elusive murderer to slip up on more than one occasion.

His will: The ability to make harsh decisions had almosty tipped Hansel over the edge time and time again.

His instinct: The criminal had to be hunted all over Germany, and on many nights Hansel had slept without a roof over his head.

His strength: The murderer had been tough, and resourceful. There had been several cheap thugs sent after him to try and throw him off the scent.

His ability: Hansel had lost four wands in his final duel with the criminal. Eventually however, he had managed to gain one more.

One night in summer, Hansel had tracked the murderer down to Düsseldorf and precisely two hours after confronting him, Hansel was able to pluck the wand; his trophy, from the criminals limp fingers. Life had not been simple from then on. His family had been told that he was dead in order for him to be able to catch the murderer, he hadn't had a normal conversation for about a year, and worse yet, almost everyone with an important job within the Ministry had been replaced with someone new.

Returning to England had also taken him a few months, as he had spent a lot of time debating whether he would be welcomed. He had the wand, and the necklace (for good measure) of the murderer and he had been told to return to the Ministry with both of them. But something was very wrong. The fact that he had been sent on a year-long mission to try and track down a rogue wizard in Berlin was rather odd. Then, to return to a Ministry full of new faces and changes, Hansel was unsure whether the case would even still be open.

But he was back to make amends with his family (if that was at all possible) and to establish his position within the Ministry. Did he still have a job? He may have been presumed dead, but the old Head of Magical Law Enforcement knew the truth. But now that there was someone else with that job, he might just as well be a dead man. A dead man walking, with a lot of questions that needed answering.

ROLEPLAY

Mr. Grunch smirked as stepped into the shadows beneath the overhanging eaves at the side of the street. There was a sort of alcove here, where two buildings came together, and the wall was set back just a couple of feet to make space for a drain from the battered lead guttering. It made it difficult to see if anyone was standing there until you were almost on top of it, and the shape of the roof up above cast an almost permanent shadow even then.

There were a number of such places along Knockturn Alley and Mr. Grunch knew them all.

Seeing nobody was nearby, he quickly cast the concealment spell that would obscure his features, making him unrecognisable, just a blur beneath the cowl of his thick, but worn, robes. He knew his target, had identified them some time before, as they entered the Alley. He had shadowed them, discretely, and now, he knew, they were heading back out again, towards the safety of the better lit Diagon Alley.

He heard the footsteps approaching. This was it, then. Just before they reached the alcove, he stepped out suddenly in front of his target, wand raised and ready.

"Give me all yer galleons, and any jewellery yer got! Don't try to hide nothin', 'cos I'll know, right? Do it now!"

Roleplay Response:
According to Hansel, Knockturn Alley was the kind of place that needed cleansed. By 'cleansed', he meant levelled to the ground. Even the architecture was dark and brooding, certainly, ut it was the people who made Knockturn the trashpit that it was.

Hansel had been held at the wrong end of one of their wands many times before, and he had gained a new wand from it every single time.

"Don't be an idiot."

Only a fool would think that someone would wander around Knockturn Alley weighed down with jewellery and galleons, and Hansel felt particularly light on his feet today.

"You're clearly lost. Gringotts bank is that way," he pointed towards the gate that seperated Knockturn from Diagon. The slight hint of sarcasm in his voice had been involuntary, but he didn't regret it. Whoever was hiding behind that cowl was clearly far too stupid to pick up on it. If not, then he would've noticed that Hansel was pointing one of his own wands back at him.

"A word of warning. Don't try it," he said, raising his wand slightly more into view.

Special Power Request:

Other than being an Auror, I have a request for Hansel to still carry several wands with him. He has notoriously collected the wands of those he has beaten in duels as trophies, and I would hate to break this tradition. Usually, however, because these wands belonged to dark wizards, and they have not 'chosen' Hansel, they do not work; or are vaguely unresponive, for him. However, he does have at least three wands that do work for him, one of them being the wand he purchased as a child. I would like to request that Hansel is able to 'dual wield' two wands on rare occasions and use them during the more taxing duels. I'm not suggesting that because of this, he is twice as possible, just that he feels more comfortable and can duel quicker with two wands than with one.

Accepted.

Note that, IC legally, you're not supposed to have the extra wands, so you have to be secretive about it, which would rather limit your opportunity to use them.
"You die in the dream, you wake up in reality. Ask me what happens if you die in reality."

"What happens?"

"You die, stupid - that's why it's called reality."
